Barbados Health Minister attacks journalist over questions about Minister’s porn business profiteering

Donville Inniss narrowly avoids defamation lawsuit with immediate retraction

Minister of Health Donville Inniss verbally attacked Barbadian journalist Ian Bourne last Friday before a public audience at the Unity Bar Lunchtime Lecture.

Minister Inniss falsely accused Bourne “You have a big blog site that is full of nasty (stories)” but then immediately withdrew the comment as a strategic move after having put Bourne down to the laughter of the stacked DLP audience. It was a dishonest move that lacked integrity, but it works in a room full of party supporters.

The audio recording of the event reveals that Inniss did not apologize, and he laughed derisively at the journalist along with many in the pro DLP audience. The derision has become the standard reply by Inniss and the DLP to defuse what should be, what would be, a major political scandal and a major news story in any nation with a free and determined news media.

If Mitt Romney had his name on ‘Orgasm.com’ or some of the other Inniss-related porn sites, can you imagine what the world’s news media would do?

In Barbados the news media is too cowardly or complicit to even mention the story despite the fact that the evidence is still available online to the public as well as the news media.

News blackout on the Donville Inniss porn business story

The recent defamation and derision by Minister Inniss stems from Ian Bourne’s private and respectful question to the Health Minister on July 7, 2011 about posts on Barbados Free Press exposing the Minister’s connections to online porn. (See links at end of story)

Mr. Bourne privately and respectfully asked Minister Inniss:

“Donville – I am sorry to disturb you but there are wild allegations as you may be aware of, concerning your alleged connection to a number of websites with pornographic connotations. EG: Youngntender.net, orgasm.com & nakednews.com among others. Can we do an Interview where the public has your side of the story? Please advise ASAP…”

Donville Inniss replied:

“come on Ian”

Mr. Bourne answered:

“What does this mean? Nothing wrong in dispelling rumours, it shows proactivity on your part to air your perspective on the matter…”

… For the entire story of Journalist Ian Bourne’s interaction with Health Minister Donville Inniss about the porno business connections, read Bajan Reporter’s piece: BARBADOS CABINET MINISTER ATTACKS “BAJAN REPORTER” AT DLP STRONGHOLD – MAKES FALSE ACCUSATION WITH NO APOLOGY!

Minister Donville Inniss refuses to talk about this subject – because he knows it is true.

Starting in 2011, Barbados Free Press published a series of articles showing the long term connections between Inniss and the online porn business.

For many years Inniss profited from online websites showing horrific pornography – including teenage porn, pregnant women porn and websites showing young women involved with dogs, horses, goats and other animals in ah, ‘inter-species relationships’. There were worse things too, but we won’t even describe them here. (How can there be worse things than what we’ve described? Trust us folks, we had no idea some of this stuff existed. No idea at all and I’m no 20-something.)

Porn money flows internationally. Does Inniss have any foreign bank accounts?

As part of our inquiries, BFP made online purchases and discovered the flow of cash from the Inniss-associated, Barbados-registered websites to foreign countries such as Switzerland and Panama. BFP asked whether Inniss had properly declared his offshore cash flows and profits, and how much the porn industry contributed to his election campaign and to the DLP party coffers. BFP also showed the connections between the online porn industry and human trafficking, and the potential conflict of interest by Minister Inniss and his government: making money from porn and potentially from the human trafficking industry, while signing various international conventions against human trafficking.

After we started publishing, the Health Minister spent many months removing his name from online records showing his connection with the porn industry, but he never challenged the veracity of our stories, which can be confirmed to this day through various online sources such as Domain Tools and The Wayback Machine. Mr. Inniss has never complained to our WordPress.com blogging host because he knows that Barbados Free Press can prove everything we’ve said about his relationship with the online porn industry.

Minister of Health Donville Inniss won’t complain to our host WordPress.com about this article either.

We think that it matters. We think that Bajan voters would not give Donville Inniss a pass on the subject of his profiting from horrific pornographic websites.

Ian Bourne is the only Barbados journalist with the courage to ask Donville Inniss about the Minister’s internet porn business, connections and revenues. Even we at BFP post anonymously. Someday, the general Bajan public will become aware of the full story and how the Barbados news media betrayed their trust. On that day, Ian Bourne will be known far and wide as the only Bajan journalist with enough integrity and professionalism to follow up on a story that made everyone else so afraid.

Do the research yourself, make up your own mind…

  1. Young women doing porn

Free Press: You are good. Thank you for not letting up. Inniss is a pimp because he made (makes?) money from young women doing porn.

  2. A policy holder

Well if all or even half of what is written about Donville Inniss is even half true the fellows in the insurance businesses pale morally by comparison as they seem to have dealt only with dollars

  3. Ian Bourne dishonesty

I was at the same lunch time lecture and sat between the Minister and Ian Bourne. Ian was constantly bashing the QEH and its nurses in particular. He kept referring to the nurses as incompetent and useless. the Minister politely apologized to Mr Bourne for any bad experiences he may have had at the QEH. He went on further to state that it is not fair to say that all nurses are bad.

I found Mr. Bourne’s conduct to be quite despicable.

Ian Bourne then proceeded to state that he will publish his views on QEH and some dealings in there; to which the Minister looked at him and laughingly said “Ian, you are always writing some nasty story on the blogs.”

The light banter between the Minister and Ian Bourne, before, during and after the lecture did not give me the impression that there was any hostility between the two of them. It certainly was not an attack as BFP is pointing out.

Whilst my perspective does not change BFP position on the Minister, I certainly find the basis upon which you launch this persistent and consistent attack rather personal and wicked.

