Barbados Free Press Launches Print Edition

Printable Edition Of Controversial Barbados Blog Now Available!

“This will shake things up a bit…”

Barbados Free Press is pleased to announce that the first edition of our printable BFP news flyer is now available for downloading. Readers can print the two-sided BFP news flyer at home or at work (hey… don’t get caught!) and then share our stories with friends and strangers who may not have regular access to a computer.

Think about it… print up a dozen copies and leave a few in the back of the ZR on your way to school or work. Leave one in each washroom stall at the Agriculture Ministry or at the airport. When no one is looking, put one on the restaurant table next to yours – then watch the fun!

We’ll guarantee that a few will be left in the lunch rooms at the CBC and the Nation News!

Twice a month (we’ll try really hard, folks!) we’ll put a new edition online for our readers to print out and take to work, school or the lime. Each edition will feature a few hot issues from the past two weeks and invite readers to read the full articles at the Barbados Free Press blog.

Why A Print Edition Of Barbados Free Press?

For the last week all mainstream Barbados news media – newspapers, radio and television – have remained silent about a scandal surrounding Barbados’ Flyover Project.

Jonathan Danos, the President of the company building our new flyovers and highway system, is being sued by his former employer for a fraud involving secret kickbacks on a bridge project for the Government of Jamaica. This story is no mere rumour or speculation – the court documents are available online for all to see and two Barbados blogs have had the documents posted since September 4th.

The fact that the President of the company that is building Barbados’ way-over-budget flyovers is being sued for fraud and secret kickbacks in relation to a similar bridge project for another Caribbean government is a HUGE news story.

Sunday was the sixth day that the print, broadcast and electronic mainstream Barbados news media ignored this story.

Citizens must ask themselves and the news media, “Why?”

The Barbados highway and flyover bridge project is worth hundreds of millions of dollars and was awarded by the Barbados government behind closed doors under circumstances that have even the most jaded government supporters shaking their heads. Now the President of the flyover contracting company is being sued for fraud and secret kickbacks on his last big government project – and our media remains silent. Our Government remains silent. Our so-called Opposition remains silent.

As Happened Many Times Before, An Important Story Should Have Been Covered Immediately By The Bajan News Media – But They Hid It From Barbados Citizens

Enough!

If the Barbados news media wishes to continue as nothing more than a mouthpiece for the government, so be it.

Ordinary Bajan citizens will print one page BFP news flyers and leave them for others to read. Together we will start to take back our democracy and make our elected and appointed government officials accountable – one story, one scandal, one flyer at a time.

Freedom of the press belongs to those who have one – and we all have one now.

This two page flyer (one paper – front and back) is posted here in .jpg format. You will have to touch each page, then right click or otherwise save the .jpg to your computer – then print it using any number of popular programs that work with this .JPG format.

These two pages are in colour, but we intend to post a simpler black and white format tomorrow (Tuesday). In the future, we hope to make both versions available every other Sunday evening.

You can also email the .JPGs to your friends!

“This will shake things up a bit”

    I guess it will BFP!

I printed 20 both sides on an old HP laserjet III and it looks good in black and white. Had to frig with it to get page 2 right side up. No problem if some are upside down.

  2. Shaken Not Stirred

Suggestion for next time why not do a PDF because all the pages would be together? You could go to 4 pages if you want with no more trouble for the readers who want to print it out.

  3. Shaken Not Stirred

Not being critical BFP. I think the idea of a printed flyer is top drawer. This looks nice and it will cause some commotion at work today no doubt about that.

    🙂

  4. RRRicky

    IT WORKS WITH WORD

    1. Open a new WORD document
    2. Use the “Insert Picture From File” command.
    3. Insert the page one JPG, followed by page two JPG.
    4. Looks great and with MS Word you can use the “print 2 sided” printer setup to let ‘er rip.
    5. Printing off 100 copies maybe more right now and the best part is we work for the gubment!

    ssshhhhh!
    🙂

  5. Anonymous

Shaken if you want a PDF you can make one from a Microsoft Word document after you insert the jpg newslettter.

    Nothing free

A CERTAIN Christ Church campaigner may be about to get ousted – and that does not mean he is going to be included!

