And the Barbados news media criticizes the blogs?
Oh please!
Cha!!!!
‘No truth’ to talk of PM’s death
8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010 – Prime Minister David Thompson, up to late this evening, remains hospitalised in the United States, where he has been waging a private and courageous battle against pancreatic cancer.
Political advisor Hartley Henry told the Nation that persistent rumours of the prime minister’s death are “absolutely not true”.
“He is very much alive. Not well, but very much alive. In fact, his condition is no different today than it was yesterday,” says Henry, while admitting that he has been bombarded today with inquiries into the prime minister’s condition.

Can anyone enlighten me as to whether the other rumour is true – the one that says David Thompson did not return to Barbados on his last purported trip? His announcement about the reshuffle etc., was meant to have been recorded in the USA.
Urban myth or truth?
No that is not true – 100%.
If you want to stop the rumour mongering simply provide the public with regular updates. The public has a right to know since David Thompson as Prime Minister, is a servant of the public. Everyone knows the seriousness of pancreatic cancer and its mortality rate. The people needs to be updated. Its no longer a secret!!!
I agree with johnny Postle. This foolishness has to stop. The PM is a public figure and the public deserves some answers as long as he is their PM. I actually think the secrecy around i is insulting o Bajans.
Why is he being trested in US and not QEH? What about those Bajans who develop pancreatic cancer and have to go to QEH? What is it costing for PM treatment abroad and who is paying? Good use of much needed US dollars.
I have actually come to the conclusion that the PM should step down and let a new leader be selected. My top four choices in order would be Sinckler, Stuart, Inniss, Jones.
Give me my licks now. Such is democracy via freepress. Thank you
I agree with the last 2 posters above. The Press release from the PM’s secretary stopped the rumour of his being dead right in its tracks. Why can’t they put out another press release to squelch the very persistent rumour that he is in a coma?
Also, are there no investigative journalists that can cover this story?
“His condition is no different than yesterday” says Henry.
What was “his condition” yesterday? In a coma? Alert and overseeing government processes? On death’s doorstep?
What is “his condition” Mr. Henry?
Bonjour:
I wish Barbados all the best with your current choices for PM!!!
