The shame of once-proud Barbados race-horses: lingering death, starvation, neglect

Shameful!

These are some of the horses I had to put to sleep. These horses once graced the Garrison Savannah. Their owners can’t feed them any more so they give them to anyone who would take them.

THIS IS HOW THEY SPEND THE REMAINDER OF THEIR LIVES.

Say something about this disgrace.

You can easily tell a story about a country based on the way it treats its children, the elderly and animals. Shame on you Barbados

One need not look too far to see the cruelty towards animals which exists to great extent on this little island.
The Animal Cruelty Act is and has been in place for some time in Barbados. What exactly is the challenge for the Rspca to address this problem?http://barbadosparliament.com/htmlarea/uploaded/File/Bills/2007/The%20Prevention%20of%20Cruelty%20to%20Animals%20(Amendment)%20Act%202007.pdf

  4. just want to know

Just as how Bajans treat their animals, the same way they treat their people, especially the elderly & their children. You just have to go to Brighton beach to see how they run these emaciated animals along the beach, regardless who is on the beach, visitors looking on in horror and shaking their heads in disbelief.

    Stumbled upon this thread.
I cannot sleep. My blood is boiling.
How extremely sad to read of the starvation
and neglect of former racehorses in Barbados
Haw can this be allowed to happen???
    These magnificent creatures deserve better.
What is the man who calls himself prime
Minister of Barbados doing about this ???

Rastaman,he must be a very very cold hearted man to be able to close his eyes and sleep. He’s got the power to do something about it,but chooses to ignore his responsibilities, what a weak person he is,

I cannot believe the way these animals are treated. !! When will people understand we are honoured to be in the presence of such beautiful animals on this planet. We have a responsibility to all animals , they cannot look after themselves we took them away from there natural state. What is wrong with these people are they blind!!or just stupid. The people who can truly help are out of control blinded by greed. What will it take to make people understand . Do not have an animals if you cannot look after them properly. There is no law to say you have to have any animal . If there was no people on this planet it would be a better place.