Apparently, investigations are under way to find out the source of a very widely read Internet site that is accessed free of cost. Every piece of gossip about the big and small is found on the interactive site, with Bajans far and away often kept informed or misinformed about developments on this tiny isle.

Well, most of the discussions are less than flattering and sometimes scandalous, but so far no one has been able to get to the source.

A recent falling out over payment to a female staff member may, however, lead to the source being exposed.

Our information is that the staffer has been in contact with members on the other side who are now contemplating whether to break
the news on the platform or subject the campaigner to an investigation by other authorities.

As the saying goes: Nothing ever really comes for free.

  8. Congrats!

    Excellent idea!
This is a whole new turn of events!
-for the better of the country, not the blp

Finally, a newspaper that will be declared illegal by GoB,
and will be hunted down and all copies destroyed.
More nightmares for a GoB on the way out.

Suggest everyone with a printer do a dozen copies and distribute freely to those who don’t have computers, or don’t surf the web.

    Gentlemen…START YOUR PRINTERS!

  9. Anonymous

the blp I.T. operatives have managed to penetrate, and place a tr0Gane,
so that all outgoings also contain tr0Gans.
    devious bastards, born of fear.

  10. Reign of Terror

Never mind, fellas, this initial flaw will soon be straightened out
and then the printing will begin,
as will the demise of the blp’s reign of terror.

  11. james

Anonymous is either spouting nonsense, or deliberately scaring people off. I just downloaded the files and scanned with Norton Anti-Virus and McAfee before opening them. THERE’S NO VIRUS THERE. Most computers will scan for viruses in any case so the danger is minimal. Idiots.

  12. james

Exceptional idea by the way BFP. This will multiply readership by a factor of ten. If people are worried about viruses, they should download the file, right click on the document and “scan for viruses”/ “scan with Norton Internet Security” etc. before opening. Just to be safe.

  13. james

Very up to date Hants (although I sincerely doubt that you are Hants). Give everyone a break and stop trying to scare people from downloading by publishing this nonsense online. Idiot.

  14. Bush Tea

    BFP
Congrats, This is what I call First world standards – keeping your word; doing great work; and making a difference.

  15. Hants

BFP that was obviously not the real Hants writing that nonsense above.

Seems like BLP operatives are getting desperate.

  16. more

    Excellent work BFP! Thank you.

We who care know what to do and will do it.

  17. Scare Tactics?

They work well on timid Bajans!

NO PROBLEMS here with your files.

I already have 200 copies successfully printed up for distribution at the office and to passers-by.

Have to go out and buy more ink and paper
    (I’m enthusiastic, like that,sorry)
(I also need to change by stinking rotten corrupt Government,
and figure this will help sway the REAL masses of people without internet access!)

This print edition is going to be a big BIG problem for the current GoB!!!

  18. More Scare Tactics?

OMG! I just put the Geiger counter on these files
    and they’re radioactive!

I also did a Coliform count on them,
and they are filthy with fecal matter!
    as in eeeuuww!

    Let’s see…hmmm..
what other crap can I conjure up in my evil little blp mind
to scare away de foolish Bajans who wud believe anything they’re told?

Ah yes(I saved the best for last)…these files have illegal content: I also did a THC-25 test on them
    and they reeek! more eeeuuww!

    People: don’t download these files.
They are dangerous to the health of the blp.
These files could cause a change of your rotten, corrupt government: would you want that?

If you don’t know it, ask the “old boys”.

    To the Spammers:

Perhaps BFP will do a piece on the Maxwell story some time soon for us all to read.

The story is that Mr. Maxwell distributed political flyers from the air and some people did not like it very much.

All part of the “reign of terror” which is now at its end.

Well the BLP is out to get BFP, it is clear that this blog as been a torn in their side and they are seeking to do with the Free Press what they are known to do will dissenters in Barbados, punish, victimize, and ridicule. BFP stand firm and don’t forget to reach out those of us on the outside and that are willing to carry on the fight, and exposition of these corrupt people and their yard-fowls.

The following is from the GOSSIP column of the Nationnews “flying fish & cou cou” Is is laughable for a gossip column to accuse others of gossiping. A classic case of the pot calling the kettle black.

    Sorry about that guys!

