You simply must watch the CNN video of Ramon Harewood playing American football at Moorehouse College. It’s like he’s a moving mountain of solid rock. When the charging opposition hits him at full tilt they bounce off with no visible effect upon Harewood. It’s almost hilarious.

A man amongst boys. Morehouse isnt even Division one. He has lots of upside but he didnt play in any elite conferences or against elite programs. Take Bryan Bulaga from Iowa, played in the Big 10 against michigan penn St. Ohio State. he went in the first round and is much better than Harewood at this stage. When he played against Michigan , however DE Brandon Graham beat him like a drum. thats what would happen to Harewood at this stage if he played against elite pass rushers. If he develops he may hold his own but at this stage he is just a project and not an elite player. the good thing is he most likely wont be called on to contribute an time soon by the ravens as they drafted another OL last year in the first round ( Mike Oher) and they have another very competent left tackle in Jared Gaither.
Well let’s hope for the best. It will be a good experience for him if nothing else.
Sorry BMSN, but this is a great story, and Ramon seems like a great kid, and with his academic ability there will be NO DOWN SIDE! Let’s all wish him well.

True he didn’t play in Div. 1 against the football factories but it is a great story and he seems to have a head on his shoulders which will be needed post football. Ozzie Newsome Baltimore’s GM and one of only two Black GMs in the NFL is also a great judge of talent. Some of the best players didn’t go to big schools but excelled once they got to the NFL……Think of Jerry Rice, Walter Payton etc
This should be a motivator for our youth.

Earth Pig as he was nicknamed at school is a man mountain making Bajans proud in an unfamiliar sport. Does anyone know what is his salary? NFL players are highly paid.
