    gimme some details… ? ? ? how do I ‘tune in’ ?

  2. Bajanboy

    This should be interesting.

  3. Adrian Hinds

It was only a matter of time. Things are progressing nicely. Carl Moore eat your heart out. 😀

  4. Jason

Oh Boy. My imagination is going wild. Can’t wait until the morning!

  5. Jushua Bin Juseph

You idiots have no idea what you’re saying. You’ll deserve what you get. A station of nincumpoops, for nincumpoops.

  6. nincompoops

“You’ll deserve what you get. A station of nincumpoops, for nincumpoops.”

yes but we will all be nincumpoops ( spelling? ) together
including you who appears to be contributing even in a very small way.

  7. Red Lake Lassie

“Oh Boy” is right, Jason. Will it be a podcast or streaming? Will the radio version of BFP be as irreverent as the blog? I can’t wait either.

  8. passin thru

This will drive the government wild! Who will be broadcasting? David Ellis? 😉

  9. akabozik

I have it on good authority that David Ellis was the first pick but he turned down the job. Former Minister of Tourism Noel Lynch will be the host, with Adrian Loveridge as co-host. 😉

  10. Jaushua Bin Jusef

This so-called free press does not allow free opinions. You stray, you get ‘fair warning’. Then you’re moderated. Oh you nincumpoops, guess you are all suckers for a healthy diet of Chinese, African and Arab bashing.

  11. Jaushua Bin Jusef

    Sorry and Simmons bashing too.

  12. 297

Suggestions: Podcasts yes. Include some links for more information about the story. I thought Shona was Bajan?????

  13. Munchies

I love it! BFP Radio is #1

  14. 4:00am and I already tuned in.

  15. twwifos

Good idea , but it needs work. The voice enhancement is a distraction and difficult to understand at times. Too robot like.

I can’t imagine anyone tuning in. Will get stale really quick unless you make it more like a real radio program.

  16. Adrian Loveridge

    Akabozik..

No! that would be far too expensive.
    They would need two studios.

  17. Thistle

A noble attempt! I like the idea, and the annunciation is clear and easy on the ears, but for BARBADOS Free Press, I would prefer a Bajan voice! I know, I know – you’ll have malicious types blogging in to say, “Wait! I know that voice. I does see he/she at …..” so for the sake of true anonymity, you’ll have to stick to an anonymous voice (but change it up to Yankee/Canadian (no Trini, please) accent from time to time). Well done.

  18. nonsense

I agree – nice voice work from Shona but could we have a Bajan please. Modify it or whatever but this sounds a little bit too bbc.

  19. Centipede

    SWEET !

  20. Anon

It can be downloaded using, Real Player Plus, Orbit downloader, Vdownloader, Ashampoo clipfinder, Net Transport, Youtubeget and a host of other youtube downloaders.

  21. Zachary

Fantastic job, BFP. Voice reproduction is very clear and as you stated and for obvious reasons, must be enhanced. Little bit short, but very sweet. Looking forward to more. Lol, we gine brek dem up.

  22. Adrian Hinds

It is a good first start. I can now download 😀 the audio file and listen to BFP while commuting to and from work.

BFP so you, I am willing to be the real voice news reader should you need one. 😀

  23. Publish The Threats

    Hello BFP and Shona.

Will you be publishing the audio tape recording of Peter Simmons making the theats?

  24. Barbados Free Radio, that’s the name I have given it, I hope that Banks Beer paying for the promotion. LMAO.

  25. I agree with “nonsense” – it is way too BBC, almost justifies accusations that Adrian Loveridge is involved…

This is BARBADOS free press, ok? Another thing, the rotating supers are monotonous, use pictures of who you’re featuring between listing links – even if it’s a freeze page of a website!

Music for theme? As you are anonymous, royalties mean nothing, LOL

  26. Centipede

what’s wrong wid you primary school people… did you not read “Shona (electronically enhanced) will be doing the reading…” do you really think this is a ‘real’ voice? come on.

  27. Tell me Why

Would it be a lopsided radio feed promoting one party? Imagine Cuba focusing on the democratic or Republican system.