Comment From The People’s Democratic Congress

Congratulations!! A good step in the right direction, BFP. Whatever improvements are made by you to your products/services are going to be welcome by us at the People’s Democratic Congress, and certainly by many other posters (contributors).

Certainly, downloading and printing this first edition of your printable BFP news flyer is wonderful and exciting. We really get the feeling that something more is happening at BFP, with the expectation of greater things to come. This news flyer certainly acts as a boon for existing and new contributors to log onto BFP more for many of the hot topics of the week/fortnight/month, and, hopefully, to see some of their important contributions making the editions of this news flyer.

Hopefully, also, BFP will reach the stage whereby customers will be able to download and print their own and others’ postings!!

Finally, while you have reached the stage of this publishable news flyer we believe that BFP will be very careful and punctilious in what news and current affairs it has available for printing. For with regard to the defamation laws of Barbados, certainly we do not wish for any person/s (ordinarily not you all) to be sued by some person or persons in the Courts of Barbados for publishing material defamatory of them.

    Anyhow, good move!!

  33. reality check

blogs have managed to bring free speech to many areas where news is selectively crafted or manipulated. It has made a huge difference to states and countries which normally control all information.

This last idea is brilliant along the same lines of Guttenbergs printing press. Out of the middle ages where the kings and clergy controlled the flow of ideas into the hands of those ignorant (no more) masses.

  34. Pogo

Is there a Pulitzer prize for bloggers? BFP deserves one.

  35. WhatEnforcement?

“have you all checked the laws of barbados to determine the applicable penalties for someone distributing leaflets without identifying the name or address of the publisher”

and who’s going to enforce it?

    dont make us laugh DO!

  36. Sapidillo

BFP, I’m glad to see that the suggestion offered to you and BU to make a print for distribution was considered positively by you and your team. I noticed it was put into effect by last evening – way to go.

I want to commend you for the Introduction. Job well done! I look forward to BU doing the same.

  37. Things go better with....

local “police force” enforces two things.
    speed and weed.

    leaflets-without-authors fall under neither category.
    ———————————
And besides, who dey gyne arrest?
every one of us who decides to print out and distribute a few hundred flyers? Ha!

Leave them scattered in public bathrooms/restrooms
the risk of actually being caught in the act of distribution(the only way they’ll have a case!) is less than 1%.
    I tremble in my boots

    —————————

Meanwhile the blp-funded hackers are busy working overtime,
staying awake by using whatever! -snort sniff sniff-
trying to crack the case of the uncontrolled internet press
that eventually brought about their downfall.

Congrats to you Sapidillo, You have been a voice crying in the wilderness about the need to start a news letter of this sort or similar to the Burtie Hinds one of old. The onl saying is very true, that “Preservation seldom fails ” now ain’t that DETRUTH. 😀

  39. Distribution Tips

    Act carefully. Take no risks.
    Leave no inky fingerprints!
Use thin white cotton gloves if you want to be really sure.

Leave a stash of no more than 5-10 copies of your production at any one place,
because if found by a blp-ite, they will surely be destroyed, and you won’t lose much if it’s only 5-10 copies.

Public restrooms are a great place to leave a few
    in ea. stall, if possible.

On fine rainless nights, a copy under ea. car’s windshield wiper can do wonders.

Stick a copy in today’s newspaper that you’re done with,
    and leave the newspaper wherever,
for Whoever to pick up a free one and read.

Likewise… in magazines at Doctors’ Offices
or similar locales, where BFP in print will be “discovered” and probably taken home to make even more buzz!

If you live outside of the Barbados jurisdiction,
you are considerably free-er to do as you please.
Circulate them among the West Indian communities in NYC, in Toronto, in Miami,
    in London, Paris,Rome and Zurich!

  41. OOPS!

    Caution

There was a muslim radio-show host and political activist in Trinidad (can’t remember his name, but he talked about corruption a lot!)who was arrested for distributing leaflets which did not bear the address of the issuing party. He was sacked by the radio station and fined.

Is there a law here (as there is in Trinidad) which prohibits the distribution of political matter without it containing certain information??

