Guyana Consul Norman Faria Expresses Admiration For Some Of The Greatest Mass Murderers In History

“Communists were, and continue to be, motivated to never accept injustice and racism and to act and speak out accordingly…”

Honorary Consul for Guyana, Norman Faria, writing his disgustingly warped Remembrance Day piece in the Nation Fighting Fascism

Will Somebody Please Buy Norman Faria A History Book?

Norman Faria simply obliterates history in his latest diarrhea published as an editorial in the Nation.

According to Faria, it was those courageous and morally righteous Russian Communists who stood up to those evil Nazi fascists. His article features Alexander “Sasha” Perchersky, a captured Russian political officer who was a Jew and led the famous Sobibor Concentration Camp rebellion. Yes, Perchersky did lead the revolt to escape Sobibor concentration camp, but in Faria’s mind that’s all it takes to say “Communists were, and continue to be, motivated to never accept injustice and racism and to act and speak out accordingly…”

(Interesting statement by Faria, that the Communists “continue to be motivated to never accept injustice…”)

Let’s have a little tour through history and see how Mr. Faria’s warped fairytale stacks up, shall we?

German-Russian Pact Divides Up Poland - August 24, 1939

German-Russian Pact Divides Up Poland – August 24, 1939

Who Invaded Poland and Started World War Two? Germany AND Russia…

Conveniently forgotten by Faria is the fact that Russian Communists invaded Poland at the same time as Hitler’s troops. You see, just a few weeks earlier in August 1939 the Russians signed this little “non-aggression pact” with Germany that split Poland between the Germany and Russia.

After invading eastern Poland the Russians (who “never accept injustice” according to Faria) murdered tens of thousands of military officers, teachers, priests, rabbis, politicians and Polish cultural leaders. Then they deported a million or two Poles to the Guglag camps as slave labour. This has been the standard Communist operational procedure right from the murder of the Czar and his children, through Lenin, Stalin, Mao and the capture of Hue City where the Communists went door to door with long prepared “please report for a meeting” lists. Those who reported were murdered.

Cambodian Children Murdered By Communists

Children Murdered By Communists In The Killing Fields Of Cambodia

Not to mention that stalwart of Communism, Pol Pot, who brought “year zero” to Cambodia. Piles of skulls and photographs of the victims of perfect communism can be found in the killing field museums throughout Cambodia.

And who can forget the religious persecution of Christians, Jews, Muslims and others by the Communists of Russia and around the world? Apparently, Norman Faria can.

Systematic Massacre Of Community Civilian Leaders By Communists - Hue City

Faria might also want to look up a few words from history as he praises his new Russian communist friends too much more. He should research the words Katyn Massacre, Gulag and Holodomor.

Cambodia - Killing Tree

Is Norman Faria On The Russian Payroll… or Only One Who Stalin Called “Useful Idiots” ?

Now before you laugh derisively at that question and ignore it as tabloid hyperbole, please consider the following…

– Russia is entering the Caribbean in a big way as it contests with China for influence and control in the area.

– Russia is arming Venezuela and will base deep-water navy vessels there. The Russian President is currently touring South America and Russian Naval vessels are at this moment entering the Caribbean for a “joint exercise” with Venezuela.

– It is well documented that Russia has, throughout the last 90 years, always maintained networks of sympathizers and agents – especially in geographical areas where it desires more influence. “Friends” within the news media are well paid.

– Consul Norman Faria is an educated man. He is not ignorant of history and certainly not ignorant of the tens of millions murdered by communists throughout their short but bloody history. Yet, he wrote the pure lies that he did.

– An analysis of the Faria article will show that he has used the Rememberance Day event to simply write a positive article about Russians and communitists. In context, the article is strained and strange. It seems apparent that Faria’s main agenda was to write something positive about the Russians during the week that their President is touring the area.

Read some history friends, then tell us what you think about Farea’s claim about Communist morality and why you think that Faria wrote as he did.

I laughed at your question about Faria on the Russian payroll but then I read his editorial in the Nation. It is a strange piece, isn’t it?

  2. 197

Faria’s statement is so at odds with reality that the editors should have picked it up. I agree with Chicago that statement is strange.

  3. Mammy Apple

Why is everyone so surprise at the rantings and actions of that idiot Norman Faria? He more vex than ever now because believe it or not the gov’t has started rounding up illegal Guyanese in Barbados and sending them back to Guyana, I know this for a fact. But they should be more aggressive and send trucks into Fairchild Street market on Friday nights and grabble up hundreds of them from there. The police and immigration must know that they congregate there and badtalk Bajans and Barbados. GET DEM OUT! And send Faria wid dem.

