Harlisuccess…We miss your comments about the wonderful job Harlequin is doing in the Caribbean…Redefining Luxury, I believe is the expression.

  2. Sid

It’s beautiful isn’t it? I just wish I was there!

  3. Mark Fenty

You’re quite right sid, it’s beautiful, but only the “Suckers” fell for the Com lol.

  4. Not Taken

I posted this in an earlier thread, but think it is worth repeating here.

I am just an interested observer; but am wondering – when we might hear a statement from someone in Government, Town and Country Planning, Tourism, or other official source, about this scheme which is an international embarrassment to Barbados’ reputation as a place to to invest in property. Not that it is likely to matter to those who have invested their hard earned funds with HP for a unit in Merricks, but what is status of application for planning permission for the 5 Star Resort

  5. true

Harlequin” is only doing this to Barbados, take a look at the other Caribbean Islands…

  6. yatinkiteasy

H Studio Building today showed an empty parking lot, and a “For Rent ” sign, by Terra Caribbean. Boy that was quick!
H Hotel site locked up and empty.

  7. 211

Nasty piece of work you are Fenty…you fanny

  8. donkeyowner

Donkey, shut up and back down you cretinous moron…you can’t spell, choose the right words and are clueless about grammar…all hard on the heels of your babbling like the broken fucktard you are…now obey your owner…boy.

  9. Hothersal Hangout

    Donkey Red Fenty, hahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa

  10. noise for noise sake a la Fox

Speaking of policing BFP, the last comment by his holiness MF adds nothing to a sane discussion. Perhaps, he should be blocked and sent babbling to perdition or BU, where he belongs?

  11. donkeyowner

Let’s vote on blocking Fenty…all those in favor say so…we’ll let BFP decide on the results.

  12. Mr Blue

It looks like I’ve got you all wrong Mark. I had you pegged as some one who would interfere with chior boys. Your interest in girls has me taken a back.

  13. Cycles

How many resorts and hotels can be built in Barbados? Stop the madness! Grow some food. The glory days are gone.

  14. Croix Du Femur

How many construction firms in Barbados work on a Sunday? #justsaying What does all the anti-Ames hype prove? Let the UK’s task force do its work, is your whining speeding it up? In fact is this not prejudicial for any litigation? SMDH

  15. 211

    @Mark Fenty
I have a son, not a daughter – no doubt you don’t have children, sorry you possibly do – but not in a parental way!! 😉

You are a very disturbed individual indeed.

  16. BBaywatch

I think that there may be more than one person posting as ‘Mark Fenty’ – looks as if the HP sicko’s are are up to their nasty little tricks again.

  17. donkeyowner

BBaywatch…I don’t think so…the person Mark Fenty has a distinctive style of writing…spelling, grammar, thought expression, view point, rebuttal style etc. Its one person, and that person has been around for some time.

  18. lightup

@ donkeyowner: couldn’t help miself, had to copy this, its just bewttiful and says it better than i can. Thanks hear.
Fenty, you have given us all a clear view of who you are and what you are not….a person who thinks well and expresses themselves in a clear, lucid manner. You are such a failure. Keep writing and read everybody’s opinion about you, not just mine. Its no coincidence you have NEVER had “one” person applauding your horrible efforts or speaking in your defense. Not “one” person should tell someone as dense as you something. And that would be you are a moronic troll.

New information about our action against Harlequin Property.
We still have available places left in the 3 meetings next week, Tuesday and Wednesday, in London to help the investors with the Harlequin. The QC, a top UK lawyer (with a track record in Civil Fraud) as well as a top insolvency practitioner will be present at the meeting to give individual advice and guidance to each client’s case. The initial meeting is free of charge and if you decide to stay with us the cost will be kept to a minimum. If you can’t attend our meeting we can still represent you.

So the continuous speculation has now got its first casualties. Looks like employees and construction workers in Barbados are the first to loose their jobs. Well done BFP. As the people from the SFO said back in January “dont discuss this interview, peoples jobs and livelyhoods still depend on HP” Well its ironic that its Bajans who are the 1st to suffer. As its been stated many times, no one has actually lost any money yet. Well they have now. Well done all!

