Two Barbados political parties argue over who is most corrupt

The author of this hit piece calls himself “Dave U. Random” and he’s obviously a DLP supporter. The style is vaguely familiar but the tactics are undoubtedly inspired by DLP backroom manipulator Hartley Henry.

That’s okay. We’ll further the discussion by printing one sided pieces from the BLP too!

But we haven’t forgotten, and we want Bajans to remember, that there’s not a lick ‘o difference between the two large political parties in Barbados. Not a lick ‘o difference in philosophy or practice – only a different bunch of piggies fighting over the public trough.

As Member of Parliament Dr. Duguid said, there’s no way any Barbados politician will vote for Integrity Legislation.

So relax, sit back and enjoy the show as the DLP and BLP try to convince Bajans that THIS TIME it’s gonna be different. Honest, Honey, I’ll never hurt you again. Trust me. I promise…

Corruption and corrupt people now rule the BLP

by Dave U. Random

The Barbados Labour Party is becoming a war zone with the ‘gang of five’ now trying desperate measures to destroy “the decent four.”  They cannot get Mia Mottley or William Duguid because they have pedigree so the soft targets in that mix are Rawle Eastman and Cynthia Forde.  We have already told you that Clyde Mascoll will be the BLP’s candidate in St. Thomas, while Douglas Skeete (George Payne’s cousin) will replace Rawle Eastman in St. James North., hence a scheme had to be hatched and carefully executed, to discredit Forde and Eastman.

Of the two, Rawle’s illness (serious diabetic) makes him the softer target.  Everyone knows that Rawle Eastman was seriously ill for a long time and was even given long leave from Parliament, ever since his appearance on the call-in-programme sounding incoherent.  Our reports are that he often has to rely on strangers when he fails to eat properly and on time and that makes him vulnerable to be exploited.  George Payne knows that and enters Haniyfa Reza White, stage right.

Who is paying the legal fees for murder accused Haniyfa Reza White (the woman now stalking Rawle Eastman) in her counter suit against St. James North M.P., Rawle Eastman?  Is it George Payne?  Is it true that Haniyfa Reza White was one of the persons down to vote in the elections George Payne rigged?  Is this then part of the master plan to discredit Eastman for pointing out to the country last year that George Payne was engaged in electoral fraud, election rigging, which is corruption and organized crime?  Why would Owen Arthur and George Payne feel they would get away with this when the BLP benefits from taxpayers money, which give the electorate the right to demand accountability and answers?

Owen Arthur’s style is the ‘politics of fear,’ while George Payne’s is ‘the childish politics of spite.’  They both feel that once they take-out Rawle Eastman, no one else would be willing to stand in their way.  George Payne has never been scared to let it be known that his cousin Douglas Skeete will replace Eastman as the candidate for the BLP in the next general election.  Owen Arthur has also made it clear that Skeete will be the candidate.  Everyone knows that you cannot enter Parliament if you have a criminal record, hence Haniyfa Reza White and her counter suit.

Now you understand why four months after the ‘BLP’s annual conference voting list was rigged’ citizens still cannot hear a single word from Owen Arthur about the corruption that George Payne engaged in.  Frankly, Owen Arthur has turned a blind eye, as any poppet-leader would. But it has given the citizens of this country the proof that they need, that corruption and organize crime now rule at the BLP?  Owen Arthur has never explained to this country why he put $75,000 intended as campaign financing into his personal bank account.

Under its new corrupt leadership, the BLP is preparing for an assault on the Barbados Treasury but it must be stopped.  A group of men, who rigged the BLP’s election to get the result they want, are showing that they have no difficulty taking out Rawle Eastman or anyone who gets in their way, neither will they think twice about rigging a general election by re-aligning boundaries.  What next?  Will Owen Arthur create a $500 Barbados note and put his name and face on it?  Who will they target next?  The Commissioner of Police?  The Governor of the Central Bank?  Trade Union Leaders and Head of Private Sector Companies, who do not give Owen Arthur and his ‘gang of five’ campaign funds, to put into their personal bank account, again?

Who are the people Owen Arthur and George Payne are taking money from?  Whoever they are, it is clear that they do not want to do business with Prime Minister Stuart of even Mia Mottley.  That is why anyone who messes with Owen Arthur and his ‘gang of five’ are now becoming targets, since their financial backers have to protect their interest.  With the assistance of Haniyfa Reza White, Rawle Eastman has now found that out the hard way.

All of this is too much. The gang of 5 very likely want to get rid of him but I don’t think that this situation he is in now was orchestrated.

Eastmond’s support was declining and probably he will lose next time anyway. He should leave. His intellect cannot be questioned but his energy level is low and judgement is very faulty.
Eastmond made a bad judgement in the choice of wild woman he wanted to play around with.
Eastmond was a minister for 14 years and is a lawyer, certainly he should be able to afford an outside woman with less baggage than this one. Moreover he should be able to take better care of himself. Seems like his wife cannot take his obnoxious behaviour anymore.
He has always had problems of one kind or the next but,I honestly believe that his illness has affected his judgement.

