Cherokee Nation says descendants of Cherokee nigger slaves unworthy of citizenship

Why use the “N” word? Because the Cherokee slave owners did.

The Cherokee Nation, the second largest Indian tribe in the United States, has banished almost 3,000 black Americans from citizenship.

These people are descendants of black slaves owned by the Cherokee when the tribe was forced to move to Oklahoma in the mid 1800s. This is not just a symbolic gesture – tenth generation black Cherokees are being denied voting rights and payments from government agreements and treaties.

A Reuters newspaper article outlines the racist move by the Cherokee Nation, but it does not mention this one very important fact when it comes to who has Cherokee blood and who does not have Cherokee blood…

There was a time when the rule was this: If a Cherokee man married an outsider, their children were considered full blood Cherokee, but if a Cherokee woman married an outsider, their children were not Cherokee.

Cherokee Nation… your racism, your sexism, is disgusting.

The Cherokee Nation wants sympathy from the world for their indigenous status? If I said what I feel, my Auntie Moses wouldn’t speak to me for a month.

Cherokee Indians: We are free to oust blacks

OKLAHOMA CITY — The nation’s second-largest Indian tribe said on Tuesday that it would not be dictated to by the U.S. government over its move to banish 2,800 African Americans from its citizenship rolls.

“The Cherokee Nation will not be governed by the BIA,” Joe Crittenden, the tribe’s acting principal chief, said in a statement responding to the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Crittenden, who leads the tribe until a new principal chief is elected, went on to complain about unnamed congressmen meddling in the tribe’s self-governance.

The reaction follows a letter the tribe received on Monday from BIA Assistant Secretary Larry Echo Hawk, who warned that the results of the September 24 Cherokee election for principal chief will not be recognized by the U.S. government if the ousted members, known to some as “Cherokee Freedmen,” are not allowed to vote.

The dispute stems from the fact that some wealthy Cherokee owned black slaves who worked on their plantations in the South. By the 1830s, most of the tribe was forced to relocate to present-day Oklahoma, and many took their slaves with them. The so-called Freedmen are descendants of those slaves.

After the Civil War, in which the Cherokee fought for the South, a treaty was signed in 1866 guaranteeing tribal citizenship for the freed slaves.
The U.S. government said that the 1866 treaty between the Cherokee tribe and the U.S. government guaranteed that the slaves were tribal citizens, whether or not they had a Cherokee blood relation.

The African Americans lost their citizenship last month when the Cherokee Supreme Court voted to support the right of tribal members to change the tribe’s constitution on citizenship matters.

* About the photo… it’s a photo of the Cherokee Nation website modified by BFP for political commentary and satire. We added “* Descendants of former Cherokee Nigger slaves not welcome.”

Barbados Free Press wishes to clearly state that the Cherokee Nation website doesn’t say that. WE SAID IT because we want to make political commentary and we believe the people who run the Cherokee Nation website are racist.

I guess those American ‘brothers’ who like to say they’re really ‘half’ Red Indian will have to find someone else to blame for their insecurities

  2. What the Cherokee Nation is has done is down right illegal.

It would be like if the United States decided 1 morning to strip every Black slave descent in this country of their US citizenship. If this is not corrected LIKE YESTERDAY, blacks in this country may find themselves in the same situation.

  3. Im sorry.. bu this really pisses me off to no end.

This same crap happened several years ago within the Seminole tribe, They tried to keep the black Seminoles from voting & tried to strip the blacks of their Indian citizenship. Thank goodness, a federal judge intervened & put a stop to it. But that dustup was ongong for several years before help arrived.

Hmmm. Barbadians still not worried about the “indigenous” group that put out a claim on Culpepper Island?

  5. J. Payne

America already tried in 1829 to kick all the blacks out. The country of Liberia in Africa was created by the United States to do such, and also the Panama Canal was also used to send away America’s black population.

What do one expect from white Americans. They took away all the lands from the Indigenous people ( indians ) put them in camps and gave them gambling dens, (casinos), no work, no education, just gamble all day, get drunk, go home and beat up on your wife and children. These people are only learning from their teachers on how to treat black America. They are even trying to force the first black American President from office. They will do anything so he does not win to be President again, but one thing they can’t do is take away the four years he has already, it will surely be in the history books.

BUT WE KNOW WHICH RACE STILL ENSLAVES THE MOST PEOPLE CURRENTLY DONT WE?