  21. 183

That’s right FDNRM you keep telling yourself that – it’s the speculation that’s done it.

  22. yatinkiteasy

@FDNRM…pathetic…blaming BFP and a few commentators reporting and showing photos of what they see on the ground, for Harlequin`s utter failure to build the resorts they have sold over the past 6 years or so.
“No one has actually lost any money”….what a joke! People lost money when they handed it over to a builder who never built anything before, a developer who never developed anything before, and to a company run by a twice bankrupt “businessman”.

  23. sith

Didn’t the head of the Barbados Bank recently say that Merricks was going to be a major source of foreign exchange in 2013. Probably got that information from Town and Country Planning.

Perhaps we could get clarification on the facts.

  24. Eddie Lizzard2

    @ FatchettDNRM formerly 36
‘No one has lost any money yet.’
Keep up! Hundreds of local workers and contractors have not been paid for years. There are hundreds of very worried UK investors who have not received their payments from Harlequin over the past two to three months (except you of course). There are 800-plus investors who would like their deposits back because their contracts have been breached. Not to mention the police investigation, the FSA warnings, the SFO, another accountancy firm resigning, no audited accounts, etcetera etcetera.

You claim to have come to a special understanding with Harlequin regarding your contract which has been sorted out to your satisfaction. As far as I can see, you are the only investor who claims to be receiving a rental income. Why do you persist in posting such misleading comments? You have never even been to Merricks. Why do you continue to blame everything on negative speculation? The responsibility for the ‘casualties’ as you call them, non-payment and not one resort having been completed lies directly with Harlequin.

  25. Eddie Lizzard2

    @ sith,
I’m not quite sure if you are being facetious but this BFP link should give you some clarification.

The biggest problem the Merricks site poses is the lack of water. They can’t even mix up a bit of mortar without having to buy in a lot of expensive water. See those big black plastic things in the photos? They are water tanks. I understand that the planning department wanted Harlequin to sort out the water problem before they could start building. Nothing happened!

Meanwhile, this week the local people in the area have suffered serious water outages.

  26. St George's Dragon

A few points of clarification. Yes the photos were taken on a Sunday; agreed, not many contractors work on a Sunday and certainly not a Public Holiday. The point of taking them was to show that apart from perhaps the black tanks, no work appears to have been done at Merricks for months. If you want to check this, look at these photos from August 2012: https://barbadosfreepress.wordpress.com/2012/08/23/harlequin-barbados-more-promises-to-news-media-but-wheres-the-action/
    or from early March 2013:
No jobs have been lost at Merricks because of the “continuous speculation” as there were no jobs there in the first place.
The same applies to the H-Hotel where nothing much has happened for months either – including today, a weekday when there was absolutely no-one on site. Perhaps they are all on unpaid leave like the staff at the H-Studio.

  27. Been had

@FDNRM your comments that no one has lost any money yet are as laughable as you still defending Harlequin. give it up now! you know your fighting a losing battle.

  28. Fatchett does not represent me.

@EL2 keep up son. My rental return has been confirmed by Mr Fatchett. It’s not fictitious. How do you know I have not been to Merricks? I was at Barbados in Nov/Dec last year. I think you have been in the sun too much. And I have never referred to anybody as “casualties” Stop making up posts just to fill up space.

  29. St George's Dragon

    @ FDNRM
Re casulaties – there may be someone posting under your name then:
    FDNRM April 3, 2013 at 12:21 pm:
“So the continuous speculation has now got its first casualties.”

  30. Fatchett does not represent me.

@st George’s Draggon, yes that was my comment. I was referring to workers losing their jobs in the Caribbean due to the continuous negative press. I understood EL2 comment as referring to investors.

  31. yatinkiteasy

Now The Press is responsible for Harlequin`s failure!

  32. Fatchett does not represent me.

@Yatinkiteasy, “press” covers a multitude of different formats, including the bullshit Panorama program and ambulance chasing solicitors.