  2. To Cliverton baby!

“Cliverton”, tell me this: How many of your friends are turning 40?

Answer: All of them! And soon you too!

    Happy Birthday baby!

It is more important who gets the job done and who does a better job
So far the DLP has not done anything to that deserve praise
Things are not better in Barbados since the DLP. I dont like how the DLP comes across. Too many crappy excuses and seem unsure of what they are implementing. The DLP is a Government like how the Windies are a cricket team-(in name only)

The BLP has done a better job comparitively at this stage as a new government in the first three years 94-97

    OUTSIDE WOMAN + depleted energy
    How does that work ?
He needs energy creative, sexual and physical to deal with such a woman
    It does not add up

  5. Updated my site, grabbing a Rum now before I nod, and laugh at my getting locked out by the BLP at Deighton Griffith… Oh yeah – you can read all about it, if it tickles your fancy?

as a political observer, i used to admire himk debating in parliament. his speeches were always well researched and useful for pushing barbados forward. something which i cannot say for many of them who warm the benches of parliament because the purblind barbadian public continue to squander the sacrifices made by their foreparents to enable them to think for themselves by continuing to vote party rather than country and commonsense. but not perfect myself, i sdtill have little sympathy for mr eastmond and if the situation is as has been reported then he has no one to blame than himself’ i believe that people who aspire and hold high offices which demand the respect of the public such as politicians, priests etc should be prepared to measure up when they assume such responsibilitiesand not hide behind the unacceptable excuse that they are human too.

  10. what will they think of next

Eastmond is a man like any other man, and we all know how men are.
When arthur was PM and a married man he was still fooping his secretary and “breed” she.
Not a word anyone said about that.

  11. ruth arnetta

perhaps that is true and i am not condemning mr eastmond on that ground only but all those who aspire to offices which demand the respect of the public they request to serve. certainly, it was not revealed officially till years after his death that our father of independence had a child out of wedlock and he was not criticised like mr arthur for his indiscretion.

  12. Under-Disguise

    JUST GET THE JOB DONE

I DONT CARE WHO FOOP WHO
THAT IS BEDROOM BUSINESS NOT OUR BUSINESS

  13. what type of behavior is being carried out in the barbados free press blogs?
Mr.Eastman’s behavior is his business. He’ll soon find out what it is like to
mix profession with his sickening nasty habits.
Good luck Rawle, you’ll need it soon.

  14. Current Opposition Leader, Owen Arthur says that the Democratic Labor Party (DLP) government has a moral obligation to fix the CLICO mess. Arthur and the Barbados Labor Party (BLP) perhaps have forgotten that the Barbados Water Author (BWA), a government owned corporation and sole provider of water services in 2009 was near bankrupsy. David Thompson and the DLP inherited the Barbados Water Authority problem from Arthur and the BLP. Arthur and the BLP were morally responsible for BWA problems totaling thirteen years. The Barbados Water Authority problems FIRST appeared during the ruling of Owen Arthur and the BLP. Arthur and the BLP apparently paid no attention to the Barbados Water Authority what they were doing and were not doing. The DLP likewise may not know for certain WHAT’S GOING ON in the Barbados Water Authority house.

Al Barrack is another monster mess that originated during the days of Owen Arthur. The Al Barrack mess FIRST appeared during the ruling of Arthur and the BLP. The court ruled in favor of Al Barrack, a little less than thirty five million, $34,490.518 to be exact. Barrack in 2008 received 2.5 million from the David Thompson administration. Al Barrack, since 2008 has not received payment from the Barbados government in any form or fashion. Building Contractor, Al Barrack built the government office complex in Warrens (St. Michael’s) but yet unpaid. The total amount NOW owed Al Barrack is far above 34, 490, 518 million. The Barbados national debt also is far above the 34,490,518 million amount. Just recently, Arthur reported to Midweek Nation that “the REDjet Airlines might still be flying if the Barbados Government had honored its financial commitment to the collapsed airline”. Well Mr. Arthur, if the government during your rein had honored its financial commitment to Contractor Al Barrack, Barbados NOW would not owe him seventy five million. Like it or not Bajans, the BLP government under leadership of Owen Arthur and Mia Mottley awarded Al Barrack Construction Company a thirty six million dollor contract “without tender”. Al Barrack, additionally has possession of a court ordered judgement, REDjet Airlines does not.

Owen Arthur would like us to forget the 75,000 cheque that was directed into her personal banking account NOT the war chest of the BLP for electroneering where it rightfully belonged. The BLP in 2008 lost power to its twin party, the DLP because of corruption. The late David Thompson was able to prove this. It was he David Thompson who produced the 75,000 cheque linked to Owen Arthur’s personal banking account. The DLP house, of course is not clean. The CLICO mess proves this. The BLP house also was not/is not clean. The 75,000 cheque proves this, likewise the Arch Cot Scrub land linked to Mia Mottley, the now opposition leader of the DLP. The Mottley family brought the Arch Cot Scrub land and couldn’t be built on and within six months got planning permission when the previous owner couldn’t. For years there was a stipulation on the land that it could not be built on because it was caved. The Arch Cot land before owned by the Mia Mottley family had “no value”; it was caved and could not be built on. The land attained value ONLY after receiving permission to build on it. Barbados according to the United Nations has lots of thefts but relatively less violence than Jamaica and other Caribbean countries. This perhaps is memory of the 75,000 check linked to Arthur’s personal banking account, the Arch Cot Scrub land linked to Mia Mottley and now the CLICO insurance mess. A lot of things have surfaced before and since 2008. Both the BLP and the DLP are equally corrupt.