Every body who is somebody in Barbados knows that thompson and his other little girlish boys in the DLP are behind the BFP- Jones, Hartley etc. This kind of trash can only be the work of someone without any brains and who is now in a desperate bid to save their political hide.

Every one knows that when thompson loses this election he is done forever. So we all expect these kinds of desperate tactics. What is ironic about them is that he really believes that Barbadians do not know that the biggest political thief around is the very thompson himself. Who collected the largest bulk of cash from the construction of the St. Joseph Hospital that should never have been built? Which DLP Minister reaped the biggest sweets from the unfinished St. John Polyclinic that was never intended to be finished?

Who earned the most cash in Bim in a single transaction for the sale of fifteen pieces of this country’s prime real estate to clico? Whose law office now stands on prime beach front property for which not a single penny was paid? Whose daughter now has significant property vested in her name while the son of the former maid of George Street begs for help in recapturing his mother’s property?

Albert Brandford in a brilliant piece in the Sunday Sun yesterday has put made to any one ever thinking that thompson could ever lead this country. Leonard Shorey, Frank Alleyne, Richie Haynes and many other distinguish writers and political commentators of all concluded that the “believability factor” is what haunts thompson. He is seen as a liar therefore all of this nonsense that he and the fatted calf henchmen at the BFP is doing is falling flat because at the end of the day the question that all Barbadians will ask themselves is this. IF NOT PRIME MINISTER OWEN ARTHUR THEN WHO? Certainly not thompson the liar.

    Hi Royal Rumble

We at BFP agree with you that Thompson and the DLP are just a bunch of piggies waiting for their turn at the trough. Thompson has enough skeletons in his closet to last a lifetime.

That said, the DLP may be the next bunch of crooks in waiting, but they have a long way to go before they could match the damage done by the BLP with the flyover and Cricket World Cup projects alone!

So yes, we agree with you on Thompson and the DLP.

As far as the DLP running this blog… get this through your mind…

We are ordinary Bajan citizens who have had our fill of crooked politicians of both parties.

AND THAT is what Owen Arthur and company are most frightened of…

We’re not DLP. We don’t represent some class or interest except Barbados.

We are your worst nightmare: ordinary citizens with a voice – and now we are being read on paper as well as the internet.

    …………………

    So.
blp brings MAJOR pressure on the schupsing police force
to actually DO something about this ‘major’ POLITICAL problem…
..like the poor cops have sweet FA else to do?

Add that crime now..to the short list,
and we now have a police force
big on enforcing speed, weed and read.

    Dude!

MAJOR CONGRATS to the soldiers of democracy
who have spent the day distributing BFP print-outs at KFC, on mini-buses(a rather fertile ground – leave them in bus shelters, with a rock on top so they don’t fly away?) in newspaper stands
(don’t forget the magazine racks, fellas!!)
    and other accessible venues.

    Gentlemen, do your civic duty.

We’ll know if we truly hit the sore spot
when we see it on CBC-TV 7 o’ clock News tonight or tomorrow night!
On the other hand, although it may be sticking in their craw,
they may deliberately choose to ignore it like mad,
in an effort not to publicize and popularize it even further than it’s going to blow up!
    ……………………………………………….

We are finally reaching the common man!

EVERYone is going to print The Truth, now.
    What are they gonna DO?
    Lock us all UP?
    – all fifteen thousand, six hundred and four of us?

They haven’t got the jail space for all of us.!

And behind us come another fourteen thousand seven hundred and eighty-three equally zealous soldiers of democracy, with HP printers.

    OhGod. there’s the rub.
Effective midnight tonight, all owners of printers (HP and otherwise) now require a permit from the KGB,
    headquartered in Bay Street,
fee payable of Bds.$1,000 per annum
and strictly-enforced limits of supplies of ink and paper.
    – watch for it.

    Remember: speed, weed and read
    You saw it here first.

  56. Wishing in Vain

    Royal idiot,
I would like to inform you and beg you please to not try to mislead the public your PM does that without even trying, but for clarity The hospital was built many years before Mr Thompson came into politics he would have been a little boy running around in short pants(if he were born in those times) when it was being built so there is no way he could have benefitted from the building of the hospital as you are trying to imply, what a disgusting dishonest liar you are, but we should be used to it as you train in a special camp for liars with Owing being the master.