  33. yatinkiteasy

    Where there is smoke………

  34. Fatchett does not represent me.

There is someone with a cough.

  35. 183

Again, “bullshit Panorama” programme is a slightly disingenuous representation of things; there is at present an allegation that has been made about the conduct of one of the producers of the programme, there has been no suggestion that there is anything erroneous about the content of the broadcast.

Your pathological obsession with “ambulance chasing solicitors” is very odd — I’m still grappling with your Kafkaesque notion of ambulances attending accidents that they also somehow caused.

  36. Fatchett does not represent me.

@Anon 1.51 how would you know about the content of the program? Don’t you think potential bribery shows desperation by the producers. That coupled with the gutter press approach by doorstepping a PM and DA on the steps of a plane? And my “pathological obsession” with ambulance chasers ( bit of an exaggeration there) stems from the fact that do you really think they are interested in the well being of investors? Are they hell, quick buck for the “claims are us” crowd. To openly advertise their services on BFP shows a serious lack of credibility.

  37. Been had

Fdnrm, you may have shown your papers to RL but that proves nothing. everyone you speak to at Harlequin has an apartment. Ames fat boy bum buddy D Dalligan has told me he has 3.
And you think ”doorstepping” DA is a big deal?? that con man deserves to be banged up for a long time.

  38. Beggars Belief

It is quite usual for investigative journalists to employ all kinds of undercover methods to gain the information they require. If you think of the hidden cameras and set ups used on programmes like Rogue Traders you realise that this approach is sometimes necessary to expose companies in the name of public interest. Are you equally opposed to seeing this kind of journalism? I am quite grateful that the BBC uses techniques like this to rid us of people who pretend to repair old people’s roofs or who fly tip our rubbish in beauty spots.

If Panorama had sought interviews but received no reply how were they supposed to raise reasonable questions and get the top guys to give answers to camera? If the company under scrutiny is not renowned for putting accurate and timely information in the public domain are they supposed to just give up? Is that what we expect investigative journalists to do?

  39. Fatchett does not represent me.

@Been Had, “proves nothing” ? You muppet!
@Beggars belief, Panorama is supposed to be a flagship program. SVG PM said “make an appointment at the office” They could’nt be bothered. Rogue traders is a different class of program, it works on confrontation in the street. The Jeremy Kyle of building. SVG PM DID answer Panorama questions but of course BFP did not report that did it.

  40. 183

“Desperation by the producers”? No, I absolutely don’t think it does show that: if it is, indeed, proven to be a bribe (all still just accusations at this stage) it’s about the gentlest one I’ve ever heard of. As it doesn’t seek to misrepresent, or distort, the truth I don’t think it’s much of a big deal. Clutching at straws springs more readily to mind. Frankly, had it not happened in the midst of such a period of such self-castigation at the BBC, I don’t think it would even have been taken particularly seriously at all.

  41. 167

@FDNRM, when all this is over you will miss it – what will you do then when you find out all your defending crap, has resulted in diddly squat? its over, gone finished, the end, kaput.

People will lose money and more – its going to happen – and nothing will stop it.
    Sad but true.

  42. Lay Day

The money is all GONE. Nothing LEFT. Everything has been TAKEN. The Merricks lands are being sold privately? Guess by whom?

  43. Fatchett does not represent me.

@anonymous 8.06 “the gentlest of bribes” get real, a bribe is a bribe. Don’t you understand that people will tell you anything for money? So you condone corruption do you? As for the BBC if they had always taken their public responsibilities seriously then a bribe would not have been seen as the norm. Funny how the accusation of DA giving a bribe to SVG PM is splashed over the press as a no no but it’s ok for the BBC. Double standards yes?

  44. 183

Not really. A bribe to get somebody to do something that they shouldn’t, is quite different than an attempt to get some information based on the vague suggestion of future work. The purity you apply to notions of corruption in this context look fairly ridiculous. In the grand scheme of things, I really wouldn’t call this corruption — there are plenty of things that I would apply that title to, however.

