BLP Government Insider Says Tourism Official Distributing Info Package Calling Pundit Adrian Loveridge “The Embodiment Of Racist” !

A BLP government insider who frequents Barbados Free Press has posted a stunning revelation…

An Official of the Government’s Barbados Tourism Authority is distributing a dossier on tourism pundit and local hotelier Adrian Loveridge, that labels Loveridge as a “the embodiment of racist”. Further, the document has been sent to the Minister of Tourism, Noel Lynch.

The Barbados Government insider who uses the name “Royalrumble” to post on Barbados Free Press has proven his credentials many times – occasionally coming up with or talking about confidential government documents in the middle of the night that have later appeared on the government BLP Blog. “Royalrumble” appears to be the real thing – a government insider who has access to Cabinet documents no matter what the day or time.

We are sure that the current information on Adrian Loveridge was in fact posted by the same “Royalrumble” government insider because we are able to see that the poster’s IP address and compare it to his other posts.

Here is what government insider Royalrumble posted today on a Barbados Free Press article written by Mr. Loveridge Sky High Intra Caribbean Airfares!

posted by Royalrumble – April 5, 2007, 1:16pm GMT

I recently received a package from a very highly respected official in the Tourism Industry. I was never so shock in my life when I opened the package to realize that it was a collection of information on this idiot that Minister Lynch had to put in his place couple Sundays ago, loveridge.

The note on the package said, “Please use the contents herein to enlightened our people on the level of hypocracy that now conveniently falls from the mouth of the embodiment of racist, loveridge”. The gentlemen worked with our relic of colonialism and has gathered quite an archive on his life in Barbados. The package contained a document for every day of the year and upon every subject matter the he has ever spoken. Barbadians will be most suprise who this loveridge really is and how he truly feels about them.

When I said in a previous post that he is only relevant to the new intellectually weak DLP I did not know how right I was. In fact I will from time to make some of the information available to this blog but I must tell you the truth I have been ignoring this idiot on this blog to the extent that nothing he post on this blog has been engaging my attention.

I have sent some of the information to the Minister and the rest will simply be dealth with appropiately since loveridge the idiot does not pose any challenge to the government and people of Barbados. He is simply not within my peripheral view.

This morning he is obviously either feeling black or singing for his swallow at the DLP’s butcher stall and so he his carrying about high prices in the airline industry. But how did he feel exactly eleven years ago?

Taken from page 10 of Business Morning for April 1, 1996. The headlines read “British hotelier’s recipe for tourism. Make B’dos more expensive”.

“British hotelier, Margaret Shaw believes making Barbados a more expensive holiday destination is a good recipe to revive the island’s tourism product”.

“The European rate was very cheap , now it is not. It is more expensive than the Caribbean. We have a good product here and we should not undersell it and I dont mean just the hotels, I mean the island on the whole”.

Where has Loveridge come in in all this. Ms. Shaw was loveridge’s business partner who together owned a tour operating company in the UK. Loveridge shared her view on a high price Barbados. Infact you should know that they bought a hotel in Barbados and that they also erected boulders to block access from black people getting to the beach, which this Government had to remove.

I know you will respond loveridge and when you do let us know what frame of mind you are in. Would be in the mind of a white man speaking a black language.

Do We Believe Royalrumble?

Although we have disagreed many times with Royalrumble’s twisting of the facts and spinning his spins in support of the government, we have never doubted his credibility as a government insider, nor has he ever claimed to have a document that he did not have or that did not subsequently appear on the government BLP Blog.

Do we believe Royalrumble that such a dossier exists as stated, that it calls Adrian Loveridge “the embodiment of racist” and that it is being distributed by an Official of the Barbados Tourism Authority? Do we believe him when he says that the dossier has been sent to the Minister of Tourism, Noel Lynch?

In short… Yes, we believe Royalrumble.

I believe him as well. Adrian Loveridge is not to be trusted…….he a perfect example of what I don’t want in Barbados.

  2. Chase

    Dear Mr.Loveridge,

    1.Are you a racist?

2.Do you see blacks as equal?

3.What is your opinion on interracial relations?

  3. Javon Griffith

He won’t answer, your wasting your time.