Welcome back RoyalRumble (BLP Minister) lol.

You must be shaking in your boots indeed to show your face back around here. 🙂 Is this the best attack that you can come with? Pathetic. I can almost see the sweat running down your brow.

I wonder what will happen when bajans find out about pass arson activities perpetrated by certain people. ===> May God have mercy <=== 🙂 .

There is not a speck of dust that will be a comfortable spot for you to sit on.

We still are waiting to find out if O$A shared that $750,000 cheque with you or if he still is hogging it all for himself 🙂

And did you get a cut on the 3s kickbacks? Inquiring minds want to know.

  58. Wishing in Vain

What most people do not understand or relate to on sites like this is that people are not politically motived but rather honesty motivated hence the outcry from those that respect honesty and sincerity.
I am neither a B or D but I have seen where this party the BLP has taken us to and I for one do not want this rot and decay to go any further and I have chosen to voice my concerns, I would do the same if the other party were in power and doing as these are doing, so it is not politically motived but because of love for this island and the hatred for seeing it raped as the BLP are raping it makes me sick and very very sad to the point that I want to do something about it, my only option is to speak out on blogs like this that get the message out to those that matter.

  59. Whimper? or bang?

    Royal R,
you guys are sooo<.i? desperate to make this blogsite appear as being pro-DLP,
but when the blp (lower case on purpose)
is jousted out of the saddle,
and the DLP try the same shenanigans two to three years into their first term,
we the soldiers of democracy who make up Barbados Free Press,
[as the congregation make up The Church(as opposed to the mere bldg.) ]
we will be “IN DEY ASS like a tick”, in the same way!

    so doan worry RoyalR,
your turn will come to laugh at Dem,too,
for the world is now a radically-changed place.

If you were paying attention to the futuristic blurb of 20-25 years ago,
you would have been forewarned that this sort of effect would happen to a ‘rapidly shrinking’ globe.
Rapidly shrinking in that pure technology and human telecommunicational interconnectivity would do major stuff to alter humanity and how democracy, real democracy (not political spoutings) works.

Theoretical democracy will (and very nearly has) become real democracy,
with the common man now in a position to communicate INSTANTLY with people all over the world.
    This BFP paper printout phenomenon
    is one such manifestation!

News now travels as fast as email.
You and the blp simply weren’t ready for this,
or thought it could be effectively suppressed,
and the DLP(upper case on purpose) must be getting a lil nervous and revising their Piggies Strategy Of The Future.

They tremble only slightly less than you and the blips do….and indeed we are all mere blips on life’s radar screen.
Some of us leave Barbados a better place,
but there’s a good chance that some perceptions see Barbados as having been left a worse place after three long terms of blip rule
but when D.Man in de street starts to read alternatives to blip-owned/controlled Advocate/Nations rags,
de bodi gyne bust pun eleckshan day,
and wunnuh gyne wash out in de gully, den!

All now so wunnuh altering election boundaries, requirements, polling stations,
any- and every-thing you can screw with
in your desperate bid to maintain the stranglehold reign of terror.

That must be desperately-scary stuff to have to resort to, nuh!

I wonder how severe the backlash will be against the media (cbc, starcom, advocate, nation) when the populus discovers these cover ups, all I seeing in my newspapers and tv are half naked men & women and sex, and NOT THINGS THAT matter to a right thinking person. It is the world that they have pulled over your eyes TO BLIND YOU TO THE TRUTH! That your goverment officials are a big set of wuffless thieves!!!! It would be in the best interest of said stations to get on board and reporting the truth right quick before they dig a hole any deeper for them selves.

So let me start seeing some truth from tonight dammit!!! The buck really stopping here. NO MORE LIES AND CORRUPTION AND TEFFIN.

Love your fellow man and help out those in worst conditions than your are for God’s Sake man.

Thank you Marcus, Shona, Clive and the rest. Thank you a thousand times. I SAW A FLYER BEING READ THIS AFTERNOON at my work. I said nothing and watched and listened.

Thank you BFP. You have no idea what you started.