Bajans on January 16, 2008 awoke to a new ruling government, the DLP. The DLP won the general election held on January 15, 2008 with 20 seats against the BLP lead by Owen Arthur with 10 seats. The DLP, however made promises that were not kept. Thompson said he would implement a Ministerial Code of Conduct “immediately” upon forming a government and would introduce Integrity Legislation and Freedom of Information within the first 100 days. These promises were not kept. The DLP, additionally enjoyed a relationship with LeRoy Parris and Lawrence Duprey that was not squeaky clean. The DLP now in a hospital intensive care unit has seriously wounded itself with THAT DAMM CLICO MESS. CLICO apparently has the S&P worried about Barbados. If David Thompson were alive, it would be in his face. Thompson put the 75,000 cheque in Owen’s face. He did. The BLP left office in 2008 and should have kicked itself in the butt for poor leadership and corruption. The DLP possibly will depart office, January 2013 and should kick itslef in the butt for poor leadership and corruption. The BLP is a national embarrassment as is the DPL.

Barbados is at moment amidst an economic crisis. Barbados, additionally has attained high unemployment. It has also attained quite a large debt that continues to grow. The Barbados S&P rating currently is BBB- with a negative outlook – not good. The S&P recently has expressed concern on the growing debt in Barbados and warned another downgrade. Barbados is seriously in trouble. The current opposition leader, Owen Arthur says he believes he has the medicine to cure the Barbados economy problem. The economy in Barbados is a problem, a rather serious one. Barbados sad to say has many of those rather serious problems: Unemployment, it’s national debt, the Al Barrack mess and another CLICO. Arthur needs medicine to cure all. Barbados in recent years have not witnessed mass tourism as it once did; it has witnessed numerous hotel closings before and since the 2008 general election won by David Thompson and the DLP. The economy of Barbados traditionally relied on sugar cane. Tourism later took first place and or the main element of revenue in the Barbados economy. Barbados, therefore, is severely hurting from lost revenue of tourism. Another major factor could possibly be the incident in which a 27 year old Jamacian woman (Shanique Myrie) accused the Royal Barbados Police of Rape and Sexual Assault on the night of February 28, 2011 while being held in custody for possession of drugs. The woman was arrested at Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados for possession of drugs. She has accused two male police officers of raping her. Two police officers were charged, a male (Jonathan Barrow) with sexual assault and a female (Melanie Denny) with aiding and abetting. Denny, according to testimony of the Jamacian woman allowed (2) police officers inside the cell she occupied at Central Police Station in Bridgetown (Barbados). Both police officers raped her. The female police officer (Melainie Denny) allowed it. Barbados has right to enforce its drug trafficing laws. It does not have right to enforce sexual assault. Both, Barbados and Jamaica stand in the face of shame. Drug trafficing is wrrong. Non-consented sex same as rape is also wrong. Barbados rightfully concludes that Myrie has a valid case against them. She has been granted leave by the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) to take her case to a full sitting court against Barbados and ALL cost will be billed to the Barbados government. Barbados yet may have another court ordered judgment starring it in the face, another one it simply cannot afford. Raul Garcia is yet another legal matter standing in the face of Barbados. Garcia completed his twenty year sentence two years ago for drug trafficing. Cuba, the place of his birth revoked his citizenship and the United States where he became a naturalized citizen refuses to accept him. Barbados, therefore, refuses to release him.

The BLP says the DLP Government has put Barbados in a sorry mess. Really!!! The Barbados S&P rating BEFORE the 2008 general election win by David Thompson and the DLP was continuously sliding down hill. The S&P had downgraded Barbados several times before the 2008 general election. The three, Kerrie Symmonds, Clyde Mascoll and Owen Arthur perhaps are not aware of this. Barbados during the ruling years of Owen Arthur and the BLP got a state of the art prison at Dodds in St. Philip and Kensington Ovel west of Bridgetown. They also got several S&P downgrades. The DLP in 2008 inherited a large national debt from Owen Arthur and the BLP. The BLP possibly will return to office in January 2013 and inherit a larger national debt. The Barbados economy at moment is extremely ill. Incidentally, Barbados before the 2008 general election was not healthy. The three, Kerrie Symmonds, Clyde Mascoll and Owen Arthur maybe don’t remember this.

The 2013 general election is forthcoming. Both parties, the BLP and the DLP have sucked blood from the Bajans; they both want recognition and power; they both want the bajans to trust them AGAIN.