  4. BajanIam

Why are these people still here if Barbados not up to them standards go home wanna like rats once in and wanna bring wanna uncle aunt niece brother sister nephew mother father and all wanna in rooms like sardines immigration needs to step up with sending home some of wanna pack of dishonest stealing guyanese

  5. Hants

    Nuh lotta long talk.
    Illegal immigrants should be deported.

Legal immigrants should be welcomed and allowed to become part of Barbadian society

  6. J

    Dear BajanIam:

You wrote “Why are these people still here if Barbados not up to them standards go home wanna like rats once in and wanna bring wanna uncle aunt niece brother sister nephew mother father and all wanna in rooms like sardines”

It was not so long ago that the people from the great white north were saying EXACTLY the same thing about West Indian immigrants.

And yet many of our relatives who had moved to the great white north sent for uncle, aunt, neice, brother, sister, nephew, mother, father and they were consider GOOD FAMILY to have done so.

I am one of those rat-like, sardine-like Bajans who was glad of the oportunity to have moved to the great white north, even if it meant living living in a rooming house for a while.

    So what are you saying???

  7. J

    Dear Mammy Apple:

You wrote”they should be more aggressive and send trucks into Fairchild Street market on Friday nights and grabble up hundreds of them from there…congregate there and badtalk Bajans and Barbados.

I need to pass through Fairchild Street every evening and sometimes I stop to shop. The shopkeepers seem very happy to do business with the immigrants, and the Bajans who like to drink and socilaize a bit after work seem to enjoy the company.

Maybe you shold stop by for a drink, some food and conversation one Friday evening.

  8. Jack Bowman

    Dear BFP guys,

I think you might be making too much of this (one tiny example: it was Lenin who originated the phrase “useful idiots,” not Stalin).

Mr. Faria is self-evidently a numbskull with an unlearned and cartoonish view of history. But some things must be upheld as historical fact. Of course, we never have the counter-factual, which is why we have historians. It is quite probable that the Allies invading Europe from the west would have faced much more serious problems if the Red Army had not been invading from the east.

The number of Russian dead in what they call “The Great Patriotic War” dwarfs the numbers of English or American dead (the many works of Robert Conquest are crucial texts in this regard).

The consul’s attempt to translate history into politics might be infantile (as a professional historian, I often find this to be the case), but it is worth noting.

  9. Jack Bowman

Mammy Apple, self-evidently an idiot, had an idiotic opinion to share. Here it is:

“They should be more aggressive and send trucks into Fairchild Street market on Friday nights and grabble up hundreds of them from there. The police and immigration must know that they congregate there and badtalk Bajans and Barbados. GET DEM OUT!”

Very strange to read that here, in a post about a dullard who wrote of Sobibor. Now another dullard writes, and I quote, “get dem out”.

How stupid can a human actually be? Serious question. Can you write the above-quoted post and be a non-stupid person?

My mother was sent from Prague to Theresianstadt and then to Sobibor and then to a worse place. She survived.

Mammy Apple: please dig deep. Real, real deep, and do your best to grow a brain. If you want to protest about a man who makes infantile allusions to Sobibor, you must at least make an effort to grasp what that means.

And please let me quote you again:

“They should be more aggressive and send trucks into Fairchild Street market on Friday nights and grabble up hundreds of them from there. The police and immigration must know that they congregate there and badtalk Bajans and Barbados. GET DEM OUT!”

May whatever miserable god you have bless you.

“… the Soviet Union appears the greatest megamurderer of all, apparently killing near 61,000,000 people. Stalin himself is responsible for almost 43,000,000 of these. Most of the deaths, perhaps around 39,000,000 are due to lethal forced labor in gulag and transit thereto. ”

    from Murder by Government

61,911,000 Murdered: The Soviet Gulag State
35,236,000 Murdered: The Communist Chinese Ant Hill
20,946,000 Murdered: The Nazi Genocide State

Stalin murdered three times as may people as Hitler.

  11. Hants

One important factor in all this is that Guyana has enough land mass and natural resources to add a million people to their population.

The Government and people of Guyana need to develop their own country and make it the best it can be.

Barbados is only 166 sq. miles and already overpopulated.

  12. racism

Good old Barbadian racism is raising its ugly head again.

Those Guyanese that came in legally and contribute to Barbadian society need to be welcomed.

Those who are here illegally need to go back and help their own country rebuild.