  28. The Truth

Great job…..but instead of looking at a blank screen put photos up of the stars of your stories…

  29. Jaushua Bin Jusef

    Ian Bourne
I asked you once when you read the BBC on CBC (alright so you were the first before the guys on Mornin’ Barbados) to read other items from other relevant sources of news and opinions. You flatly refused. How could anything be “too BBC” for you conquistador?

Seriously, am I the only non-Anglo-American, non-God-fearing, non-thorough-bred homie on this site? Christ, what a collection of…

  30. x

That’s not an audio altered Shona – that’s a automated reader, reading typed text. Why try to trick? You can tell by listening to same words (e.g. Barbados) and from the reading of the letters

  31. “Jaushua, etc.” I remember that topic more than once at CBC – 1st of all? I did not and still do not own the station.

The license for Int’l News to use at the time was BBC then CNN then only certain amounts or portions as Editors never really developed a consistent policy of copyright issues with overseas services.

They wanted to carry everyone but do it for free, so from one week to the next it was who is allowed for use tonight?

You really thought I could get into that detail while I was employed there? You must have written your note from Kandahar’s poppy fields.

That is why I said since BFP is anonymous, they can skirt copyright issues and run all kinds of stuff. If they get the latest Real player they can download any video then upload it wherever; use whatever piece of music they select for a theme – be it Miami Vice or Shaft or any such biz.

  32. Wishing in Vain

To those of you loyal supporters of the Opposition party (what is left of it anyway) may I draw your attention to the Newspapers of todays date where we are seeing some really interesting developments.

First we have your blp sitting member in full agreement and singing the praises of the DLP minister of housing and the ruling party with them delivering the notices informing the tenants that they are now entitled to own their own home, this is remarkable for more than one reason, the first being the obvious difference in method and plan of operation between the duds of the blp, they wanted to make these same people take out loans to own the same homes that they have paid for in some instances in excess of 20 years, as opposed to a caring considerate Gov’t who has said to these same persons look you have lived and you have paid rents for 20 years do the legal work and the home is yours to pass on to your children and for them to pass on to their children.

Secondly it clearly shows a divide between the thinkings of the rest of the blp and their independent blp member Mr Hammy Lashley for somewhile now Mr Lashley has been hurting and hating the blp and its policies and finally he has spoken out clearly and openly about where he stands and it there for all to see, he fully supports the DLP with its programs and its policies which are so unlike those of the side for which he was elected.

As Mr Thompson said in recent debate he has the support of the 20 on his side and 2 on the other side that makes for a commanding majority.

Then also today we have the headline story that yet another FORENSIC AUDIT has been ordered for the URBAN DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION this along with the other one being held into the operations at HARDWOOD HOUSING is the way to go in bringing these CROOKS to justice, we will await the next two to follow and in my books the ones dealing with the awarding of the contracts with the VECO OIL STORAGE FACILITY, THE VECO PRISON, and DANOS 3 S may yet hook the biggest fish in the river of corruption, Mascot is guilty as charged at Hardwood Housing, Edghill and Trotman guilty as charged at URBAN DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION but when we get to VECO and DANOS 3S I just cannot wait to see the results, do the names NICHOLLS, ARTHUR, WILLIAMS, DANOS, BANNISTER and HOBSON ring any bells?

I am sure it will make great reading when the time comes for the investigation.

  33. Bimbro

‘Too, BBC?’!!!! Yeah, like a Barbadian accent is going to get you far in life!!!!!

    Laaaaaaaaaaaaddddddddddddddddd!!!!

Dese people does mek me weep!!!!

  34. Mr bimbro – When I read news, I never became UK or Americanised at the same time I was mildly Bajan – it can be done with correct modulation

I would rather have a Bajan accent and be here than speak like I am not and be miserable elsewhere, I have been overseas – it’s great for a visit but not necessarily for a permanent lodging

So if a Bajan accent in life will hinder me? Tell it to COW or Bizzy, get real

  35. Bimbro

‘Thanks’ for that reply, Ian. I was n’t actually, thinking of you when I wrote the piece. I don’t remember if I read your previous contribution or anybody’s response to it. In fact, I saw you read the news in Bim and thought you were very, impressive. I was actually, thinking of Barbadians succeeding internationally! If you’d rather stay in Bim, then, I guess, that’s fine!

