Dead Fridges Can Be Made Happy Again!

Town Hall Meeting on Bulky Waste at Deacon’s Primary School

Next Wednesday 16th April 2008

The Blackrock Polyclinic with the Barbados Ministries of Environment & Health will be hosting a Town Hall meeting at the Deacon’s Primary School, 1st Ave. Bird’s River, St Michael at 7:00 pm on Wednesday 16th April 2008.

This meeting is for the following districts only – the Deacon’s Farm and Rosemont Housing areas – persons from these communities will be told about a bulky waste cleaning campaign for the Farm and Rosemont during April 21st to 25th.

Talks at Deacon’s Primary will be given by – the Sanitation Service Authority, the Environmental Protection Department, the Solid Waste Project Unit and the Vector Control Unit.

Bulky waste items consist of old appliances like fridges and ovens as well as similar metallic items like galvanise as well as old furniture or other wooden or plastic items, etc.

These items are to be set near your regular refuse by no later than 2:00 pm of Sunday 20th April 2008, please separate your bulky waste items into wood and other items in one pile and another for only metal objects.

Once again, all residents from the Deacon’s Farm and Rosemont Housing areas are asked to make a special effort to attend Deacon’s Primary at seven o’clock, Wednesday night on 16th April 2008. Together, we can all keep Barbados clean!
