Tsunami of Swiss, European visitors to our Leroy Parris – CLICO articles

UBS Swiss BankHundreds of Swiss and other continental visitors are arriving at Barbados Free Press to read our articles dealing with CLICO and Leroy Parris.

The trend started early last night and started to taper off about 11am Bridgetown, which is 5pm in Zurich, Switzerland where many (but not all) of the visitors originate. While most arrive through various Swiss and European telecom companies, a sizable number indicate the in-house networks of “UBS AG” and “Credit Suisse”.

Barbados Free Press has no idea why these visits are happening, but it seems obvious that the story links are being sent around via email because they are NOT originating from a single referrer as happens when another blog or website puts up a link to one of our stories.

The first-time visitors are arriving primarily at four stories and then spend an average of just under 9 minutes cruising around other Barbados Free Press CLICO/Parris articles. This loiter time, according to our own Cliverton, is really something.

The four articles receiving the most initial attention from the visitors are…

September 24, 2009: Report: Leroy Parris ‘may retire’ from CLICO. Question: Would they dare fire him?

September 22, 2009: Conflicts of Interest and Sinister Secrecy Continue in CLICO Scandal

June 3, 2009: CL Financial, CLICO Fraud Report: Dummy Company, Phantom “Consultancy” Payments, Vanishing Money Transfers From Company To Company

June 2, 2009: EXCLUSIVE REPORT BY BARBADOS FREE PRESS: CL Financial Group Collapse – Insiders Took Bribes To Have Company Purchase Land For More Than Market Value!

If you are a visitor from a Swiss financial institution, please tell us what is happening. Thanks!

BFP you have succeeded in portraying Barbados as a land of theives, vagabonds, crooks and criminals.

I hope the Swiss and other International visitors google Barbados newspapers, read
The Advocate and Nationnews online and go to the website Barbados dot org to get more information about Barbados.

Hopefully they will join the half million tourists who visit Barbados every year.

I gine an drink a likker.

Hants, BFP been laying it on thick about corruption and no integrity legislaiton or conflict of interest rules for almost four years and the first two and a half years were against the BLP government and you had no problem with BFP.

The only thing changed is the DLP won the election. We still got no rules, no ITAL and Thompson is protecting Leroy Parris from any transparency or inquiry about how things came apart so easily for CLICO. How a billion dollars on the books turned out to be worthless paper “Vapour Equity”.

Trinidad says it is fraud, but Thompson won’t let a public inquiry happen and he was CLICO’s lawyer for years when this was happening.

Hants, wouldn’t you be saying “go get ’em” if Owen Arthur was still in power and had David Thompson’s role with Clico and Parris?

    @West Side Davie

The things that have changed are that the DLP Government has to manage a billion dollar debt left by the BLP.
To be fair if the recession had not ocurred that debt would have been manageable.

The DLP is governing during a worldwide recession and they are doing a good job.

Barbados is still one of the best places on earth to live and has opportunities for Investment that will start at the end of this world recession.

Barbados. Our island in the sun which we enjoy every year with half million visitors from all over the world.

And thanks to BFP we are given the opportunity to write FREEly.

  4. Another view

Hants, I agree with your 1st article above; very tongue-in-cheek.

Also, there seems to be some peculiar hatred for Parris which I am trying to fathom.

Am I still banned from your blog? If so, please tell me. I am willing to make a contribution to your blog. There are several issues that need to be addressed.

    BFP says,

    Hello Gadfly,

You were banned for racist ranting. If you try to follow the rules, we’ll give you another chance. I took you off the list but we watchin’ you mister!
