It is ridiculous and hypocritical for black men to voice these thoughts for 2 simple reasons
1 The percentage of black men with white women is many times higher than vice versa.
2 Black women in the US have had to manage families on their own in very many cases.
The history and psychological reasons for this is lengthy BUT the reality can not be denied with the preponderance of evidence. I strongly believe that the US Govt could help by LEGALISING ALL DRUGS thereby destroying the market for illicit activities while simultaneously spending the Tax Revenue received on educating the youngsters in poorer areas instead of jailing them. Jail/ prison is just an ” University” for criminal development.
Having re-organised the system the Govt should then be in a position to come down hard on those that refuse to migrate to a better life. Naturally, Govt should be seriously developing strategies for JOB creation instead of pursuing unrealistic policies like Taxing Multi-national Corps at the 35% Tax rate and then wandering why they set up Head Offices in Ireland at a 12% rate. There are countless other policies that should be considered for imple mentation

In London these days you often see a Black mother with light skin with her kids who are all a lot darker so perhaps their father was Black not White. She’s made a choice not to care about “good hair”. Or has she? London’s so diverse these days but one thing is for sure; most kids with a Black father don’t have Mummy and Daddy living under the same roof. Black people in London now come from all over Africa, not just the West Indies – Somalia, other Muslim countries, Nigeria etc. and many of those groups have very strong family set-ups. I think that I’m properly qualify to put my two- cents in this discussion, since I have been living in the United States of America close to some thirty- years now. I think when we take a comprehensive look at the black family in America, that it is important that we examine it from a historical frame of reference. In other words, we must ask the question, were there: psychological, sociological, political, institutional, and economical forces which have contributed to the breakdown of the black family in America.
We can all agree that there are some fundamental causes behind the disintegration of the black of the family in America. But can we honestly state without equivocation that it is the entire fault the black populace in America. I’m not endeavoring to deflect blame in no way shape or form, away from those individuals who has contravened the sound laws of the state. Nevertheless, I have all argued the fact that for one to examine the present state of affairs, that it is important for one to examine the historical unfolding of any given issue. In short, we have to analyze the etiology rather than the symptomatology of a given issue in order to arrive at a logical, or an impartial conclusion .
Moreover, speaking from individual experience as a young black male who has grown up in the American culture, I can unequivocally state without fair of apology. That the criminal justice system here in America is inequitable to blacks, but more so young male. In other words, young-male are targeted by the Gestapo/ Police unreasonable just because of the color of they skin,or out of mere precedent behavior.
Now, I’m not indifferent to the fact that there is, and has been a vibrant drug culture within the inner cities of America. Where most blacks happen to resided. But, I’m sure by now that we all are quite aware of the fact that where there are drugs. The issue violence, criminal activity, drug addiction, and the whole arson of relates problems that goes along with the illegal drug activity. One can well imagine the kind of detrimental impact drug has had on the black family in America. I’m quite sure by now that the social- science can conjure up a laundry list of cause as to why the black family is in disarray. But we must ask the question, has historical factors reaching back from our enslavement contributed in anyway to the fragmentation of the black family in America.

