This Is The Queen Elizabeth Hospital After 14 Years Of BLP Government

“I don’t know how much the government spent on Cricket World Cup, but every time I go past that big white elephant Kensington Oval I think of my son and all the tears and fear over that filthy, falling down slum we call our hospital.

BFP, please print the photos of the QEH toilet next to the hundred million dollar Kensington Oval, and let people decide if our government made the correct choice on how to spend that hundred million dollars…” (Story Link Here)

What Will Bajans Choose Tonight?

Will Barbados choose a fresh start with a DLP Government committed to introducing Integrity Legislation in the first 100 days…

Regardless of if you’re a B, D or P, its a wonderfull feeling, that all of us as bajans, could get up this morning and peacefully go to cast our vote with out looking over your shoulder to see if someone was going to shoot or beat you up.

    BFP Comments

    So true, crossroads!

Think of those poor souls in Jamaica or Trinidad. I think that the peacefulness of our elections is a reflection in large of the Bajan culture and the typical Bajan character. What say all?

  2. Red Lake Lassie

It wasn’t much of a campaign because O$A called the election over Christmas and cancelled the debates. Coward.

  3. frankology

BFP. Check with the professional touch of BU and its Election Coverage. Why the continuation of the QEH saga. Is this the same picture which was used already. Did anyone when and check if this problem has been corrected. Let’s try and get the wrongs corrected.

Yes, BU has done a wonderful job with their coverage and graphic layout.

Now… about the QEH… NO… we have not checked to see if anyone repaired the washroom after our feature article. Assuming that the hospital did repair the wall and clean up the filth after we published the article – in your mind, does that excuse the corruption and mismanagement that caused the situation?

The saga at the QEH continues throughout that institution because our BLP government chose to spend half a billion dollars or more on Cricket World Cup and couldn’t even install lights at Kensington Oval… while we take our children to that filthy hole of a “hospital”.

Half a billion on Cricket while old ladies haul water from wells and use pit toilets like their great grandmothers did.

Yes, frankology… Tonight, more than ever, the past 14 years, the QEH, the corruption and the waste are all relevant.

Sorry we don’t have pretty colours and photos on our chart. We’ll try harder to please you next time.

  4. Hants

BFP…you have been consistent in discussing serious issues.

An Election does not change the fact that the QEH is in a state of disrepair in spite of the fact that we built a cricket stadium for the price of a new hospital or a completely refurbished QEH.

Frankology can open a second window on his computer and watch BU pretty graphics all night.

  5. Coolman

As the first votes come in, the numbers I am hearing, I’ll stick my neck out and call a landslide already.

Benn giving Owen a fair run, against an incumbent PM, that is something.

    It’s over.

  6. Hants

Sounds like Mascoll in trouble early.

  7. Bajanboy

Looks like Lynch is being linched.

  8. cherry2enpowered

DLP out front. Only Mia have a running start.

  9. bajangurlllll79

who won for St. Michael North, anybody know?

    BFP comments…

Looks like Francis Depeiza (DLP) quite handily over incumbent Ronald Toppin

  10. Haven’t heard about that “cupid” person

  11. cherry2enpowered

Mr Boxill just admitted that Wickam’s poll historically is the better one and more superior than theirs and BELLE is silence as a lamb.
This is resigning to the fact that the DLP will form the next g’ment.

  12. 2 Cents

Can’t wait for all these board resignations as well as the clean up of these extravagant overseas consulates, embassies and other offices

  13. 2 Cents

I would like to take this opportunity to solute all those brave souls who shrugged off any fears of possible BLP backlash and went into the frontlines in order to secure what clearly appears a resounding DLP win.

You are the real heroes of this historic day!

  14. Bush Tea

This result is a big win for the integrity of the people of Barbados.
    I was worried for a while…..

    God bless Barbados.

  15. 2 Cents

I trust that the DLP camp is cognizant of the movement of files, property and other assets at the various government offices.

An immediate lock down should be be implemented.

  16. the cynic

Ok, this is gonna to be long. As far as I am concerned the defination of a politician = lying, cheating, stealing, not to be trusted. The opposite of integrity is a politician.

So DT and the whole campaign is a farce! I too was ready for a change since power corrupts.