  10. BFP

    Hi soussed,

It is true that blacks owned slaves. Matta a fact, the first legal slave in the USA, tried and tested in the US courts, was a black man owned by another black man. Look it up.

As to which race now owns the most slaves, I don’t think any one race is the major slave owner today, but I am sure that the fascist ideology and religious belief system known as Islam probably holds that distinction because slavery is authorized in the Koran, and the Koran is used as justification by slave owners today.

Dear BFP oh how the truth do set one free……….

Islam /Muslim.Hmmmmmmmmmmmm,,,,six of one, half a dozen of the other,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  12. J. Payne

@tweedley dum. Too late, I predict slavery in the future will not be how it appeared in the past, instead it will be exploitation based on who holds the keys to whatever global resources. If you notice, the powerful nations are also forcing weaker nations into signing on-to treaties that they themselves may not be bound to. The United States gave the best case example when it signed the International Criminal Court, only to un-signed it at the very last minute thereby trapping all other nations into that set of laws, but not itself. Now, however that body evolves over time it will constrain the majority of the world but wont pertain to the United States government. When countries sign treaties they not only have to look at the way the law is worded now, but also how it may evolve over time. When Barbados first signed on to the WTO I’m sure it looked very attractive, but now it binds Barbados in all kinds of ways due to policy changes and rulings that have come out later. Mark my words Slavery has already begun, but it isn’t whips and chains anymore, it is an economic slavery backed up by a global set of rules that will force governments to use military or law enforcement authorities to do all the dirty work.

  13. tweedley dum

    Dear Mr.Payne,

I was not really reffering to the Great United States Of America……….
Sure enough they have not exactly been the saviour of us lesser mortals,,,,with their domineering type of Policies…….But on the other hand canyou count on your Sayyy left hand ..the multitudes of persons who have through Oppression,Repression,Depridation,Mutilation,Aggression,Social Racism,Cultural Racism,Ethnic Racism,,,pure unjustisism Etc.,Etc.,Etc., fleed their countries through Mind Boggling Desperation to arrive at China,India,Pakistan,Russia,Iran,Iraq,Afghanistan,,,,not to mention the numerous other Muslim,Islamic,or not so

    Democratic,Communistic .Countries,States,Socioparicistic Etc.,Etc.,Etc.,

  14. tweedley dum

I think the Immigration records of the United States of America undoubtedly, unequivocally, unmistakenly and unerringly proves that the hope of all those seeking something Positive have their entire trust directed to that Land that unfortunately through their own Democracy have allowed a few Negative and Boistrous Individuals to have sway in a land of Hope and Promise.

  15. soussed

There will always be some form of hierarchy which ever country you are in -based on ability ,connections ,personality .
It applies in Barbados just the same as it does in the USA /UK .Some people at the top of the pile ,some people at the bottom .
Most of us have to take orders from someone or at least obey basic laws .
I dont think this should be labelled ‘slavery’-thats something that was abolished 170 years ago.

  16. J. Payne

    @Mr. or Ms. tweedley dum,
I was not speaking of the United States in general. I was moreso taking issue with the slow march towards a global government. The example using the United States I picked as a most recent example that may still be in the forefront of many people’s memory. But needless to say China also didn’t sign that treaty either. Beyond this, there is also the Inter-American Court/Commission of Human Rights which the A.G. of Barbados continues to claim has taken issue with parts of Barbados’ Constitution that may displease them. Never mind Section 1 of Barbados’ Constitution declares that document as the supreme law of the land, this body which Barbados has signed on to appears to be making intentions known (via the A.G.’s own comments) that they may dislike Barbados’ use of capitol punishment.
On other issues, the OECD has seen fit to demand of small countries provisions that they themselves probably wouldn’t put in place for their own members for fear of retarding international trade. As Barbados implements these measures, Canadian companies seek new safe havens to not themselves become exposed. So you see, there is a gradual slow march towards bringing everyone under a global set of rules. Large countries at the same time are using their own prowess to also exempt themselves from the same such rules. That was the effect to which I was speaking of, not a front to barrage the United States of America.

  17. J. Payne

Barbados is owned by the rich elite already. GE owns the desal plant, LIME owns the telecommunications, Emera owns the electricity, and now the public owned St. Joseph Hospital is being privatised to a corporation too. Government is setting up for the companies out of Trinidad to take over the Energy sector of Barbados. Barbados is bought and paid for already.

The Cherokee racist policy is no different than the DLP Executive Council when they rejected Taan Abed because of his race.

