The Nation Newspaper Tackles Barbados Clinic – Baby Murder Story

The Nation News Picks Up On Barbados Free Press Story

As we reported in our story yesterday BREAKING – BBC Has Video: Healthy Ukrainian Newborns Murdered For Body Parts – Destination Barbados Clinic, the Government of Barbados has some serious explaining to do about how it climbed into bed with an organization that is now accused of murdering newborn infants for their body organs.

Now the Barbados Nation Newspaper has picked up on our story (yes… we saw you visit our website and read our story, guys!) – and we hope they continue to hammer away to discover how it is that the reputation of Barbados has been thrown into such a worldwide mess.

But will The Nation News follow up on our next story in this series? … Fetal Parts Industry In Barbados: What happens to aborted Bajan babies.

We will see!

Will The Owen Arthur Government Survive This Scandal?

As we asked in our original story…

Mr. Prime Minister… What have you done with our country, in the pursuit of filthy money?

From The Nation News Article “Common Sense & Evidence” …

“The news media in Barbados have alerted us to an extraordinary, horrific BBC documentary aired on Tuesday last week (December 12) on BBC 4 and again on BBC World on December 13, on the operation called “Vita Nova”, the Institute of Regenerative Medicine (IRM), at our fabulous tropical paradise, Villa Nova in St John. This “rejuvenating clinic” provides, at great cost, intravenous injections of stem cells, which are claimed to help people with “arthritis, blood disorders, cancer, chronic pain, diabetes, digestive diseases, etc, etc, etc”.”

… Professor Henry Fraser is Dean of the School of Clinical Medicine and Research.

Which Barbados Media Outlet Broke This Story?

Gosh… I wonder what “news media” alerted The Nation News to this story – because to our knowledge, the Barbados Free Press broke this story a full day ahead of any other Barbados media.

Are we wrong, folks? Let us know, please.

  2. Curiously amused

The story was written as an OP-ED by Dr. Henry Fraser, and was not [for all intents and purposes] covered by the Nation staff.

Also, be aware that people who own WordPress blogs also peruse this site and know that it is impossible to tell who’s reading your particular stories. Stop being so sensational (lying) and downright full of your self.

  3. Prof Fraser’s letter reveals that the Institute of Regenerative Medicine at Villa Nova has operated here since 2002.

The medical oversight body, Quack-Watch, immediately condemned the clinic’s stem cell therapy as being without evidence of benefit.

If our medical fraternity knew that a “Quack Clinic” was operating in our midst, one wonders why the authorities were not alerted and action taken, to avoid tarnishing the country’s reputation.

Is a “Quack Clinic” allowed to operate here so long as it does not use products obtained from unethical or illegal sources? Are its doctors’ credentials checked out? None of the 200 medical articles to which the institute’s founder, Dr. Y Baltaytis, lays claim, can be found in any medical journal.

    Hi Curiously Amused

    (That you, M?)

You’re kind of new coming on the comments section, and we appreciate that one of our friends from San Francisco would stop by.

While we occasionally might be full of ourselves, and like everyone we promote our views while writing (tell us who doesn’t promote their views on their own blog?)…… we don’t lie.

We’re a blog with open comments, and we leave up the bad with the good. Say a lie here and we or anyone are immediately taken to task by a couple of thousand readers or more in a day.

If you dig deeply into the posts of this blog, you will find that we have sources and supporters pretty well everywhere: and that especially includes in the newsroom at The Nation News.

So yes, through means that we will not discuss, we often know what is said and done around The Nation News. Like we said – dig into past posts and you’ll see that this is true.

And so it is that we saw The Nation News visit us quite a few times on Saturday afternoon, just as we know about the frustration of the staff and stringers as they are forced to submit to editorial policies dictated by the owners – but hey, everybody has a family to feed.

I hope that clears things up for you.

Cool, real cool.I like that bit of info on how the nation staffers and stringers feel about the editorial staff impose on them.

I know understand what a good friend of mine said to me recently about the managing editor Roxanne Gibbs insistence on dealing with fluff rather than the serious stuff the reporters try to bring in.

I know understand why Roxanne Gibbs could have lead with the headline ‘BLP SURGE’ after the recent cadres poll.

    Tell us more BFP.

I have been more than suspicious of The Villa Nova set up for over a year, when I checked the credentials of “Dr Y Balaytis”…from their website he is shown to be a”member of the New York Academy of Science”….sounds impressive , until you realize that ANYONE” can be a member of that organization by paying them a US $115 fee, and filling out a simple form on their website(www.nysa.org)….I cant believe that they actually put that up as one of his qualifications for doing experimental stem cell treatment in Barbados…his medical degrees are questionable, and he has not had anything published in any western medical publications.I`m really sorry for the folks who are paying them thousands for nothing, and if the story about the source of their stem cells is true, Barbados should kick them out immediately and try to save face in the International medical community.

  8. Jerome Hinds

No wonder the pimp Owen Arthur can declare in Oistins at the recent BLP political meeting that regardless of when he calls elections – the result will the same, 4 – 0 to the BLP !!!!!

Note, Lady Jerome was on the same political platform that night.

Could it be that this Villa Nova ( Vita Nova?) project is to provide campaign funds for the BLP in the upcoming election?

Is this why this government has turned a blind eye to its operations?

Barbadians, let us remember St. Lucians saw the signs of such corruption on the wall and voted Anthony out the way.

Anthony also promised ‘free plots of land’ to every St. Lucian if his party was returned office on December 11 2006.

Could you believe after 9 years in office doing nothing for the people, Anthony, came with such an empty promise?

What about the pimp Owen Arthur $ 34 million ‘promise’ to fix all the roads in St. Philip!!!

After 12 years of BLP rule and St. Philip residents complaining about the state of their roads every year !!!

Ah wonder if the Villa Nova secret providing the $34 million?

Come on the Negrocratic pimp, Owen Arthur – Bajan want answers and FAST !!!!!

  9. Lady Anon

Is it deja vu or did I read Mr. Hinds’ comments somewhere before?

  10. Tudor

You most certainly did, must be an echo in here. Pity he doesn’t leave his personal & political views out of the debate. Spend some of that time investigating the following; by what means of transport is the stem cell material being brought into barbados? under what customs heading?
I’ve been my research and have the information. Come on BFP get the facts a little digging and you have a good story which cannot be ignored by the authorities.

    Thanks!

You are letting the cat out of the bag, Tudor.

Lots more to come all in the fullness of time. We’re not finished yet – and this story has legs that will carry it well into the new year.

I hope you don’t mind that we have set your comment aside for a few days. You can probably guess why. Patience for a bit, ok?

    Please write us at barbadosfreepress@yahoo.com

    Thanks,
    Robert

  16. This is an outrage and I ponder on what are we to do? not just Barbados but the entire caribbean region. I applaud BFP for being persistent and tenacious in your efforts to uncover and confront deep and controversial issues regarding human life and moreso the most vulnerable among us. This is an atrocity.