    Full Stop.

  13. PiedPiper

Jack Thank You. This entire item by BFP is a classic example of how a “little” bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. If one is going to take a quote of Ricky Singh’s about communism and then spin it into that ridiculous headline, then some time should have been spent (and it would take a very long time) studying the history of WWII, including Russia’s participation on the eastern front. Let us also not forget that millions that were slaughtered by the non-communist nation of Germany and I refer not only to the Jews but the millions of Ukranians, Latvians, Estonians, Lithanians, French, Dutch and Poles.
It should be realized that there are those in high places in Barbados who have a vested interest in not directly confronting the issue of Guyanese (legal or otherwise) in the country. There are a significant number of business people who may also be politicians, who have investments in Guyana and to rock the boat too hard will create problems for their businesses and investments.

  14. 197

This article is a classic and I do not say that derisively as PiedPiper does. Many people have no idea that Poland was invaded by Russia as well as the Germans. The Russians went on to rape the Baltic states as a full partner of the Nazis.

The Russians supported the German march across Europe both politically and with supplies. Russia was the largest grain supplier to Germany prior to Germany’s attack of its ally in 1941. It was only after Germany’s attack that Russia became an “ally” of the USA, Britain etc.

The Russians lost 20 million in the “Great Patriotic War” but that never deterred them from slaughtering their own people and the populations of the countries they invaded and occupied for another 50 years until the collapse of the USSR.

BFP’s article is accurate and raises the relevant questions of how an educated person could massacre history so badly and how the editors at the Nation let it pass.

  15. Obi Wan

As long as Guyanese keep making phone calls to home( LIME & Digicel can smile here) and keep drinking all of our rum(Mr.RL Seale & others smile here), they will be the last people that some of us would want to put out.
And then don’t forget the landlords who rent out rooms too.

  16. Red Lake Lassie

Jack Bowman should check the origin of “useful idiots” as it never appears in Lenin’s works or quotes.

It first appears around 1948 in the time of Stalin.

Search the term on the internet and you’ll find that BFP is probably correct in attributing it to Stalin.

  17. .12

Put out the Illegals. those who are legal are welcomed to stay here as long as they don’t have a criminal record here or is as honest and reasonably worthwhile can live here.

Barbados is small and overpopulated and its building up the problems already. We’ll be soon reaching 300,000 in a matter of time.

  18. Jay

.22 Who said it hasn’t passed that number ?The DLP Government doesn’t even want to release the numbers officially should say a lot.

It is obvious Mr. Faria’s so-called Facism article surrounds efforts at dealing with immigration. What I don’t understand is how can a foreign dignitary be given so much press while the populace clearly want enforcement of immigration laws without amnesty being offered to those who are not in the country legally. The BLP already offered an amnesty in the 90’s & that didn’t work, should the DLP government offer the same reward during this recession like economy it will be a HUGE problem.

  21. The Scout

We in Barbados is NOT against persons coming to Barbados. What we are against is the influx of persons coming over and robbing local bajans of jobs. “J” this is NOT great white north, this is a little 2×3 island and we CANNOT effort any and every one who wants to come to pack their picnic basket and come. It seem you were brainwashed by your north american attitude but we in Barbados will not accept that, if you don’t like us who remained here and built this country then you too can return to the great white north.

If Mammy Apple is an idiot, therefore, this country has many many more idiots in it. For your information many of those in Fairchild Street has already been hassled out of Barbados and many more will be. Also somebody would have to explain why many bajans applied for Kiosks in that area but preference was given to guyanese. Many Mammy Apple idiots will correct this matter shortly if this government doesn’t. Jack Bowman, I hope if you are one of them, you are there shopping next time we pass.

  23. J

No Scout I an’t leaving. I here to stay.

If Bajans applied for kiosks and did not get them, does that mean that the Bajans who grant the permissions are corrupt?

And it the Bajan permission granters are corrupt, then who made them so?

I think that the fault in is us.

  24. Jack Bowman

“The Scout” has something to say to me. It’s excellent, and here it is:

    Okay. Good.

Leaving aside for the moment your mildly bizarre grasp of capitalization, can you explain how “Many Mammy Apple idiots will correct this matter shortly if this government doesn’t”?

Is this in any way an exhortation to nationalist or racial violence? Should I alert the police? I’m confused. What does it mean?

The Scout adds: “Jack Bowman, I hope if you are one of them, you are there shopping next time we pass.”

Very hard to understand this sentence. Who is the “them” that I might be part of? Who is the “we” that passes? Why do you hope that I might be shopping next time you pass?