  21. Lisa

not all Cherokee feel this way and this did NOT come from council just a select few of ignorant people who claim to be Cherokee, shame on those for degrading my culture…. there is NO such thing as the racist policy, the tribe is run by several different chiefs depending on where they are from….

Many do not know African people lived in the Americas thousands of years before the so call native Americans , they were in the majority in south America , and in north America , manly the west coast , south west , and mid-west , many had clashes with the so call native Americans , and many were enslaved by the so-called native Americans and they { Africans } were traded to the Quakers. They say they bought millions from Africa via the Trans Atlantic slave trade , not true , their salve ships held the most only between 300-400 slaves at a time , and it took an average of 6-8 weeks to travel by ship to the Caribbean and they to the shores of the east coast of America , the American people were once again lie to , and the so call native Americans also no the truth , this is why the government decided to offer a trendy to the tribes . If you research this fact , you will discover the real natives are people of African decent.

  28. My folks were Native American, from a reservation, and they stopped receiving checks in 1977. All the true Indians who were cut out of the government money so white imposters can get it,need to start their own nation. We don’t need these crackers to validate who we are. We dont need to join them because theyre not our people, theyre fake. ive got photos of Indians who were very very dark and NOT negro, and they for damn sure wasn’t red.

  29. Indigenous One

Let’s talk about the real past that has been kept hidden and obliterated from ALL history books. The fact is the average so called Cherokee is basically caucasoid-mongoloid. The original / aboriginal indigenous people of the Americas–yes I said the Americas–was and is of Moor-Ethiopian origins. The enslavement of Moors-Ethiopians as well as Libyan-Nubians from the continent as well as Arawak and Tainos who are blood kin to Moors was carried out by sephardim jews as well as goth-german pale races. They used mongoloids (aka indians) to assist them in the displacement, theft, enslavement of many Moors who refused to sign treaties with so-called Europeans. Those that sold out were allowed to move to different colonies. In fact many Moors themselves purchased prisoners of war (aka slaves). Prior to 1778 Irish as well as Nubians were enslaved and sold up until Meritorious Manumission was overrode with other socalled black slave “laws”/codes. In short, these mongoloid-caucasoids are immigrants and THEY KNOW IT. Pass the word and KNOW that you ARE the original heirs of this land NOT THEM. There is no need to want to be part of an immigrant’s lie. That is why they call themselves “native americans”. The term fits because their only claim to this land is that they were born here, and being an anchor baby does not give you familial claim to the land. They have no blood ties here. The only difference between them and the pale european rats they made deals with is that they arrived prior to caucasian invasion. But make not mistakes about it, their arrival did NOT precede the Moor-Ethiopian who was ALREADY here!
We all know stories of caucasians who we may have heard saying: “I’m half irish, half cherokee.” I hope you do what I do when you hear his…and laugh. I have seen some of these meetings that these native american councils hold and they look no different than a knights of columbus or elks lodge meeting…white folks with a drop of mongoloid blood.

  30. Indigenous One

The same thing you see in this video from today…is the same thing that went on in the past during the maafa, the onslaught and displacement on Moor-Ethiopian (Blacks) of the Americas at the hands of caucasoids and mongoloids: http://thefrt.com/mexican-gangs-attempting-to-run-black-families-out-of-southern-california-video/

  31. Please tell me if I am wrong or right. I read the article and most of the comments and I’m a little confused. If a Cherokee man married outside the tribe all of his children (and I’m assuming descendants) were all considered Cherokee. However, if a Cherokee woman married outside of the tribe all of her children were not considered Cherokee. Now what would happen if a White woman gave birth to a Cherokee man’s children and the female children of that union married a white man. Would the children of that union be Cherokee or White? My paternal grandmother was Cherokee and married a white man. Their 7 sons were all considered Cherokee. I have some paper work to prove this, but they are not at my immediate disposal to reread. Any comments?

  32. Janet Payne Littlecrow

Cherokees follow your mother’s clan… NOT your fathers. Fathers may be important or not, the reason being that you always know who the mother is… but not necessarily the father.

  33. and how long will my opinion be awaiting MODERATION!Dont you think Barbados Free Press. That those who enslaved the Body and the mind with lies causing us to serve Gods OUTSIDE ourselves have no Power to free us.If it could be done then they could have power to enslave you again. No ONE can free you but you. I think it would matter if they were blood relation or not. White America does not tell the former black slaves they are now white men. I understand the Cherokee Blacks that would be upset if they were denied, but blacks with no blood relation are not Cherokee.
