Iran: Once a gem of Eurasia
This video I created reflects Iran during the time of the Shah when it was a modern, relatively free, and a progressive nation with a blend of western and traditional values which made it a gem in Eurasia. These are a selection of photos from the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Background music is by Iranian singer Googoosh
by Yeshua Peace

You mean that Iranian women aren’t ugly? I thought that’s why they covered them in bags.
Radical Islam isn’t so radical. It should be called ‘normal Islam’. The Iran in the photos was not Islam, it was a watered down Islam in an almost secular society.
Today’s Iran shows the true face of Islam.
Go see the movie Argo when you can. It sets the historical record straight at the beginning.
Iran’s first democracy in the 1950’s was supplanted by the US and Great Britain for oil and a puppet Shaw was then installed. Over time this regime became more and more disconnected with the full diversity of Iran’s citizens
Implemented a savage reign of terror to any dissent and gave birth to the Islamic revolution in that country.
And yes Traydon, the new regime is radical in the 21st century and no, the women are not ugly.
The Islamic Cleric, I’m sorry to have to say, are leading Iran into a darkness as dark as the 15 hundred year Dark Ages of Christianity.
pure propoganda, iran is not in the dark ages unless you watch alot of american television and newsfeeds. the sha was a ruthless american backed dictator and drained the country’s wealth. iran will never bow to western imperialism
