Meet Barbados’ future King: His Royal Highness Prince George

Prince George Birth

Kate and, what’s his name? Oh yeah, William. Anyway they are a nice young couple across the pond and they have just had their first little one, a boy. His name is George Alexander Louis. (Yahoo! News story here)

George for his great-great grandfather, Louis for his great-uncle (?) who was murdered by the Irish Republican Army and Alexander for some distant relatives in Scotland.

Unlike many other children born on the same day in Barbados and around the world, George will never be hungry for long. He will never have malaria or gum disease. George will never experience parasitic worms in his eyes or have trouble finding clean water to drink.

George will have soap available to him every day. A good school and tuition for anything he wants to do are a given. Should he ever have a health problem it will be spotted as early as humanly possible and then treated immediately with the resources of an entire nation. George is already wealthy and as he grows he will have real power and authority (the two are different, you know). As with his wealth, George won’t have to earn that power and authority because it will simply be handed to him.

This little one is truly blessed, and good for him and his proud parents.

George’s task now is to use his blessings to change the world for the better. That’s up to him – he can work hard at using his position to advance the human race, or he can choose to do little or nothing in that regard.

And to those who begrudge the fact that little George has such a good start in life – I remind you that the privileged children of the Bajan political class (and elsewhere) are born with the same silver spoon of assets, family influence and political ties to help them along in life. The difference is only in the size of the assets and influence.

Some of those who are critical of the Royals tend to forget that Barbados has its own royal class, and if the test is to judge how much good they have done with their blessings, our island’s royal class has already failed the test.

Poor little George didn’t choose to be born into Royalty.

He’ll never be able to play out in the street, build camps in the woods with neighbours and school friends, cycle down the pavement to drop in on family and friends, be allowed to play out with friends until the street lamps come on, catch the train or bus somewhere with friends to spend his saved up pocket money, go to the cinema with friends without grown-ups for the first time, experience the thrill of wishing so hard for what he wants for Christmas, and getting it, have the daily joy of mum and dad coming home from work, walking the dog across the fields, sleepovers, back-packing around Thailand, getting his first wage packet, hanging out with friends in the park after school on a sunny day …

He may have been born with many privileges, such as wealth and a life long duty and ever watchful critical eye of the world’s media, but will he ever be truly free to do what he wants to do? Just look at the life his Great Grandmother has lead, and look how miserable she seems to be. Would you choose that life? I think you’re comparing one extreme to the other when you cast judgement over his good fortune (a blessing which he had no control over).

At least he has wonderful, loving parents. I hope he can enjoy his life despite being born into a life of duty, expectation and responsibility. And I hope not too many people hold it against him how lucky he was to be born into the Royal Family. I don’t consider him that lucky.

Having not to worry about a job , paying bills, etc will be a big strain on the poor lad. Give me a break, the whole Monarchy should be abolished. Complete waste of taxpayer’s money.

The UK monarchy makes millions of pounds for the UK. Our monarchy cost us money every day…

the birth of George has generated £1.5bn instantly in sales of memorabilia/souvenirs – calculate the VAT at 20% on that ,he has already generated enough tax to pay for any civil list payments for his lifetime .
So all you socialist republicans can stay bleating about a waste of taxpayers money🙂

Hopefully the new king in waiting will actually live long enough to assume the throne, (if 50 or so years from now there will be a throne left to assume, still a country called Great Britain over which to reign and there is still some type of life form that passes for “intelligent” life on earth).

    By Paul Craig Roberts

Amitai Etzioni has raised an important question: “Who authorized preparations for war with China?” (link to article in original PCR post). Etzioni says that the war plan is not the sort of contingency plan that might be on hand for an improbable event. Etzioni also reports that the Pentagon’s war plan was not ordered by, and has not been reviewed by, US civilian authorities. We are confronted with a neoconized US military out of control endangering Americans and the rest of the world.

Etzioni is correct that this is a momentous decision made by a neoconized military. China is obviously aware that Washington is preparing for war with China. If the Yale Journal knows it, China knows it. If the Chinese government is realistic, the government is aware that Washington is planning a pre-emptive nuclear attack against China. No other kind of war makes any sense from Washington’s standpoint. The “superpower” was never able to occupy Baghdad, and after 11 years of war has been defeated in Afghanistan by a few thousand lightly armed Taliban. It would be curtains for Washington to get into a conventional war with China.

When China was a primitive third world country, it fought the US military to a stalemate in Korea. Today China has the world’s second largest economy and is rapidly overtaking the failing US economy destroyed by jobs offshoring, bankster fraud, and corporate and congressional treason.

The Pentagon’s war plan for China is called “AirSea Battle.” The plan describes itself as “interoperable air and naval forces that can execute networked, integrated attacks-in-depth to disrupt, destroy, and defeat enemy anti-access area denial capabilities.”