I’m afraid that the line “people will tell you anything for money” is a ludicrous platform on which to attempt to build an argument: if you’re suggesting (as I would imagine you are) that the information that would have emerged would have been intrinsically flawed, you’re on very dodgy ground.

  45. @Fatchett
Don’t listen to anonymous, he speaks as though he knows what he is talking about. The fact of the matter is, all one has to do is to prove that the intentions of the person who is trying to bribe is corrupted and then it is breviary. There is a find line between breviary and persuasion with the intention to gaining information for the exchange of gifts. In a court of law all a prosecutor has to do it provide the actus reus!

  46. In the case of breviary, all one has to established is the fact that the intention of the person who is trying to extort the information is corrupted in nature /actus reus.

  47. Been had

@fdrm, I think you’ll find that you are the real Muppet here for defending your pals/colleges at Harlequin. Ames will not speak to me since I asked for my deposit back a year ago, he’s just a coward who hides behind the Lawyers. I cant wait to see him under pressure, if and when the panorama program gets aired. you haven’t got a leg to stand on, even your other dimwit bum boy pal, yorkie,36, in the know, sicko, etc has deserted you.

  48. Fatchett does not represent me.

@Been Had, you idiot, I am 36, I changed my ID some time ago. If you cannot follow that information then what can you follow? No wonder no one wants to speak to you.

  49. Fatchett does not represent me.

@183, “bribery is an act of giving money or a gift giving that alters the behavior of the recipient” “Bribery constitues a crime” Pretty straight forward to me. But I’m sure you will come up with some justification that bribery is ok.

  50. 180

I didn’t desert him I got banned you daft lad!!

  51. Been had

@Anonymous, where have you been? I’ve missed your sick games pretending to be an investor, trying to get people to complete on BB.
Have you missed your medication again??

  52. Eddie Lizzard2

Is anyone else becoming sceptical at the reliability of FDRM’s (formerly known as 36) posts? His story just doesn’t seem to add up. He tells us that HP rental is his only income when we know that most investors have not been paid anything during the last few months. OK, he received one hundred pounds in travel expenses when he offered to show his documents to Gareth Fatchett of RL. However, it has never been confirmed if they are indeed bona fide or not worth the paper they are printed on. Then after pleading poverty he was on a Caribbean cruise with his sick wife last December 2012 and on stopping at St Vincent visited BB in a taxi. Why didn’t he take the freebie/subsidized investor trip?

He has mounted a vociferous and spiteful campaign against anyone who criticises what he says or catches him out. He also claims to be privilege to insider information at Harlequin and knows about the Irish court case, the BBC Panorama team, the Echo, Mail on Sunday journalists whom he disparages at every opportunity.

I wonder if he is being manipulated by Harlequin personnel?

If you are a worried investor, seek legal advice as soon as possible. You might like to consider joining the discussion forum at http://harlequininvestorgroup.co.uk/

  53. 138

Fdnrm is involved with harlequin in some way, it’s the only thing that makes any sense about his strangely illogical positions. Plus, whilst others cannot even get interest paid, he is receiving a return. Fishy. In the face of overwhelming evidence, he still defends the harlequin mess, saying people should use facts etc when the facts do clearly show harlequin to be liars and to have failed dramatically and to have deceived investors. I agree with you el2. Fdnrm cannot be taken at face value.

  54. Been had

A person who cheats or tricks someone by means of a confidence game.

fraud is intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual; the related adjective is fraudulent, and verb is defraud. Fraud is a crime and a civil law violation, though the specific criminal law definition varies by legal jurisdiction. Defrauding people or entities of money or valuables is a common purpose of fraud.

  55. 180

Been Had – Your going to make yourself ill Anthony! Are you angry and pissed off 24hrs a day!

  56. 180

Eddie – I think if you track back through the posts that Gareth Fatchett confirmed FDNRM’s payment was genuine – dont let the facts get in the way of yours and Angry Anthonys stories. I think you better go around to Anthonys and run him a hot bath and then give him a nice massage with some relaxing oils – thens the rest is up to you, you pair of mincers!

