Story Broken By Drudge Report – The Same US Website That Broke The Monica Lewinski Scandal

“The deployment had been cloaked in secrecy under a news blackout deal agreed across the UK media to prevent details reaching the Taliban and endangering Harry and his comrades.

But the arrangement broke down today after news was leaked out on the US website the Drudge Report…”

  1. well there’s another reason for the British to dislike the Americans

  2. Bimbro

Forgive me for asking, BFP, but why should this be of interest to us????

    ****************

    BFP says,

We take an interest in the royals and have printed many articles on the Royal Family. It may not be of interest to you, but many Bajans would find it newsworthy that the 3rd in line for the throne is in combat.

We still have a Queen, you know – and Harry is her grandson.

  3. Bimbro

Thanks for the reply, BFP. It’s funny, I live day & I could n’t care less!!

Anyway, different strokes for different folks!!!!

  4. odds increased

Well I guess thats it for Harry.

Now that he has been highlighted as on duty in Iraq, the British government will probably have to remove him from harms way.

Instead of having a one per cent chance of being attacked and killed or injured, he just moved up to 20%.

  5. Sundowner

Shame the US broke the story, he’s just trying to live as ‘normal’ a life as possible.

  6. Rumboy

I wonder which press broke the news, yanks or the brits. Some how I believe that the yanks did and it’s no wonder as they are a nation with no respect for others. They build heroes and then knock them down. Take the fiasco with Obama and the muslim dress. I remember that Clinton went to an African nation as was pictured wearing their national dress. No unnecessary negative feedback then, wonder why. Amuricans my man.

  7. Anton Chigurh

Shameless spin. It’s supposed to be a top secret and he gets more press coverage than Britney Spears.

On the day the Guardian writes, “After six years of US-led military support and billions of pounds in aid, security in Afghanistan is “deteriorating” and President Hamid Karzai’s government controls less than a third of the country, America’s top intelligence official has admitted.

Mike McConnell testified in Washington that Karzai controls about 30% of Afghanistan and the Taliban 10%, and the remainder is under tribal control.

  8. Sundowner

He’s being sent home amid ‘fears for his safety’

  9. The people must be first not politricks

So what makes the prince any different to any soldier?

  10. rumboy

Absolutely nothing. They bleed just like the rest of us.

  11. Taliban

Does anyone know his exact location in Afghanistan?

Harry is a soldier, and the last thing he would want is to be pulled out of a combat zone. After all, that is what he has been training for. Now that the news is out, his removal is necessary to both protect him and the unit with which he serves, which will now be the subject of intense search by the enemy, and under the circumstances, his unit would be pretty easy to track down. Regardless of whether you support the war, all these young men deserve our support for their commitment and bravery, and that includes Harry, who apparently, has been operating in very forward positions, to accurately pinpoint enemy targets.

  15. I think it’s bloody irresponsible – I continue to have good relations with the RBPF as they were planning security initiatives and I have up to now not revealed them and therefore I am still deemed trustworthy.

Harry for wanting to fight just like any other soldier is, pardon the use, noble.

However, I wish he was fighting for the UK’s own reasons and not to steal oil for Halliburton/Cheney via Bush Jr!

  16. Jukecheckedeyskirt

Wow. The prince is given special priviledges and protection amidst growing concerns for his safety. Ok help me out here folks, is he not a bloody soldier. What about all the other sons and daughters. Not saying he should not be treated with royalty but he is soldier and was trained to fight. So if he is not to fight why the heck he was trained to be a soldier? Chuuuuuuuuupse

  17. TMS

So if he is not to fight why the heck he was trained to be a soldier?

    ——————————–

he was fighting, has been for several months.

cover now blown he and his men become special targets

  18. me

actually ,oving him home also makes it safer for the men fighting with him since all of them become more targetted!

  19. Jukecheckedeyskirt

Are you kidding me. All British and American soldiers are the talibans special targets. Yes the prince wouldd be an incentive but come on special targets???

  20. John

I see in today’s paper that the Taliban has ordered him to be tracked down, …… kind of unfair as they don’t do this to soldiers in general.