The BLP has done a lot of good things, and have totally messed up on others.

So I was ready for a change. but then I thought is this gonna be a change for the better or the worse??

Then the Dems bullshit campaign about “Integrity” and I will not lie, cheat nor steal. Come on!!!!!!!!! Then why r u a politician.

Boasting about integrity, yet still slandering. Mind u I found the comics funny like hell, but jeez the ones about Mia being the “2nd man” and her bite is worse than her bark. We all know what that is about, but is this right?? What about integrity.

Sorry but even tho I was ready for a change, I just couldn’t take the bullshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I didn’t bother to vote!!!

  17. Yardbroom

This will be Thompson’s triumph, a masterstroke of genius, playing a cool hand, and playing it at the right time, when it matters. He has shown what real “leadership” is.

The hitherto “invisible people” have had their say.

  18. the cynic

Well it seems as tho the Dems are winning. Well good luck to Bim. Hopefully the “honest, integrity, won’t lie, cheat nor steal” Dems will keep their word – ha ha. What politician does??? Whoever gets into power, will be corrupted, that is a given!!! I suppose it’s who will do less stealing.

I sincerely hope that they can do better for the people!!!!!!!!!! And won’t us in the same position they did with David as Minister of Finance, as they did when they were in power.

Hopefully, they can clean up Bajan politics, which they obviously have not in their campaigns – still lots of slander, but then we Bajans love a good show.

    Dirty Politics sicken me!

Clean up your act politicians! And run this country properly!!!!!!

  19. the cynic

Defination of a politician = to lie, cheat, steal. never trust a politician. Opposite of politician is integrity.

Hopefully the Dems, will keep their word. But then what politician does?

Power corrupts and no doubt as soon as the dems get into power, we will see who steals, lies, and cheats.

    the cynic,

Funny, all of my editions of the Oxford dictionary from 1994 – 2007 gives that definition as a “BLP Politician”

  21. the cynic

Funny, my defination includes “All politicians” Bees and Dems.

  22. What happen in st andrew, st.james south ,st joseph had a recount .why st andrew recount at 10 oclock the 16th.? sounds fishy to me.

  23. Lady Anon

NC…it could be the time the recount would have to start. Given the fact that there was too much back and forth, perhaps the counters themselves need a rest and to come back with fresh eyes and minds

I am not too cynical yet, but I believe the boxes will be adequately guarded for the recount to take place.

  24. BFP – I am curious, the spammers have seemed to fallen off the radar on their idiot shadow sites, did the attacks continue last night or have they evaporated like dew under a noonday sun?

  25. Goodmorning yes we must congratulate the voters,it shows safety are in numbers,i was praying the masses come to the party an they did.remember owin “who go against him do so at they own peril”,let them victimize the blows in the grass lastnite. we will pray for the dlp, what a mess to clean up.

  26. NUT CRACKER

I recieved reports that the BlP were paying as much as 800 dollars for a vote

  27. Justice

Now that DLP have taken the reins from the BLP corrupt government. All of us who read BFP should forward the necessary supporting evidence onto his offices. Starting with the Ronja Juman matter this is right up his proposed integrity legistlature. Leacock and Dottin should be held accountable as the first batch along with Harwood’s flunkies asap. For those who support this you may forward your urgings for justice to Mr. Thompson at thompy@caribsurf.com
Come on people lets get justice for Ronja Juman and make these corrupt people of our former government accountable NOW!!!!

  28. The Chosen One

The 1st 365 days should be interesting.

  31. Logged & noted BFP, you should see their ghost town, riddled with laughter and derision – no love there… Not even 4-love! In their own back side, eh?

  32. Ian these people dont sound Barbadian. These people who are being paid to do this we should ask out friend David to carry out an investigation of the monies, I think they are going to end up being in the press themself, and i mean for treasonable offences, you are in a commonwealth country, all of these people cannot be Barbadian, and you all CIA agents stop taking the money, you all will end up being ruined.

  33. De Orginal

Thank You my people you have spoken. Now its time to get down too business. Accountability, Integrity and Transparency. A note to Prime Minister Thompson congratulations to you and your party. To whom much is given much is expected.