  4. Infact you should know that they bought a hotel in Barbados and that they also erected boulders to block access from black people getting to the beach, which this Government had to remove.
    —————————————————————–

Wait Adrian how long have you owned Peach and Quiet?…. because Far from blocking black people, Peach and Quite is one of the first hotels to open their doors to the Locals, with rates that they could afford. In the early 90’s I think 1990, As a young man and woman with no privacy, my then girl friend and I, now Husband and Wife with two Kids spent a friday night at Peach and Quite with plans to do it often. I totally disagree with this racist label.

  5. Please note

He is rocking the boat of the BLP now we will see Owing Lynch and Mottley at their best to search and destroy a worker and a leader in hotel industry.

  6. ……so when did Adrian place those boulders there? I remember seeing them there when i stayed there. They were sharp, weathered as a result of the force of the pounding waves. If they were not there, the Hotel would have been long gone. I also discount the contention that they were place their to block out people. Nonsense.

  7. Chase

    Adrian
That is why I had to ask?
Many weekends were spent there by numerous locals for reasonable rates ,good service and the atmosphere to really enjoy with your loved ones.

This is why the racist label just dont wash with me.
I am very quick to see racism in this country but I cannot say I have ever seen or heard of it at this place……..I even have friends who work there.

  8. Hmm…This is quite the conundrum, if I do say so myself.

    1. A very close friend of mine (who lives up North and visits Barbados) stayed at his hotel a few years ago (less than five) and had nothing but good things to say about Mr. Loveridge and his place.

    2. I would see his articles in the media and on BFP and think that this fellow really knew what was going on with regards to tourism. Heck, I even thought he should get a senior post in Government or the BTA, where he can put his knowledge to good use.

But now as a result of this ‘information package’ that Royalrumble claims to have, I may have to rethink my position regarding Mr. Loveridge. Not to say that I have suddenly changed my view of the gentleman, simply that I am now unsure. Maybe when Royalrumble/BFP decide to release more info, things will become a bit more clear.

  9. Chase

    Stupse!!!

This idiot mean the boulders placed to prevent erosion??

them same boulders had wilts galore……thank ya loveridge….dem wilts does pull loud when ya hungry and de fish aint bitin’

  10. ??

If there is one thing I am sure about, Adrian Loveridge is NOT a racist. We disagree on many, many things but I cannot sit idly by and see such stupidity being brought into the blog.
Royalrumble, you are wrong.. Move on!

  11. james

All very interesting but here we go again with the “i don’t agree with that guy – so he must be a racist” argument – something that happens with monotonous regularity. I’m not qualified to comment on Mr. Loveridge’s integrity or views but to call him a racist as above with no explanation is insane at best and racist itself at worst. Oh dear.

  12. In either june or July 2000 I travel on a AA plane out of Miami to Barbados with Louis Tull and Barney Lynch on um, and the only reason that i did not cuss these two elitist A-holes is because my Brother begged me not too. I have always said that my experience todate with elitism, classism, and racism, has allways be exacted to my face or in my presence by people that look just like me.

    BFP,

While you have expreesed your right to believe Royalrumble , it would be good also for you to investigate if this is not a witch hunt against Mr. Loveridge :

Can the BFP find out :

    1. If BLP platform speakers at a BLP political meeting in Oistins….made some disparaging comments about Mr. Loveridge and his wife ( who were in the crowd )….thus causing the BLP supporters in the crowd to shout insults against the Loveridge family..?

    2. If Mr. Loveridge ( oft times spot – on )predictions about mismanagement in the Tourism INDUSTRY under Minister Lynch…causes the BLP to target him…?

  14. Chase

    Adrian:

my experience todate with elitism, classism, and racism, has allways be exacted to my face or in my presence by people that look just like me.

This is so sad but I must say it is soooo TRUE!!

  15. BFP

What is clear is that the Government of Barbados will target any intelligent critic – whether in the media, business or a private citizen.

We featured this post by Royalrumble – a certified government insider – because it is just one more example of the oppression and corruption that the people of Barbados are living under.

Head over to the government’s BLP BLog and you will see that they have posted confidential cabinet documents when it suits them – but don’t expect any citizen to have the right to see any document if it doesn’t suit the BLP.

Those documents are not the property of the citizens of Barbados – government documents are considered to be the private property of the cartel who will do most anything to retain power.

Radio talkshow host David Ellis would have been called “racist” also for his questioning of Tourism Minister Lynch – except that he is black.

That’s the way things work around here. If you are black – they will hit you with all they have. If you are not dark enough skin, they will also hit you with all they have plus the “racist” charge.