This news letter needs the full support of each one of us to get the message to John public to let them know where and how their tax dollars are being stolen from them.
This is very innovative indeed and should be helped in any way that is possible.
PS Royal idiot what is your spin on DANOS the 3 S crook and the increase announced by the contractor of the work of the cost of the road works project moving from US $ 60 million to the US $ 180 million and yes we are not even talking in Bdos dollars but USA dollars?

My suggsetion would be to go in black and white to reduce the cost of production to those that attempt to make this happen.

  67. Hants

BFP this idea of printing is a great one. It will certainly increase the participation.
Freedom of speech and expression is a wonderful thing.

  68. Roger Rabbitt

Was it not so long ago that Owen Arffa was calling ppl to take the moral high road after he got married a secon time? How short-lived. He was all righteous back then, but evrything has returned to normal wiyh that crowd.
Rev Addully should remind the PM and the boys about what the appostle Paul said: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course……..” and go long bout wunna biznis.
If they want us to believe that the BLP was so good for Barbados, then they should let the record speak for itself.
On second thought, the record did speak for itself. One of tiefiing leff, right an’ center.
How could the pastor be sleeping good at nights when his colleagues behaving so wassy?
Does he pray? By association he is just as corrupt as all the rest.

    Hi Thistle

One of your comments was taken by the auto spam system and we didn’t have time to dig it out from the 1000 other comments (mostly spam) that were in the basket. We’ve been under attack here for weeks and are running 4 shifts of spam patrol 24/7. The other was taken by the moderation list for some unknown reason and I think was approved.

You must understand that while we appreciate your comments, and they are important – if they go into the autofilter, we just don’t have what it takes to drag it out sometimes from among the 1500 other comments in there.

    Thanks for your understanding.

Oistins has flyers all over the place. Like somebody put a couple down with a rock then walked another 20 paces and did it again all along the way. One was taped to a pole. Saw some on windshields.

  74. Congratulations is in order to the Barbados Free Press! This is a significant step forward that the rest of the online blogging community new you would be first to institute.

From us over at http://www.RumShopNews.com we thank you for taking a step forward that will lead to a greater acceptance in general of the online reporting community.

    Good Work!

Our website has a congratulatory note as well! We are all very excited.

  75. Pat

I wish I was down there. I am loving it. A tsunami may have started.

Funny thing, cleaning out some boxes in the basement and came across a copy of the Constitution of the BLP. Probably brought it with me in 1967, it was with my certificates and testimonials, birth certificate, etc. Fancy that….

  76. Thistle

    Thanks for the explanation, Clive.

We may finally be getting what we have been waiting on for the past week or near there.
I am hearing thru the grapevine that a major news organization is looking to release this news item tomorrow.
Should this really come thru it would be wonderful it has been too long in coming, but coming I understand it is.
Has anyone received a reply from Crook Danos ?
I seem to remember Adrian Loveridge writing to him but no report since then, I know that someone wrote to him asking him to make a comment via BU or BFP but todate we have heard nothing from him, actually we have not heard from the AG Marshall, the PM Owing, the DPM Mottley, the Minister Clarke, what are they working on the basis that if keep a low profile and say nothing this will blow over.
I would suggest that they push Noeless Lynch to face the fire as we all know that he is a monster of a liar so he can lie to the public once again and get away with it.

  78. Corruption and muzzling the press started long before Owen Arthur.
However, finally somebody has the guts to inform the general public.

  79. Hants

You jokers expect this non-news to be featured by any news organisation anywhere on planet Earth?

You people sre reslly AMAZINGLY stupid.

Its free, and you are free to say whatever you like.

Everyone on this blog is waiting to judge the success of this mailshot, the genuine concerned citizens who have initiated it…..and even the Govt. yardfowls, but for very different reasons.

If you support freedom of speech and want to protect it, just post anything in the “Submit Comment” box, “Hi” will do.

You are among thousands of others who are shocked by our submission to silence by the authoritarian public servants, we the people want our voice to be heard.

The true voice of Barbados, not some corrupt heavily censored excuse for “free and frank” discussion.

China’s Ambassador to Barbados, Liu Huanxing, revealed last Thursday that by 2006, 158 Barbados-invested projects had been undertaken in China with a contracted investment of $4.2 billion and a real absorption of capital of $1 400 billion.

  83. Hants

BFP now you unerstand why we have to be nice to the Chinese.