I am now convinced that Ian Bourne is VERY CLOSELY related to BFP and is a major instigator of these nasty articles.

I feel sorry for him – his report of the luncheon shows that he is not of sound mind.

  4. LOL LOL LOL Is this Verdun? You also got a lash in my item, however be that as it may or may not, you’re conveniently avoiding, I have the ENTIRE audio from beginning to end of conference. That’s why I keep my raw footage as well!

There may have been good natured banter BEFORE the conference where I stated in my article how I told Inniss to watch what he says as I started to record, but I left in a fairly silent rage once the lecture was concluded, wondering if I should sue or not?

By The Way – what about the screenshot of my Facebook message? You said nought there, your party slip is showing – the sad thing is there are so many suspects that day that even Claud Rains or Robert Downey Jr would have a hard time figuring out which one was guilty of the above diatribe… Maybe it’s like the Orient Express? ALL are guilty! Or is that you Donville? 😉

  5. 131

Donville and Ian two harrison College boys, same form but different class.
    I support Ian 100% !!!
Donville is guilty as sin !!! DLP is guilty as sin !!!
This will be the biggest loss in DLP history……Bye Bye.

Ian you expect Donville Inniss to owe up this perversion. I mean come on. We had a former prime minister who dump his wife for a younger wife and we excepted that. We had a former minister who has been accused and for which alleges have been meted. is supposed to be one of them ” living on the down low men.” He even got vexed and walk out a studio when a simple question about his wealth was asked. He got some good money for it too. We got a very articulate and prominent minster who like girls and is alleged to have thrown some good licks in them having the balls to do so. In fact we had one minister asking other ministers to declare their sexual orientations. Now if you got all this going on and obviously seems to be accepted by society, because no one dares to challenge or touch these elites, you honestly think that trying to expose Inniss’s perversion will make any difference on my little rock. Come on. Ever since this story was told what has happened to Innis. Not one darn thing. And you know what; not one darn thing will ever happen in a 1000 years to come. You know: Right and Wrong is a matter for the small people. The big people can do all manner of shite and get away with it. With them wrong can be right and right can be wronged.

  7. countryview

The nice thing about publishing proven facts that skins out the high and mighty is that they can’t successfully sue and if they do, it just costs them more. Publish the facts and lay them low!

  8. 96

The minister should have taken the opportunity to answer the question.
    I find him guilty.

  9. Silverwood

I looked it over and did the enquiries online at domaintools.com. there is no doubt that donville inniss was into the porn industry in a major way. He should provide the details or withdraw from public service. I don’t understand how he can be a candidate next election with this on the internet. It is true, and Inniss should come clean.

  10. 445

Inniss will never ‘come clean’ He’s protected.

  11. countryview

Inniss never takes off his Teflon suit…

  13. clean

Inniss never countered these BFP articles. If they were not true he could launch an lawsuit or demand that WordPress take it down. He hasn’t done this. Why?

We know why! The posts here at BFP are accurate and truth. Well Mr. Inniss? You going to take them down? You can’t, can you?

    Inniss: time to come clean.

  14. George

It is a shame that we do not have more Ian Bourne’s, they are few Bajan with balls, keep up the good work Mr. Bourne

  15. Jetset

I can’t believe how this information is still available on the web (and it is) showing Donville Inniss was a major figure in the online pornography industry and the Bajan news media and the voters and the opposition seem afraid to speak the truth! Are things that bad in Barbados?

  16. Knight of the Long Knives

I searched domain tools and find no direct connection to Mr. Inniss perhaps someone can post a link for me. As I posted directly on Ian’s site, it is good to see a reporter asking the tough questions and I hope to see him taking that to the other side even though I know he is rather fond of Mia Mottley. We need zero tolerance of corruption in this island.

  17. George

We should rename our Politicians ” THE UNTOUCHABLES ”
King of the Knights……Zero tolerance of corruption ???? in Barbados , you got to be joking…..Corruption is like smoking weed, once you brain is screwed up it can’t come back .

  18. George

Country View…….Did you mean rubber suit ??

  19. tickyboo

    @Knight of the Long Knives

Inniss has removed his name from all current domains, but his name cannot be removed from the historical records. To view those at Domain Tools, you have to buy a paid-level account. Then feed in some of the domain names he is associated with and go back in the historical records.

If you feed in Orgasm.com you’ll see that one of Inniss’ companies was the registered owner of Orgasm.com and that he personally was the contact for the domain name. Also go into the US and Canadian trademark records as it says in a couple of BFP articles and you’ll again see Inniss and his companies registering the Orgasm brand trademark.

Then go to Orgasm.com and Orgasmcash.com and you’ll see what kinds of websites Mr. Inniss was (is still?) engaged in: pregnant women sex, teen sex, animal sex. Inniss made money from all of them.

  20. Clunk

I don’t understand the reluctance of the other Caribbean newspapers to tackle this story. All the evidence is online. It’s true, Inniss was a porn master. Why is everyone so scared?

  21. Manchester disunited

    @jetset

“Donville Inniss was a major figure in the online pornography industry and the Bajan news media and the voters and the opposition seem afraid to speak the truth! Are things that bad in Barbados?”

Yes they are that bad in the Bajan news services.

  22. George

Clunk………….This is Barbados……We have to.thank BFP to let us know what is going on around us, and Ian Bourne who ain’t frighten to talk.

  23. Gages advisory

I don’t know what is more disgusting: Inniss doing what he did or the newspapers for covering it up.

  24. sliptalk

Nice touch of class with the pregers women porn, Minister Inniss!

  25. rastaman

And to think this is Barbados’ Minister of Health!!!!!