I appreciate that basic expository prose is difficult for the feeble of mind, but could you try to explain what your post means? Many thanks. And may your god go with you.

  25. Mammy Apple

Oh, stop being so bloody melodramatic, Jack Bowman, whoever you are. Nationalist or racial violence, my foot. Alert the police? No wonder you’re confused. We Bajans have been more than tolerant over the illegal Guyanese issue for quite a while and we don’t resort to violence like your beloved Guyanese do. A peaceful march to Government Headquarters would do the trick. But there again, Bajans seem to lack the guts to do that. We are much too tolerant and the only way we can express our fears and anger is through these blogs.

  26. 199

Congratulations, BFP on yet another brilliant, article. I’m fairly, knowledgable of this subject but ur expertise exceeds even mine.

Was n’t aware of the Russians’ interest in our region and your suggested reasons seem very, plausible to me. Their usual, behaviour in my experience!! My advice to all caribbeans would be to ‘beware of the Russians’!! Don’t expect to be given something by them, for nothing in return. As far as lil B’dos is concerned, we can only hope that our new, PM has his head screwed on and will make the right, decisions!!

It’s certainly, a difficult time in our region’s history!! May the lord be with us!!

Many of the posters here, seem to think this subject is about the Guyanese in Bim!!

  27. Eye95

    Hants,

Since this topic is tourism or have a foreign affairs compent, I feel compel to make the following observation.

On Tuesday, November 18th 2008, the then Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, the Hon. Christopher Sinckler, M.P., said that Barbados was bracing itself for another assault by the Organization for Economic Corporation and Development (OECD)

According to him, Barbados’ offshore tax incentives were not enough and it needed to separate tax information exchange agreements with at least 12 OECD countries.

Within two days of him having said that, a well educated, competent professional public servant – the Director of International Business in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – dismissed the Minister’s comments and said that Barbados does not have to return to a 2001 position where it has to defend its position against charges of being a tax haven.

According to her, Barbados is now at the forefront of promoting international cooperation in tax information exchange and transparency.

Now BFP and Hants, “somebody” is telling lies.

    I believe the public servant.

All I know is that Sinckler’s comments were made in Parliament and he is no longer the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

He has since become the DLP “Fatted Calf Distributor, and its: Minister of Pork Barrel, Slush Funds and Fatted Calf.

    Any comment Hants, BFP?

  28. Jack Bowman

Mammy Apple has something to say to me. It’s worth reading. Here it is:

    ___________________

Questions, naturally, arise. First, can you give me any evidence, any evidence at all, that Guyanese are “beloved” to me?

Second, if “a peaceful march to Government Headquarters would do the trick. But there again, Bajans seem to lack the guts to do that,” why aren’t you organizing the march?

Why? You think you can bleat anonymously about this, and suggest a “solution”, but you don’t want to be part of the “solution”? Why aren’t you organizing this peaceful march that will “do the trick”? Is it because you’re gutless too?

  29. Mammy Apple

No, Mr. Bowman, not gutless – just disabled. I don’t think I could organise a march from a wheelchair.

  30. Jack Bowman

Mammy Apple has this to say:

    —————————–

No, Mr. Bowman, not gutless – just disabled. I don’t think I could organise a march from a wheelchair.
    —————————–

You have to be able to walk to organise a march? Since when?

Obviously, you feel very strongly about something. You feel so strongly about it that you publicly assert this opinion:

“They should be more aggressive and send trucks into Fairchild Street market on Friday nights and grabble up hundreds of them from there. The police and immigration must know that they congregate there and badtalk Bajans and Barbados. GET DEM OUT!”

An artless assertion, obviously (particularly the wearingly demotic “DEM”, a usage so boring as to be dismissed out of hand), but still a belief fervently held.

If you hold a fervent belief and you want to organise a march to show support for that belief, what disability is there in a wheelchair? It is obvious that you can use the Internet
If you can type well enough to use the Internet, it is a reasonable assumption that you can use the phone. In short, being in a wheelchair is zero impediment to organizing the march you want to arrange.

If you want to organise this march, on my mother’s grave I will come to your house every day and help you do what is necessary to make it easier for you.

I will not patronize your disability. Please do not patronize my intellect.

From what i’ve been hearing , it is more than those “terrible “Guyanese that are being deported. Try Vincentians, Trinis and EUs and those with legitimate work permits are not being renewed and are being harrassed .Last week a Canadian teacher that is married to a Bajan ( born and bred) was picked up from St Gabriel’s school by immigration during school hours. There is more to this than just rounding up the illegals and ship dem out .