Time for the UN Electoral Commission, Reporters Without Borders and Transparency International to start some heavy monitoring and analysis about Barbados.

But it is going near 2 WEEKS now you CLAIM to have information RE: alleged Money Laundering by Government Ministers in Barbados…..and CANNOT…or REFUSE to publish this STORY as you PROMISED…

But now make BOLD to say….

” We featured this post by Royalrumble – a certified government insider – because it is just one more example of the oppression and corruption that the people of Barbados are living under. ”

By not REAVELING your Money Laundering story….BFP does this not add to the…

    Chase..

I have never thought of myself as a racist, and I am sure a devoted racist would think twice before investing his lifesavings in a country that is made-up of race that may be up to 95% of a colour difference to his own.

I have been truly blessed to have travelled extensively and really have never come across racism anywhere until my encounters with current and former Ministers of Tourism.

Overwhelmingly, Barbadians (at all levels) have welcomed myself and my wife in our eighteen years on the island, for which we will be eternally grateful.

I counted both the late Sir Harold St. John and Peter Morgan as personal friends.

Sir Harold would spend hours at our hotel discussing our shared passion, tourism.

We would not always agree (GEMS an example) but had the mutual respect for each other not to let it interfere with our relationship.

I do NOT hide behind some anonymous synonym but post every single comment on this site under my own name.

Its very easy for someone like RoyalRumble who does not even have the courage to identify him/herself to cast all sorts of aspersions, whether true or not and I will leave readers to make their own judgements.

    Hi Adrian,

I’m a bystander, for now. I wish I had personal experiences to share, but sadly, I do not. I wish I also had a nice young lady to take up to his place for the weekend, you know, so that we could talk about literature and life, but sadly I don’t.

On a serious note, If I were to go solely on the views of my friend from up North, then Loveridge and his wife, are good people. Also, if I were to only base my opionion on his letters in the print media and posts on BFP, then I too, would have to say that he is a indeed a good fellow.

So again, more reliable, solid facts from Royalrumble & Co. would be useful. I’m not saying he’s good nor bad. I’m waiting and watching.

  25. Jerome Hinds

That’s a balanced view and position , Bystander.

  26. witch hunt

its interesting that a man who publicly criticises the government’s tourism policy and risks a lot by doing this, is now being targetted by these allegations. the mere fact that royalrumble who does not have the same courage as loveridge to identify himself can come here and post this should be enough to make everyone here doubt him.

  27. witch hunt

a man makes constructive criticism of government policy and you respond by hitting below the belt and trying to discredit himm. the only conclusion that i can draw is that the allegations are true, you cannot respond to them and so you try and weasel your way out by attacking the man. blp style democracy.

RR stuck his neck out too far for his masters and got it chopped.

A sure sign things are rough for the powers that be.

Would be surprised to see him back for a while as he doesn’t seem to know how to say a simple sorry when he is out of line.

Javon’s performance will be interesting to watch.

If the crowds go to Kensington and the tourists come, the powers that be will cool down a bit, and become a bit more tolerant, but if they don’t, ….. well I don’t know what will happen.

Their necks are stuck way out and by now they know it.

This is pressure time, one wicket standing and nuff runs to get. If fortune smiles on them, they will get the runs, they just need to keep their heads. they have plenty overs to face.

    RR’s performance however, says alot.

No experience to bare on what gives with the accusations now in light of thier activities? have you not seen this kind of thing before. If so what opinions would have had then?

If Royalrumble’s ramblings are indicative of the position and tactics of the hierarchy of the BLP then they are on the wrong path. They need to get off this road to destruction ASAP.

If Royalrumble is speaking for the BLP they need to shut him/her up without delay and distance themselves from him/her. Barbados cannot afford this type of negative publicity. Constructive criticism is good it is not something we ever want to stifle.

Such practices are the HALLMARK of the MUGABE….regime….!

  40. Surely it is blatantly obvious that Government is highly offended that an expatriate white hotel owner has the effrontery (bravery) to show what a lying fool their minister of tourism is.

They cannot dispute his facts, for he is well informed, as we have found out for months.

So they attack him with dirty shots about racism which always get our attention until disproved. It is quite easy to spin most things nastily, but the rocks on his beach and his former views on the best target market for Barbados are no indication of racism whatsoever. What other charges are there? None, I bet.

In fact it became Ministry of Tourism’s policy to aim for the high end of tourism as being what Barbados needed. They did not “blame” Adrian Loveridge for that policy then, but it is now convenient to claim it indicates racism. Stupid.

