Official Opposition asks Barbados Free Press to reconsider an earlier article
The Barbados Labour Party is requesting that we provide statements on a number of issues raised in BFP’s September 22, 2007 article Drunken Sailor Spending By Barbados Government Will Result In Increased VAT And Other Taxes.
In a story carried today on the official Barbados Labour Party Blog, the Opposition party asks where BFP now stands on a then-predicted increase in VAT and other taxes as well as our accusations of wrong doing against the BLP’s Owen Arthur government.
The Barbados Labour Party also asks if Barbados Free Press is “really for the people or just another DLP mouth piece trying to fool people that you are independent.”
BFP will answer the questions from the Barbados Labour Party in at least two articles, the first of which will appear in two days.
“NOW that the DLP has massively increased the debt almost doubling it in 2 years.
Just a few squeaks here and there.
Show us your true colours Barbados Free Press.
Are you really for the people or just another DLP mouth piece trying to fool people that you are independent.”
… from the Barbados Labour Party blog article Where is Barbados Free Press on This??????????

When in government the BLP first vilified Barbados Free Press and then ignored it and the other blogs to deny their influence.
Now that they are out of power and squeezed off the CBC, the BLP wants to use the blogs to communicate to constituents.
That’s too funny!
When you have two socialist incompetent anti investor/capitalist governments in succession and you cannot borrow anymore cheap money and have more money going out than coming in, there are only two choices or combination of choices—cut spending or raise taxes.
Owen Arthur was able to get away with the reckless unaccountable non tendered spending by creating a new pot of revenue with the Vat Tax.
Perhaps the BLP should stop asking to prove what is obvious and tell us exactly what they are going to do long before the next election.
There are tough economic decisions ahead so no more
hot air and fairy tales!
While indeed ironic, nevertheless, at least the BLP’s blog remains active – a check at http://dlpbarbados.wordpress.com/ will show last entry stays at 13 January 2008
Nobody talking to you ian.
Your desire for my silence strengthens my resolve, I dealt with facts, and you respond with the ignorance of complacent arrogance – your time will come too.