I’d often wondered, in view of Bim’s reputed excellent education, why I’d never seen a Barbadian journalist working on British or American tv. The only caribbean journalists I know of that ilk are all Jamaican – I can think of 3 to 4, immediately! Perhaps, Barbadians’ ambitions are limited to the rock, which of course, they’re entitled to do!

I’m very, happy that Rihanna, for a change, had a different perspective!

  36. Bimbro

As for COW and BIZZY. I believe that they, too, are based in Bim! I could of course, be mistaken. However, they’re not media personalities!

  37. Think globally, act locally *OR* Keep your feet on the ground, and reach for the stars

  38. BTW: Paris Hilton’s claim to fame is twofold; her grandpa’s hotel chain and a spiteful ex uploaded a sex video of themselves onto the Internet, yet she is deemed a media personality despite the fact she cannot sing nor act

    *********************

    BFP says,

    True, Ian…

And don’t forget to ask how a girl with such green skin could be a media personality!

    😉

    Cliverton

  39. PPS: So yes, COW & Bizzy are Bajan media personalities, in that the media focusses on them [ also, Bizzy wrote here on BFP, so he HAS to be 😉 ]

  40. Bimbro

Ian, on the question of ‘getting real’, I know that COW is white and assume that BIZZY is, too! Where r the BLACK, COWs and BIZZYs? Shall we ‘get real’ on that one? Plus, of course, YOURS TRULY, are WHITE, are n’t you?!!!!

Ok, so not withstanding my last question above, where are the Barbadian, INTERNATIONAL, media personalities? Is n’t it that there are n’t any, apart from Rihanna, and have n’t you figured out why?

  42. I wonder if these comments are all bimbro? Where does race get into it? One look at Bizzy or myself and you can see we’re mixed, what does one colour or another have to do with anything?

Rupee has had international attention before Rihanna, so did Richild Springer – dancer and daughter of former GG, Sir Hugh

Maybe you don’t realise it but usually “a claim to fame” requires some kind of effort, after all – how many commentators here will openly say – “You know when BFP wrote about so and so? I responded, and lemme tell ya, they NEVER expected it!

All I did was appear on TV a bit, and tried to make a difference with the boring way CBC did news… Then I turned to Govt and assisted in making ppl respect and appreciate a certain Dept. In addition, I continued looking at alternative news methods in creating my own blog – which is what I advise most commentators on the Net anyways.

So bimbro, what’s YOUR claim to fame?

  43. Bimbro

what does one colour or another have to do with anything?

    ******************************

Nothing at all, Ian. I was born, yesterday! Your other readers can speak for themselves!

Of the people who you claim have had international exposure, I’ve only heard of Rihanna!

Don’t really, understand what u meant by that, Ian. Paradoxically, guess, I’m too British/WHITE!! Lord!!!!

Ian, I in intrested in fame! Lord!

I’m only interested to know why in 99% BLACK Bim, there’re no BLACK COWs or BIZZYs, that’s all, my ex-newsreader, friend!

  44. Bimbro

So, Ian, you’re mixed!! And I thought it was just a tan! But then I was n’t there for long!!!

    Lorrrrddddddddddddd!!!! 🙂

  45. You don’t know Rupee or Richild Springer? If you don’t know that – then stay in UK and stay out of Bajan matters near or far, you really get on ppl’s effing nerves – here and at BU

  46. It is your repeated tasteless remarks like the one I never published on Heath Ledger’s passing on my own Blog, you seem to have a thing of being gauche at death – is that your way of compensating? Why bother? Just read some Dr Kevorkian and take his prescription instead… Nobody would be sad, trust me!

  47. Bimbro

Utmost apologies for not knowing Rupee or Richild! I guess every Barbadian in the world does, not to mention everybody, in the world, of course, except me!

Do u see why I question your sanity, both here and at BU!

I’ve no idea, at all, what ur referring to, here! I’m not aware of visiting your blog for some considerable, time!

  48. Bimbro

Ian, you can apologise about my making remarks on your blog, when you’re ready! I shan’t hold my breath because I appreciate you’re reluctant for all to recognise you were talking **it, as usual!