One clearly gets the impression that Adrian Loveridge is about as UNRACIST as one can get, perhaps short of not having a black wife. (I am assuming his wife is white, perhaps wrongly). From our experience with him, with many contributors saying he has the makings of a good Min of Tourism, he deserves our support and trust until there is concrete evidence to the contrary. The fact that he uses his own name despite the fact that he leaves himself open to all sorts of bureaucratic dirty tricks, gives further testament to his integrity.

This is an obvious attempt to use unsubstantiated accusations of racism for political ends by the BLP. Further evidence, if it were needed, of their gutter nature.

  41. I have the means, there isn’t any noise that i can’t digitize, but i am all the way up in Rhode Island.

  43. reality check

this society does not understand Adrian Loveridge.
He brings in his own capital, is forthright, honest and has integrity.

He does not feed from the government trough, does not lie, does not cheat and does not steal.

International investors beware, this is a racist government of the most extreme order. They have to attack anyone that acts in a positive manner for the country because they are hiding their own crumbling house and miserable shortcomings..

To think that they may waste their valuable time and money to compile a file against him to use to attack him, smacks of the worst kind of excesses under the Nazi and Communist regimes of the past 60 years.

Is it really that suprising that few investors have been putting up hotel rooms in Barbados and that the number of hotel rooms have been declining.

    Investors Beware!!!!

  44. Rumplestilskin

    Accusation of Loveridge being racist?

Quite ironic after all of the racial slurs issued forth from the lips of Ministers over the past few years, from Liz Thompson referring to the ‘Caucasian’ male in a specific context to the well remembered phrase of ‘Negrocrat’ and ‘indentured servant’ to the last fellow criticising the DLP’s choice of candidate for a Christ Church constituency based on racial grounds.

  45. Rumplestilskin

And to think some would TRY to have us believe that the DLP is any less competent in running the country.

Mia, Owen both have ability and presence.

The rest? Throw them in a bottle and shake. No special abilities between them.

  46. Royalrumble is just a lackey for the the Prime Minister and Lynch. It goes without saying that some “damage control” would be the order of the day after the Down to Brass Tacks show. And by the way, the reason that Lynch refused to sit with Adrian Loveridge is because he is clearly intimidated by Adrian. He could not sit across from Adrian, look him in the eye and lie…especially when it came to adding up the numbers. I don’t think that anyone on this Blog should put too much emphasis on the “racist” allegations implied by Royalrumble against Adrian Loveridge. …the BLP is in panic mode. They know who the real “idiot” is…none other than Barney Boogles and they also know that the biggest racists on this island are black Barbadians against their own.

My friends who work for you have nothing to say but good things,as a youngster growing up in the are ,you have never showed me any racism,or blocked the beach access from us …what you did was to put up boulders to stop beach erosion, which in my opinion was a good thing.
I asked and you answered, therefore as far as I am concerned,my take on this matter is clear..

  49. Kem

It is funny as soon as you disagree with the government you are aligned to the opposition. God forbid that Barbadians maintain the capacity to think for themselves. If you are white and disagree with the government you are racist. There was a time when if you disagreed with a government position you were communist. Has time not changed, or is it the same old game. We as a Barbadian must demand more from our politicians than what they have given us over the years, this divide and conquer approach only serves to restrain progress.

  50. samizdat

Years ago I remember they did a play up at UWI called Animal Farm, where the animals – led by the pigs – revolt and overthrow their wicked masters, the humans. By the end though, all the poor working animals lives are even worse than they were before the revolution. The rich pigs and their attack dogs lie, steal, cheat, intimidate, and do business with the humans. And the poor working animals look from pig to human, human to pig, and can no longer tell the difference between them…

Sound like somewhere we know? UWI should put that play on again…

  51. samizdat

Man, I just remember the names of some of the pigs! The chief pig was called Napoleon (he liked to drink the humans brandy). And there a pig called Squealer, who was kind of like a PR pig, always putting a positive spin on terrible stats about the pigs government.

And the pigs Party Slogan was: All Animals Are Equal. But Some Animals Are More Equal than Others.

Heh. The body who wrote this play must be a Bajan…

It is funny as soon as you disagree with the government you are aligned to the opposition. God forbid that Barbadians maintain the capacity to think for themselves. If you are white and disagree with the government you are racist.