Frustrated: Black American Men in Brazil (DOCUMENTARY)
All these label that we willing accept to describe ourselves….AfroAmerican….The majority of such of people labeled such aren’t 100% black but rather are mixed with white, indian, latino and other races. Its amazing that no matter what you mix a black person with, the outcome is still something black. These mixed people are also socialized into disregarding their full heritage which isn’t all black. Why can’t they freely embrace their white ancestry? We call them AfroAmerican, why not call the white folk AngloAmerican, or FrancoAmerican…so there are afroamericans to refer to blacks and americans (whites).
All this is rediculous…I thought that people were people, no matter the colour, We all belong to one single race, we all bleed red, we all cry for the same reasons, we all eat, sleep and shit and our all shit smells. We all die and go the same damn place, so whats all this fuss about black on black abuse.
My phenotype is black but I can trace my ancestry to Calcutta, India (Indian ancestry), to Portugal (white ancestry), to France (white ancestry), to Amerindians. I sadly can’t trace my ancestry to Africa, but because I’m dark in complexion, I’m black? Why not mixed why not anything else? Don’t get me wrong, I have no issues with being referred to as black. I have the perfect way of classifying my self. I’m not African or Afro anything, I’m west Indian – thats all I am, thats all I know, thats my identity. I can’t, don’t and won’t attempt to identify with Africans or AfroAmericans whatever that is. I am St. Lucian first and proud and by obvious extension, I am West Indian. If you want to know what a St. Lucian looks like, visit the island, the beautiful Helen of the West, if you want to know what a West Indian looks like visit the West Indies, our own little paradise.
Stop all this stupid back and forth and all this hating. Love yourself, respect yourself and each other, men, women, black, white, blue, green, love every one and stop with all the foolish labels.
Intersting topic, I see part of the problem is all this human classification developed by whites and accepted by blacks and other races. I see blacks still using psyco babble to explain away their behaviors post slavery when its the black man sold his own to the white man as slaves and has up until this day refuses to take responsibility for that episode. We now I hope understand that white race is exploitive and opportunistic and we can develop the skills to avoid and counteract that deviousness, but I see the weakness in the black male who has not yet learned that his race should be protected at all cost, and this is a mindset originating out of Africa before whites arrived. Please google Munsa Mansa dynasty of the 12th and 13th century. I see the black male so consumed with being the village ram and not th good father, how many are copying Obamas style of fatherhood. I see the black male hating to see black females with natrual hair instead happy to see the chemicals, wigs and weaves, killing self confidence in weak black women who purchase these destructive items and continue to enrich other races. I see most black men not wanting higher education or self enrichment because they cannot fathom progress for their own people. I see we blame others too much for our own short comings that can still so easily be exploited.

what I read here in all but a few of these posts is the after effects of misogyny, imperialism, racism and white supremacy (aka psychopath). Brother I don’t really know who you are, but as a Barbadian who has lived in the united states for some twenty five years, this has also been my experience.
There is no doubt that the effects of slavery and racial apartheid has had a detrimental impact on the psyche of the blackman in the western hemisphere. But, in say that, I’m well aware of the fact that we can’t continue to use as am excuse the effects of slavery to validate our inability to work productively and cooperatively togehter as a race of people. We have to liberate ourselves from the mindset that continues to further cause us to create this misunderstanding of each other, and which seems to lead us down this road of self-destruction. Let’s take for example, the people in the Caribbean, about all we know of each other are intricately interwoven stereotypes and innuendo that has been invented by the Caribbean ethos . I’ve heard the saying that when you go to Barbados that you betta not bend down. I’ve heard that Jamaicans are the some of the most ignorant people in the Caribbean and that most people from Trinidad are dishonest. Unfortunately, we have allow these rather distasteful stereotypes to shape our understanding of each other in negative ways . In any instance, I’ve endeavored to contemplate the fundamental resons why we as a people of color continue to see each other in such as unpleasant light. And unfortunately, my studies has led me to concluded that it is all rooted in ignorant and our lack of understanding and love for each other. But. there is hope I believe , because I believe what goes in our minds has the power to change the way we think and behave. And honestly speaking, I think that it is a human problem that is at cause and not a black and white problem per se, because we’re not fully conditioned or determined.
What amazes me is everyone chooses to forget a significant comment on interracial relationships from a known Black Nationalist – Malcolm X before taking the Hejira said mixing is wrong, but after not only seeing white Muslims in Mecca but white Algerians behave identical to their black countrymen… Once Malcolm was on US soil again and a reporter asked him his views on interracial marriage? The human rights activist said it is a personal decision, so quite frankly if a black man or woman wants a white partner? It’s their damn business! Same for the other way around if a white woman or man chooses a black partner and they accept? It is between them and them alone, any crap about racial purity is just as bad as 4th Reich eugenics, IMO!
