REDjet: What is happening with the funds collected from pre-paid tickets?

Where’s my refund?

by Thinking Aloud

First I do not want to say or even imply anything that may negatively influence the return of REDjet, but I am surprised that no-one so far has seized on some of the financial implications.

A very high proportion of any monies collected for planned future travel that has not yet been refunded, is in fact due to Government(s) and their agencies: whether they are departure taxes, VAT, landing fees or other airport charges.

Should the company NOT be in a position to refund, then those passengers who paid by credit card could be protected. I am not sure of the legal position regarding Surepay payments, but at the end of the day any advance payments will be largely made up of what would be Government dues, if travel had taken place.

It is also not clear whether REDjet have so far paid all its statutory obligations, such as VAT, landing fees, departures and other taxes for people that have already traveled.

Questions MUST be asked!

I think these questions have to be raised to establish if in fact further taxpayers funds should be placed in the airline.

You’re expecting a refund? Good Luck.
I know a bottomless hole when I see one: RedJet might be one.

Amazing how RedJet sallied forth to conquer islands no-one but subsidised airlines ever did, before them.

RedJet was gonna make business History: show us how it’s done
-AND cheaper than anyone else ever tried (and failed).

Redjet didn’t need to read the Lesser Antillean History Book of Inter-Island Aviation
because they and they alone had the problem in hand!

Arrogance (and lack of research?) goeth before a fall?

I was referring to your (as usual) poorly-worded and frantically-written excuse for a post.

Only YOU know what’s in your head, dear
but your abilities to calm down and write rationally
in a manner that those of us who fortunately LIVE OUTSIDE your head
    can understand are limited.

Communication is the art of making yourself understood to others:
i.e. getting the message across, clearly,
something you fail to do time and again.

You understand every word I and others write. WHY?
MANY of us in here don’t understand what you’re trying to get across.
Stop writing in cryptics and code.
Calm down, take the medication the doctor gave you
and try to COMPOSE both yourself and a message that is clearly understandable to others who have zero idea where you’re coming from!

  10. Appeal to BFP.

Is there any possibility of including an IGNORE button somewhere?

I frequent many other fora (plural of Forum) and very often there is an Ignore function one might deploy.

    Any chance??? Please?

If you can not understand , then this is not for you , ,,,write your way and i will right my way.
As you see we dont all agree,So this is one more thing we dont agree on ,,,
IGNORE button,,, it seem i just pushed yours.
now get back to the matter at hand ,

    1. That Billionaire joke was around long before Richard Branson. He may have repeated it, but he certainly did not start it.

    2. When REDjet started, there would have been a Bond or deposit they would have been required to lodge with the government in case of just such an eventuality, so the money is there somewhere. Unless, of course, the government just poured it into the General Fund, in which case good luck with that.

    Think Andy Capp…
    Landlord: “RENT!!”
    Andy Capp: “SPENT!”

    3. In every announcement I have seen, REDjet stated that it would take three weeks for a refund to be issued – probably because they were coordinating with LIAT for passengers to be taken care of instead of just dumping their customers and running for foreign parts with their aircraft (like “our own” Butch Stewart did in St. Lucia). Has it been three weeks? Maybe the people you know with REDjet tickets have not yet even applied for the refund – or as is fairly normal they have no damn patience and have to spend their time whining and complaining to everyone whether others want to hear the same old BS over and over again or not.