  57. Fatchett does not represent me.

@Eddie Lizzard 2 AKA MORON. I will tell you this AGAIN in CAPITAL LETTERS so you understand

  58. 180

FDNRM – I back you up all the time but you need to chill too! You and Anthony will be on the same ward! Get on the other board too?

  59. Fatchett does not represent me.

@183, To explain ONCE AGAIN. I have a different position to any other investor, so the SFO tell me. That is why I get my rental paid. Why is it that something which you cannot understand has to be wrong?

  60. Fatchett does not represent me.

@Anon 11.37, sorry but my frustration gets the better of me. Posters just cannot be bothered to check their information, just spout anything which comes to mind. I am not on the other board. They will not be in the slightest bit interested in any view/opinion/fact which is contarary to the anti HP viewpoint.

  61. Been had

180,Anonymous, here you go again with your personality disorder.
People like you cant make me ‘angry and pissed off’ I just enjoy the banter, its a walk in the park.
@Fdnrm, seems to be losing the plot hahahahaha go and have a cup of tea and chill out, your fighting a losing battle here.

  62. 180

I have been on and its alot more civil and they do accept 2 sides to a story just not Anthonys abuse, he almost got his first warning the other day for being the cock he is. Somebody had a different opinion to him so he got aggressive. I bet in real life hes a 8stone wet through tart!

  63. Been had

hahahah, i knew it was you ‘whatsthefuss’ another alias eh! rumbled again you Daft twit.

  64. Been had

shall i pop over there and let them know or do you just want to crawl back in your little hole??

  65. Been had

4 posts in a row!!! I think its you who needs to check their blood pressure! make sure you up the dose of your medication before you turn into someone else. hahahahaha you sad and deranged individual.

  66. 183

I agree with you Eddie, it all seems a bit suspicious. It’s all just so determinedly myopic and insistently biased.

As for the homophobic rants that follow — I think that says rather more about the calibre of the people making the defence here than those they are trying to attack.

  67. Short Legs

Who is this Anthony chap? an I missing something.
Maybe FDNRN has some way of getting money out of Ames he would like to share? did you have a word with him? if he did not pay what would happen?

  68. Short Legs

I am correct in assuming that we are now having not only conversations with each other, but now from the investor forum?? and even more Anonymous posts?

By the way was it you last night with that owl mask on 😉

  69. Been had

@Short legs, I am Anthony. we were just discussing how the Loonie bin with the personality disorder who posts in multiple names.
He has just been rumbled ‘again’ on the investor forum posing as ‘whatsthefuss’. this guy is a real fruitcake.

  70. Been had

or girl! probably trans gender, hence the multiple personality’s

  71. 67

Whatsthefuss isnt me big man – I havent posted yet!
But if I were my opinion is as valid as yours? You clearly dont understand that the forum isnt just for anti harlequin its for everyone!
    Your as thick as shit!
Sitting in making a banner for the demonstaration tonight are you! LMFAO
Tell me when your turning up with it at Basildon with your girlfriend I will be there for sure to see that!
    What a drama queen!

  72. Been had

hahahahhaahahahahaahahah. someones rattled! you are a proper C**T.

  73. investor

Just one of the victims of Harlequin. Watch this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDZdfSGxuIA And there are many people like this up and down the country. Hope Dave Ames is proud of himself. .

  74. @Investor,You are correct I set up the meetings and forum for people who needed help so many people have either contacted me directly or had their details passed on to me by a third party this is not and has never been a vendetta against Harlequin it is about how Harlequin treat people who were good enough to invest in Harlequins dream.
I have to say I had a conversation in (2011) firstly with a ex chief inspector (Friend) and then Mr S Terry (Harlequins in- house conveyance solicitor)” about Bribery/Blackmail and they both said the same thing which was just because “you might think you were being blackmailed does not mean that you are” in solicitors language they could/would call it “renegotiating the terms of a contract”. or “negotiating a new contract” or offered a “Financial incentive” It really comes down to whether a person felt intimidated at the time or not, I doubt that Mr Ghent was scared by the very scary email sent by Mr Chapman who is now another of Harlequins victims,at worst Mr Chapman was being “over zealous”