Yes, what does that mean? It means many billions of dollars of more profits for the military/security complex while the 99 percent are ground under the boot. It is also clear that this nonsensical jargon cannot defeat a Chinese army. But this kind of saber-rattling can lead to war, and if the Washington morons get a war going, the only way Washington can prevail is with nuclear weapons. The radiation, of course, will kill Americans as well.

Nuclear war is on Washington’s agenda. The rise of the Neocon Nazis has negated the nuclear disarmament agreements that Reagan and Gorbachev made. The extraordinary, mainly truthful 2012 book, The Untold History of the United States by Oliver Stone and Peter Kuznick, describes the post-Reagan breakout of preemptive nuclear attack as Washington’s first option.

    Thankyou.

  10. Prince George isn’t blessed, neither are his parents; they’re privileged, they get to live on the public’s dime, a public that, though in the 21st century, still feel the need decree others better than or above them. Human-being are mad beyond comprehension, sheep beyond saving.

@barbadostripadvisor the English abolished slavery before the U.S. is that all you can focus on? It’s time to move forward and we all have to live in this world together – princes, plumbers, podiatrists, policemen, producers, priests, psychiatrists, pied pipers, prisoners, prostitutes, porn stars, politicians and paupers. The Atlantic Slave Trade has been over for a long time and it was not just the English responsible, it was the French, Spanish, Dutch and African so don’t just blame the royals. The royals do much for their country. The English Royals bring in 500 million a year. Maybe Barbados would do better promoting this than promoting an alcoholic, foul-mouthed gangsta pop star but Noooooo, tek down Nelson and that will make everyone feel much better, that will change the past and the pain and suffering of the Africans that were sold out by their own people.

Thank you to those who tell the truth. These stupid black people try to fool other stupid black people. It was their own black race that started the slave trade to the new world. The whites arrived and the blacks who could not run that fast were caught by other BLACK people and traded for shells and rum.
And this will continue for ever BLACK will destroy BLACK forever !!!
Keep thinking that White people give a FCUK about you, we do not !!
We are focused on getting ahead in live, you are focused on getting behind in live.

Carry on long living the slave trade of the BLACK mans mind !!!

  13. Anonymous187

Whoah, from one extreme to the other. That’s not true that white people don’t care about black people. Maybe you don’t. I care about all in the human race because we all have to live together on the earth. We should all try to get along. Why would the Nation Newspaper give someone a front page story today about taking down the Nelson Statue on Trafalgar Square in Barbados? Why would they promote such racial hatred? How does the statue represent slavery and oppression as quoted? It’s what they want to think. The White House was built by slaves, do you hear people wanting to tear it down? Do the Obamas whine about the Atlantic Slave Trade? No, they are trying to make their country a better place for the impoverished and downtrodden. All this anti-white talk will drive tourists away even more.

I am always amazed at individuals who can only see one side of an accouting equation. One simple question to the bloke you shared with us the 1.5b generated. Do you have a figure for the lost in productivity over the past two weeks resulting from this puppy show?? and that is just for starters.

  15. Anonymous187

It’s not like the entire country was on maternity leave so that should probably just be the baby Daddy wages who took 2 weeks off.

  16. Town Planning Justice

The value of the millions upon millions of lost man/woman hours from every aspect of the British commercial sector resulting from the two weeks of media madness has no value to the British economy. Amazing!

  17. Anonymous187

All the foreign media that were there from all over the world had to pay for accommodation and they had to eat, I see that as more $$$. You are not making any sense. The media did not shut down Burberry, Marks and Spencer, Harrods etc. so what are you talking about?

  18. Town Planning Justice

I have now spent 25 minutes on a very simple concept. Since I am at work (working for maself Bruggadung) and should be productive, I simply cannot afford in this economy to spend anymore time discussing royalty. B-George, that would be like giving (0.25hours x $60 i would make in an hour) = $15 to them up dey in de mother country. NOW IF YOU DON’T GET THIS I CANNOT HELP YOU ANY FURTHER.

  19. Anonymous187

Well maybe after hours you can discuss it some more if you like. I was busy too the day the Prince was born and I heard hours later when I checked my email.

What the world needs now, is love, sweet love. That’s the only thing that there’s much too little of.

Have you ever heard about the fisherman white crabs & black crabs? This is how I heard the story, this fisherman came in with two buckets of crabs, one white & one black, He covered down the white crabs, when asked why didn’t you cover up the black crabs? he answered don’t worry about them, they won’t crawl away, because as soon as one get to the top of the bucket, the others will pull him down. I covered the white one because they will help each other to get out. Please take the moral of this story and Barbadians help each other, & love each other. What’s past is past, what’s in the future only God can tell, we are in the present, so live each day as if it is your last!!!!!!!!

  22. 126

Thank you Ralph Johnson for telling the truth !!!
Ask any manager what it is like to manage black people in this country and they will tell you the truth. BLACK bajans are very very lazy !!!
And when I say any manager I mean black managers too….the truth is the truth.