Wait this is Kem from de TILII forum? 😀 wuh i must say that you like you telling pun yourself. Have you ever called someone a racist? 😀

  56. Inkwell

In fact, Orwell’s 1984 would titillate the imaginations of many of the posters here who see dire things in Government doings.

Walter Kronkite described it as ” a novelistic essay on power, how it is acquired and maintained, how those who seek it or seek to keep it tend to sacrifice anything and everything in its name”.

I am sure many have heard the terms “Big Brother”, “doublespeak” and “doublethink” without knowing where they originated.

Though published in 1949, “1984” remains very relevant.

Thanks Inkwell, I will check this Orwell out…

  58. Free the press!!!!

I thought it was in 1948, and he reversed the numbers to make it ’84. Recommended reading.

The term racist is not one isolated or created solely for white people who make derogatory statements about a black person due to his skin colour. However the term applies to anyone regardless of colour who make such statements concerning a another race. I said that to say this, I find that we as black people make derogatory statements about other races and think for some reason or another that we are not being racist simply because we are black. Look for instance how we speak and treat the East Indian community who reside here.

Racism is the easiest of all distracting flags to fly.
    It hits everyone(all races) deep.
    – gets ALL our feathers ruffled, and we’re all clucking at each other…ooh what a fabulous, cost-effective distraction

It is the easiest, cheapest weapon to deploy
and it works every time, and we all fall for it.
    What suckers we be.

  61. Racist bastard.

What? – Black People aren’t exempt?
    How could that be?
I thought we were the only race of people ever ever enslaved, and so the world owed us a favour…that favour being that We are exempt from being categorised as racist.
Damn! now you gone and screwed up all that.

Very true, except that it doens’t work everytime, I beg to differ. It hasn’t worked on me when i was accused of such, but it was very clear, why it was used. 😀

Kem you don’t have to look at the East Indians, in fact i don’t think your claim can be sustantiated beyond the use of a label. I prefer to look at their economic and social standing in the community. A community that is majority populated by persons that you would want to suggest are racist towards East Indians. That East Indians own and operate profitable retail businesses of all kinds, with blacks as the majority consumers and patrons, and that they are allowed to practice their culture and religion without let or hindrance, is the proof that what some would want to suggest is racist intent by Black Barbadians towards Barbadians of East Indian origins has its foundation in intellectual, liberal, academic political correctness, and snobbery, that continues to play up symbolism as real inspite of reality to to the contrary.

These academic snobs reads a book, not cognizant of the authors agenda, but swallows it’s message hook line and sinker, and then goes off accusing other Blacks with nonsense. Certainly the latter part has been my experience with them.

If perchance East Indian is used to define Indo Guyanese at not those that are from India then my argument changes a little, but not much. 😀

  63. Free the press !etc

You right. Eric Arthur Blair a.k.a. George Orwell wrote it in 1984 (for the reverse date reason) but it was not published until the following year.

Whenever we hear of O$A calling up to cuss late at night I think of Big Brother in 1984! Shall we overcome?

  64. Patrick Porter

I as you know am white and the above thing published by Javon Griffith is a disgusting show of the BLP and its cronies. I is OK for certain white people to kiss the a** of the BLP, but as soon as a white man takes issue, they are racist. You are nothing but a two faced individual and use the term racism when it suits you and your kind. When the money is flowing the whites are great to have around as long as they kiss your back end. You should not even consider yourself Bajan, but rather some little worm that crawled out from under a rock to be stepped on by the BLP and used as their mouthpiece. The people on this site whether they are black or white stick together to bring down the BLP and we will. I am getting more calls now than ever from members of the BLP giving me tips as to what is going on in your neo nazi group. I would say that the rats are getting ready to leave the sinking ship. Your members are not happy with your leader or your party and it is only going to get worse. I would suggest to get ready to go to join Mugabee and his crew.

The “walkout scene” was the highlight of the soap that Sunday. Wish I had got it to share it.

Sometimes I wonder why our politicians don’t go to Hollywood and earn some forein exchange for us.

Other times I wonder why they just don’t go to France.

To George of the Barbados Free Press.

    Dear Sir,

Can you also have accompanying the audio clip of the Minister’s walkout that you have promised bloggers, the clips of Ellis’ pathetic apology, made on the following day and that of his Boss? It would bring a useful balance to the entire spectacle while at the same time demonstrating the unbiased manner in which you disseminate information on this blog.

Thanking you in anticipation of your cooperation.

    Yours truly