  32. Jay

    Wondering,You are absolutely correct.

I’ve been hearing immigration has sometimes been overly assertive due to actions of Ms. McClean, hence why I mentioned a balanced approach to this issue & the case you have highlighted might have been the reason she was re-assigned.

However, even those with work-permits or in Barbados legally should be looked at due to the fact that the immigration department has been known to take money on the side for processing work permits, hence why I think Mr. Greaves was let go & Ms. McClean has been so assertive in her role.It has been well known that all of this has been happening under the BLP government, including legalizing a person’s status who has been in the country illegally for 5 years where they would still be given Barbados permanent residency for some pocket change,& this is AFTER the Amnesty of the 90’s.

The enforcement has also been hurting Tourist numbers from what I’ve seen pertaining to visa extensions as well or long stay tourists, but it is quite understandable because of the current illegal immigration problem. My guess is that the new Immigration minister will take a more balanced approach with continuing the deportations of those illegally in the country while looking over the current work permit situation on if the person is deserving of the status.

  33. J

wondering wrote “.Last week a Canadian teacher that is married to a Bajan ( born and bred) was picked up from St Gabriel’s school by immigration during school hours.

and Jay replied “the case you have highlighted might have been the reason she was re-assigned.”

But neither wondering nor Jay has made it clear whether the Canadian had a work permit. People married to Bajans do not automatically have permission to work.

Can wondering or Jay tell us whether the Canadian had a work permit.

And if the Canadian did not have a work permit would it not be unreasonable and wrong of the Prime Minister to reassign (punish) Ms. McClean for doing her job according to the law.

Or is it that we Bajan want Guyanese, especially Guyanese of East Indian orogin deported, but we do not want Canadians deported?

Can anybody explain why this might be so?

  34. The Scout

I will state it over and over again,if anyone is legitimately in Barbados, let them stay. The illegal ones MUST be deported. I witnessed an indo-guyanese on the street begging for money. Is she any help to this country? Why is she here? Get her 0ut.

  35. The Scout

    Jack Bowman
It seems your getting the message at last. You want to go to the police, well go ahead, it would just save them coming for you before someone else does. By the way, take along a whole bus full, we paid to send back Africans, we could pay Caribbean Airlines to take a FULL plane load. Maybe if you do that, you may get amnesty for helping Barbados cleanse itself of these nasty, don’t bath infidels. Thanks in advance for your co-operation

  36. blink169

I agree Faria wrote a strange article with the purpose of making the Russians look good. Is he on the Russian payroll? The answer is “in his heart, YES.”

  37. wondering

I would assume that an upstandtanding private school and any other proper institutuion would ensure that all required paperwork is in order before employment. Highlighting the Canadian woman situation was to show that it was not only a “Guyanese isssue” . So this is where my problem is : if the goverment feels that the immigration policy needs to be be changed or tightened or enforced, all they have to do is first let the people know with a fixed deadline to get themselves in orderand if they can’t ..leave. Then it is well within their right to act accordingly. All we had so far, is the PM saying that Bajans must be hired first and Kellman saying BIM can’t take any more immigrants… is that policy ? The government is not articulating themselves very clearly on what they want . And specifically Barbados needs a report on the negatives and positives of immigration so we all here can form a proper opinion rather than some hateful racist garbage rants that appears on this post

  38. The Scout

    Wondering
All we bajans are asking for is some proper, precise regulation to our immigration policy. Both parties/ governments have been pussyfooting around for too long. Barbados is not new to these people but over the last 10 yrs the floodgates were open and it has become a serious problem in this country. Especially with the indo-guyanese who have become very arrogant and knowing how they treat blacks back in their country, we bajans will not allow this to happen here. Call it racism, call it patriotic, whatever, it has to be regulated to the benefit of barbadians.

  39. Eye95

This is problem with the Government – governance by delay and public opinion.

Mr. Kellman, Dr. Denis Lowe and even Prime Minister Thompson – gave the impression that there are too many illegal immigrants in this country.

According to Mr. kellman’s maths, some 50,000.

There is the Immigration, Customs, Coast guard, Police and over 28,000 persons in the public service of Barbados.

Why not utilise them and have a massive “island sweep; clean up” for Independence?

Start from St. Lucy and sweep the entire island the same day. Have transport board busses; ZRs and ZMs standing by to provide transport.

After 11 months ruling the country, why not stop the “lotto long talk” and put them out?

