Fire Officer killed on call at Station Hill, St. Peter

Christopher “German” Edwards electrocuted at fire

Our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of Acting Station Officer Christopher Edwards. Details are few as I write this. Officer Edwards was a 30 year veteran of the Barbados Fire Service and died at a call on Wednesday evening.

Barbados Today has what is known so far and a few photos, including the above on page 5 of their evening edition for Wednesday, December 15, 2010.

UPDATED: December 16, 2010 7pm Bridgetown

BFP received the following email. Does anyone know the answer to this chap’s inquiry?

Dear Sirs,

Do you have knowledge of any site set up to receive donations for the Fire Officer killed last night? I’ve tried a couple of the Fire Service email sites, but I’m not sure they are working properly.

Thanks for your assistance.