  85. Rumplestilskin

I have heard people quoting ‘Free Press’.

You have readers! The groundswell has begun, and THAT is what scares the powers that be, with the election shortly to be announced.

  86. Rumplestilskin

    And the most significant thing?

The readers are the ‘marginal’ voters. The maybe BLP/ maybe DLP voters last time.

THAT is significant. The ‘man in the street’ who votes DLP will always vote DLP.

The fact that the middle income (if they can still be called that) are swaying to the DLP and are listening to such as Free Press is significant.

  87. Bajan Youth

Great job BFP, now ppl can really be informed, keep up the good work

WHERE HAS ALL THE MONEY GONE.
The Israel Lovell Foundation has been given 100 000 of dollars by Owen Arthur and the BLP government, yet it seems unable to pay the road taxes on one of its Vehicles. The road tax expired since March and to date there is no evidence that the Tax has been paid (see photos). If Israel Lovell Foundation has no money Maybe the Minister of Social Transformation needs to tell the public of Barbados why. Where has all the money gone?

  90. FamilyB

BFP, wunna got to stop this hear? I should be in my bed long time, I had was to go an’ look for the Adobe Acrobat CD so I could PDF this and email it out, while de li’l HP printer churning out copies (thank god for the duplex option) tomorrow morning these will conspicuously grace every lunchroom and coffee table at work…

The folks at Roebuck must be out of their minds as to how to deal with this new turn of events … and here I was thinking that they had got you beat with the autospam and IP changing … keep 5 miles ahead, cause they play very very dirty!!

As a poster likes to say…

ONE LUV IN WUNNA TAIL!!!! Tek dah!

  91. samizdat

At last: a samizdat edition of BFP!
(hey, you always knew what my name meant, right? 🙂

This is a brilliant development. It takes an axe to the root of all the corruption and censorship we’ve suffered under for too long.

If you – if we – can keep the momentum for change and truth going, this might be the Bajan equivalent of the beginning of the end of the Berlin Wall.

Congrats to all of you at BFP, and to all my fellow samizdat distributors (I did 50 today, more tomorrow).

  92. FamilyB

My earlier comment was moderated, so I know that the BFP staff must be busy after the onslaught (as you can see from above). Clearly the intent is to make new visitors believe that their activity is being monitored … desperation has set in over at Roebuck Street, and the fight to the death has begun, with a new target in sight.

As for me, I’ve converted the doc to PDF for email transmission, and the old HP deskjet got some work last night, thank goodness for the duplex unit!. I shall be making rounds to all the offices I have access to, and leaving a few gifts.

This really shows up the ruling party’s desperation to hold on to their corrupt government. And to think I was once a Family Bee. I am ashamed and disgusted to even think about it…

  93. Rumplestilskin

Due to the sudden onslaught, I am led to believe that the gear has been raised for the election, someone wants this site stopped before the call.

Lets see if I am right.

I think the best story for the next paper edition is the Piggy at The Trough award won by Owen $ Arthur – complete with the story of how he changed the land use to his and his friends benefit.

Take a bow BFP. This is amazing suff. Just too good for words. The suggestion to use PDF is spot on.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank all those faithfuls who have supported BFP and its producers. You know who you are, it is very your support of the BFP that has brought about this amazing achievement. You to take a bow.

I first visited BFP in February of this year and was amazed at it hidden treasures. I have been streading the word as much as possible. This will be a significant tool in that fight. I hope the day is coming for bumper stickers and ads in the mainstream media.

Congrats to all the BFP soldiers!

Let’s take back our country from the BLP.

My daughter brought a free press newsletter home from work. She says all her friends printed it out and made photocopies. The photos did not turn out well but the words are ok. She says everyone took home three or four and with 7 employees that is about 30 were taken home. I thought you would like to know.

  100. West Side Davie

This is something special. Why didn’t BFP do this a year ago? I saw BFP flyers in two offices yesterday. Hidden on desks under some stuff. Nobody discussed anything while I was there. Nobody said anything about it. People are nervous and smiling. Owen’s photo was a big deal to them that hadn’t seen it before.

BFP, YOU MUST PRINT THE MADONNA PHOTO!
