A pregnant woman was stoned to death by her own family in front of a Pakistani high court for marrying the man she loved.

Nearly 20 members of the woman’s family, including her father and brothers, attacked her and her husband with batons and bricks in broad daylight before a crowd of onlookers in front of the high court of Lahore, police investigator Rana Mujahid said.

The police stood by and watched it happen.

Hundreds of women are murdered every year in Muslim-majority Pakistan in so-called “honor killings” carried out by husbands or relatives as a punishment for alleged adultery or other illicit sexual behavior…

    Old news BFP, but no less horrific. The husband also apparently killed his first wife to be with the one was stoned to death.

    These people are so barbaric no words can express, & to top it all U. K. & U. S. A. are giving hard earn tax dollars to these barbaric people as aid.

    This was no more a Muslim killing than the Jim Jones massacre in Guyana a Christian massacre. Barbaric backward people commit barbaric backward acts. Period.
    Honour killings are cultural in nature and not religious which is why it is unheard of in Indonesia the country with the largest Muslim population. It is rather an Arab/ south Asian cultural custom.

    Don’t tolerate this in any shape or form by indulgently calling it ‘cultural’. in my opinion, many of these people are intellectually subnormal or mad due to the common practice of generations of inter-marriage.