Having done that, maybe then Barbadians will get the 2000 houses Michael Lashley promised to build by december and those 500 house-spots.

Perhaps then Barbadians will get reduced prices, see less vehicles on the roads, and will no longer have to worry about the dangerous mismanagement of the Barbados economy or government price gouging them on petroleum products and land tax.

Can we expect that once illegal immigrants are deported, the DLP will suddenly know what it is doing and will no longer have to reverse itself on everything it said while in Opposition?

    Any comment, Hants?

  40. Hants

Illegal immigrants or persons who breach the terms of a work permit should be deported.

Persons immigrating or working in Barbados legally should be welcomed and treated with respect.

“Helping Barbados cleanse itself of these nasty, don’t bath infidels.” That assertion, I suspect, requires no rebuttal. It’s better simply to leave it hanging out there, for ever, in cyberspace, yet another testament to subliterate racism.

Any racism coming from me was started by the same bunch of infidels. Ever since plantations used to bring in guyanese and house them in converted barns on plantation land, guyanese were coming to this country. In fact some of the best panboilers at sugar factories were from guyana or B.G then. These people were welcomed to this country and mixed well with the locals. It is only within the last 10 years that we have a new breed of guyanese coming here with their nasty indo- guyanese habits and arrogance that spur the race talk. When a indo- guyanese, in his drunken stupper would refer to us as ” stupid BLACK bajan,” what response you expect? In Physics, the first law is simple ” For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. In this case, the reaction would not be equal but much worse.

    Scout :
“All we bajans are asking for is some proper, precise regulation to our immigration policy. Both parties/ governments have been pussyfooting around for too long..”
Agreed . However there cannot be a proper policy if no one has any idea what the actual effects are on our population…e.g are the financial pressure on the social services (which all is complaining about) greater than what government collects in VAT due to increase consumption and other residual taxes. I,as a Bajan and a taxpayer want to hear facts not some story of what an Indo Guyanese does or says. And Scout , a little piece of advice : what happens in Guyana or any other country can only be understood by the natives so please don’t make sweeping statements about who is being treated badly in their own country..Guyana had 25 some odd years of black government that was repressive and now 16 years of Indo government that is corrupt and could care less about anyone. I wouldn’t expect anyone foreign to understand the pecularities of Bajan society.

Hants :Persons immigrating or working in Barbados legally should be welcomed and treated with respect.

Agreed too. And the operative words here are “welcomed and respect” .Let us see how this plays out . I’m willing to give this a little more time until the dust from all the stories are settled.

My fellow Barbadians, now is truly the time for reflection.

In just eleven short months, as citizens of this country, we are again being forced to stare social and economic decline in its cold face.

We now find ourselves faced with the distinct possibility of economic and social decline.

The decisions and choices our government made since January 15th 2008, are already causing tremendous economic pain and suffering for too many.

Those decisions will ultimately determine how citizens of this country survive over the next four years.

The decisions our government makes now will continue undermine and prevent our efforts to create a just and equitable society.

The DLP’s “fatted calf doctrine” or the “DLP-Members-First-Policy,” just will not help.

Take note also that putting Barbados back on track will not be achieved without sacrifice, innovation and hard work.

It is the lack of these qualities on the part of the present government that has triggered its manufactured meltdown of the Barbados economy, and it forcing our country down the “pathway to impoverishment.”

We must remember that if we again lose our economic independence, as happened between 1991 and 1994 when the DLP was in office, individually and collectively, we will jeopardize what is to be our mission – the mission of the Children of Independence – that of real change and taking Barbados to the next higher level of development.

We therefore have it within our power to rescue our country and put it back on track.

I agree that the real change we seek is the change within each of us. Do you?

“What do they know of communism who only communism know?”

Mr. Faria is obviously a student of history. The global and U.S. communist parties have a long history of tolerance and inclusion of all races. Our own Richard Moore, who was instrumental in the formation of the BLP, was a leading voice for the communist party during the 1920’s and 1930’s.

Communism, as a theory, is a lot better than Communism as humans are practising it!

We always manage to twist & turn certain facets of ANY theory to suit us! Russia did it, Germany did it, England did it, and the U.S.A. is doing it!

Oh, by the way, Russia was very smart in it’s manouvering in WWII. They went with Germany for a while, but when Germany started to get too big for it’s britches and started to attack Russia, the Russians said, “Oh HELL NO!”, and immediately swung to the Allies after being with the Axis for a time.

It’s all about what benefits them, as it is with all of us…
