“It is my understanding that public servants salaries are a matter of National Record.
I would like to know if you can help me find the salaries of this group – ONLINE.
I have for the salary scales for a number of categories attached to the Civil Establishment Act 2005, but I want a complete list including the salaries of the Governor General, Chief Justice, Prime Minister, Ministers, MPs, Commissioner of Police etc.”

We don’t know where to find the information you seek for Barbados. In the U.K. such information is available online – including specific payments to individual politicians. Here’s the UK Parliamentary website: Pay and Allowances for MPs.
Perhaps some of our readers can offer more information? Is there anywhere that Bajan citizens can view this information online?

Go to Parliament of Barbados Website. Click on “Personal Emoluments.”
It all there … set out even better than the UK parliamentary web-site!
Great going guys! (I mean in the Barbados Parliament).

Good work DDE. Thanks.
Only thing is…unless I didn’t read properly…I don’t see anything for the Statutory Coporations.
And perhaps someone could find out for us the attendance records of the members, and in particular, the ministers at meetings of the House.
Statutory Corps are not listed in PEs…but they use them as a guide for setting salaries.
Anyone know how many mental patients are housed in Black Rock? Seems that salaries and wages of $25 MILLION is a “crazy” amount..add to that , utilities, food, medication etc..and it seems we are spending a heck of a lot on a few patients.
Prison…same observation.
Do maids in the private sector make close to $500 per week? These figures really makes one think. Dont talk about the famous MTW, who will send a truck out with 10 men to fix a pothole.
Also, we are spending more on our Ambassador to Washington, and the Embassy there, than HIV/Aids prevention and Treatment.
The salary information is very interesting.
The second question, bearing in mind the criticism about public sector performance and time-keeping etc., is how much work do they actually do for their money?
I douby whether that information is available on-line or anywhere.
i want to be honest a social man , i would like to be in police committee so that i can serve common people
I have read through the Schedules of Personal Emoluments 2011 -2012 ( http://barbadosparliament.com/htmlarea/uploaded/File/Budget/Personal%20Emoluments%202011-2012.pdf ) but I cannot find the salaries of Members of Parliament (i.e. of the House of Assembly or the Senate) listed anywhere! The salaries of the Prime Minister and Ministers are given but not that of the ordinary backbencher or the Speaker of the House etc. What is the big secret?
