I`ve seen these people in total black veils, enter Price Mart while showing a photo id to the person at the door. What BS…religion is religion, but with bombs going off anywhere these days, I say this should not be allowed. Its only when a catastrophe occurs (again) that the Western World will have the cohones to stop the Muslims from dictating what is acceptable or not in their host countries.If they dont like it, send them back to Camel country!

1) The video was “heavily edited” according to CBC news and most accounts indicate that the sequences before and after were not posted .(the Brit has not returned their call for an interview).
2) An interesting comment in the from a blog reader on the Globe and Mail article that nonbajan posted: that is the law requires a photo id or 2 non government issue id (SIN or OHIP) . So this may not be an exception.
3) if this did occur, it really couldn’t pose a security risk to other passengers as the women would have gone through all the scanners previously. the only issue here would have been fugutives with fake ids. and really; which mastermind would want to dress as a Muslim with full cover going through an airport in these times. Just go into Agincourt for fake ids.
4)oh yes, and lastly there has been alot of talk of fall elections in canada with the conservatives in full battle with the civil service over the consensus forms..just maybe the right kind of wedge issue to work with .

We’ve seen the video, we’ve also seen the same thing or variations on many occasions when flying and when doing banking. The chap who took the video also included his observations and they sound credible to us. It is disingenuous to suggest that the women’s faces were examined some other place when the facts are that the Air Canada personnel were confronted at the time by the witness and they were embarrassed. If the women were properly screened Air Canada would be announcing so by this time.
As we’ve seen at many airports and at Grantley Adams, there are no privacy screens at the ticket counters when you check in and we’ve never seen any veiled woman asked to lift her veil at check in. We’ve never seen a veiled woman asked to lift her veil by airport security and we’ve never seen a veiled woman asked to lift her veil when boarding an aircraft, yet every time we’ve flown, our faces and passports were compared at each of those three locations.
AND the husband had all the passports. Just like the registration papers for autos, the man keeps the ownership papers to his property and presents the passports. Keeps control of the women so they don’t run off I suppose. There’s more truth to that statement than you’d like to acknowledge.
QUESTION FOR OUR READERS: We will all pay more attention to this issue now – at the checkin counter, at airport security and when boarding, but right now how many of our readers can remember seeing any veiled women being asked to show their faces at any of these locations? I can’t remember one, but I do remember several instances when they were not asked. I figured they would be asked later or earlier or something – but…
Why should non-Muslims be subjected to ID and face checks at 3 airport locations and Muslims not have the same standard applied?

I have personally seen women lifting their veils at the check-in counter and inside the booth just bfore you go through the scanners. I have also seen them showing their faces to immigation officers at entry. And I have seen it more than once.
The only time I witnessed otherwise was at Heathrow, husband,wife and 2 kids. The immigration officer didnt ask to see her face. Maybe the officer had the confidence that 2 kids would obviously be comfortable standing with someone they know.
As for Pricemart, when was the last time the person at door ever checked the i.d.? everytime i go there i just flick my card to show that i have a card. The most i see the person do is press that number-counter in their hand.
As for the passports, when i travel with my family ,i hold all the passports too. so what. If my wife tells me hold it for her i hold it. if she tells me to hold her handbag i hold that too.when we go to town n she buys something for herself i have to hold that bag too. Their religion is set up to require special consideration: foot baths in the public washrooms at schools and airports, prayer rooms at public buildings, Muslim nurses allowed to wear sleaves that are prohibited for non-muslim nurses because they are bacteria breeders, no lifting of veils when stopped by police for driving offences or when boarding aircraft. No pork on the school menu. Segregated lunchrooms at university.
They tear down Christian churches in their home countries but demand that Muslim taxi drivers at Heathrow be allowed to take only passengers who are not carrying dutyfree alcohol.

Apart from the fact that everyone is on tenterhooks and worrying whether some bonkers Muslim group decides to blow us up, be it the twin towers, the London Underground or in a hotel in India, these pests are on a constant whinge about their “rights”.
It’s a total bore and a pain in the neck. In London blind people are kicked off the bus by Muslim drivers who regard their guide dogs as “unclean”. Even if the driver is not Muslim, passengers of the Muslim faith begin screaming in horror if a dog gets on the bus. In England, a country of animal lovers! Hello, settle in or F off. Everyone knows the British are animal-mad. I got on a bus to find it was delayed by the driver on his mat praying. How absurd, there was a mosque 5 mins walk away. Obviously the guy was trying to make a point, rather than simply observing his personal belief.
I’m not the only one to find it insulting that Muslim women seem to regard males as some kind of threat, so they feel forced to veil themselves. Maybe they are vulnerable in their own countries, where rape is frequent yet women have to produce three males who have observed the rape in order not to be accused of adultery or having “illegal” sex. Any adult should be able to have voluntary sex with any other adult. It shouldn’t be assumed that the woman is always guilty when adultery or unacceptable sexual realtions is concerned.
I’m infuriated to see these women on Swan Street covered from top to toe in black, as if the rest of the men are just sexual predators. It’s well known that in Muslim families, females and girls are sexually preyed upon and sold off as “brides” for cash deals, regardless of the girls’ age.
We have to take a stand. They can criticise all they want about our “loose morals” and maybe they have a point; we all need to look at how we dress and how we have sex on the brain and in our music etc. but if they don’t like it, why not stay in their own countries, states which are ruled by Sharia law? Why come to live in Western cultures and try to set up home in places whose culture they despise? Hello, you might not get your hand cut off for stealing, you might not be buried up to your neck and stoned to death for adultery, like that poor woman in Iran.
Fundamentalist Muslims don’t move around the globe to expand their faith, they do it for economic reasons. umm yah, that’s why the Canadian banking system is being reviewed across the world since we were the least impacted by the recession. That’s why Americans continue to cross the border and sneak into our hospitals to use our health care system. That’s why American and even UK travelers put Canadian patches on their jackets and backpacks when travelling the world because they will be treated more kindly by local populations. That’s why Canada is the 4th or 5th best place in the world to live.