Can’t imagine why they would single him out for special treatment.

Maybe it is because he is a royal.

All is fair in love and war.

  21. young one

Jukecheckedeyskirt, has hit the nail on the head. what about my child or the next persons child? ANY soldier is a target for the Taliban. we talk about the media here in Bim.

what was one of the 1st things that happen after Bush jr. got in the whitehouse? had a meeting with the same Taliban leaders, where? in the same whitehouse. Now because Obama would meet with leader of Iran and Cuba, he gets hand for who of all ppl? Bush jr. and the media does not do a “fact check”.

end of the day, we are all pawns in a big mans game. so the life of PRINCE Harry, means more than the over 3900 US soldiers kill in Iraq. hey! i just learn some maths.

    1 prince’s life = 3959 lifes

  22. Sundowner

He was withdrawn, because now its public knowledge, it would put the lives of his regiment in danger as Taliban/terrorists would love to capture 3rd in line to the British throne.
The British media had a news blackout on the situation since December. Harry is no more important than any other soldier, and must be fairly pissed off that its become public and once again he can’t lead a ‘normal’ life, he’s a trained soldier who can’t serve because of the family he was born into.

  23. Jukecheckedeyskirt

Because of the family he is born into
    ……………………………………………………………………………….

All those soldiers have families they were born into. I ain’t see anyone pulling them out of the war. How the heck you expect the other soldiers to feel. Are their lives not as important as the prince. He poops, catches cold and have bad breath like any other. He might have a Royal wiper but the point is he too wipes He should not have gone to war in the first place if he posed a threat to himself and the lives of his fellow soldiers. This is all just publicity stunt to look good on the Historical Royal resume. I can see it now “Prince Harry fought in the Afghanistan war killed many Talipan. After all a lie soon becomes truth after a few years

  24. TMS

Juke and others, you just dont get it

All the soldiers are targets, this is true. However, the strategic value of killing Harry is enormous to the Taliban. Similarly the cost to the British in strategic value is also enormous. Vastly more than one dead british soldier.

A dead prince would rally support of the Taliban, disrupt moral of the british troops, kill support of the war back at home etc etc. It would be an enormous set back and probably lengthen the conflict.

Because of his STRATEGIC value, the brits would in turn have to deploy and waste massive resources to protect him. Put at an ELEVATED risk several other soldiers maybe hundreds of them

Some soldiers would be killed just protecting him instead of making other strategic gains.

The only rational decision is to pull him out. It is a waste of resources to keep him there.

    Think about it.

  25. TMS

I am no royal family fan but the man has been there since december.

If he took advantage of his special position he would never been there in the first place.

It makes total sense to get him out no matter how lucky he maybe to get out

  26. Technician

This was publicity stunt of the highest order. As heir to the throne , you are not supposed to be in combat.
This is the modern day rules for the Royal family.
Go check it out and see.

  27. Patrick

young onwe is criticising the prince, but if the american media hadn’t been so dishonest, there would have been no situation

  28. Anonymous

You (above) guys hate America. Checking my own sources I see that it was other than American sources who first leaked the info. You all (above) cannot see that, shouting racismn while all the while being oh so racist yourselves.

  29. sewsueme54

I think that you have to consider that having the enemy know that Prince Harry was in Afghanistan, it not only put Price Harry’s life in jeopardy, it also put the other soldiers’ lives in jeopardy. I think it should affect us.

“The planned deployment had been disclosed to reporters, with no specific date, and was not reported previously under a pool agreement between the Ministry of Defence and all major news organizations operating in Britain. The news blackout was intended to reduce the risk to the prince and his regiment.

The news embargo was broken, however, after reports of the prince’s deployment were leaked by an Australian magazine and a German newspaper, and then reported on a U.S. website, the Drudge Report.”

I ain going to screw any of you for your racial or preferential bias.

All who wrote what they wrote may (or may not) learn from the mistakes made and try to understand what they have locked within themselves.

I am proud of my Bajan Yank root, among all the other roots, and want all you to know. Boo!

Did they ‘forget’ to visit us????
