Opposition Members’ Credibility Problems Are Enormous
Welcome to the next five years or so, folks. Barbados again has no effective Opposition against a majority government that will do as it pleases without rules, transparency or accountability.
Almost daily we see members of the former BLP administration hampered in their criticism of the current DLP Government because, well, they were crooks when they were in office and their admonishment of the Thompson government sounds absurd.
Today’s absurdity is found in the Nation News where we see former Minister Gline Clarke criticizing the government over land matters.
Could this be the same Gline Clarke who as a member of government expropriated private lands and then built himself a house upon that same land that his government seized? (photo at top)
Could this be the same Gline Clarke who parked his beautiful new Mercedes on land that used to belong to someone else? The same Gline Clarke who unethically built a home for his mistress… paying cash from the same ScotiaBank account that he used for “political donations”?
That Gline Clarke?
Whaloss! He be mekking sport!

Africans going home, however no indication of how, what flight, and at what cost. What wonderful investigative newspapers we have.

Personally i really do not care so long as they are out of here .
The visit seems really fishy and some stupid bajans hinding some of them.

It costs whatever it costs to charter a plane and crew for a transatlantic flight. All of you on BFP were quoting all kinds of prices in the last few weeks. And now you want to know how much it costs? And why do you want to know when the flight is leaving? Are you planning to take the flight? Are you planning to meet it at the other end? Do you have friends and relatives on board? If not it is none of your $%^& business.

BFP readers should we be surprised? If we continue to allow these political thieves to run we country, can we be surprised that they thief everything even if it nail down or not.
Gline Clarke ain’t got no shame. The man brave you see. Now can somebody not tell me why he ain’t at Dodds for five years as somebody’s queen? If this new government had appointed me as a special investigator, I would have had that Owen, Noel, Gline and all their cronies in jail right now. It is time we bajans get our own vigilante group to do what this government should be doing. Let’s put these thiefing bastards behind bars where they belong. What they thief belong to we the people.

Gline clark could really hush his mouth. After he mess up the roads he think that anybody want to listen to him? He is too worthless.

Better Clarke to speak than Arthur who might be asked about the “FREE” condo he now owns at Port St.Charles after approving an extended tax holiday for the owners of that development….
May 7, 2008 at 10:29 pm
Stop griping about the lil’ piece o’ land’ Clarke got…try to remember all the former BLP Ministers (under Tom Adams) who purchased government owned or foreclosed plantations with “loans” from the defucnt barbados Development Bank only to have those ‘loans” written off within 30 days..left Clarke with he lil’ piece…he is an embarassment to the rest of the ex-BLP Ministers’ Millionaire Club…

Just got word as I write that the Ghanians and Nigerians are leaving Barbados right now. Good riddance. I hope the Government, its agencies and the people will learn from this mistake. These people are scam artists.
May 7, 2008 at 11:39 pm
Gline Clarke is a hypocrite. Why didn’t he purchase the land when he was Minister? By the way Noel Lynch has his plantation up for sale. Seems like he can’t maintain it anymore.
May 8, 2008 at 1:15 am
where is the sale listed?????????????

Gline Clarke is simply exhibiting a special talent that many politicians have.
He is able to suck and blow at the same time.
This skill set is indicative of people who have no integrity and live by double standards.

Glyne Clarke must rate as the most brainless poltician ever to walk up the stairs of Parliament or maybe second only to that stupid boy Duguid.
After 14 years of neglect in every Ministry of Gov’t the DLP assumes office and is trying their best to make the QEH hospital function and run as it ought to be run, along with the Tourism Ministry trying to create much need hotel accomodation on these shores and we have idiots like Clarke and Duguid talking utter nonsense.
If after 14 years of neglect and mistreatment the DLP have cnosen to change the way things are done at the QEH they ought to be praised and given compliments for taking the bull by the horns and making good of their promise to reorganise this problem.

The problem with your logic is that the two of them are still walking up the steps of Parliament, indicating Parliament is for brainless politicians.
In degrees of brainlessness where do the rest of the politicians who walk up the steps of Parliament rank when compared with these two?
May 9, 2008 at 2:36 pm
Your conclusion is doubtful my friend.
All others would rate higher than these two, even Forde would be ahead of Duguid and Clarke what does that tell you about the two???

WIV
Who you fooling? DLP performance thus far has been mediocre at best. the only bright light among the lot seems to be Sealy, except when he talks of airstrip in St. Lucy!
To the DLP we must ask what have you done for me lately……. cost of living was platform issue and even you were on the bandwagon yet now where do you stand…
May 9, 2008 at 3:01 pm
Airstrip in St Lucy.
Second runway at GAIA.
Some folks just do not get what is going on in the world, in particular the airline industry.
If Cow thinks he needs an airstrip for his upmarket condominators, let him build one.

I am very much happier now that the corruption has been addressed and the attention being placed towards taking care of the needs of the everyday persons, the wonderful delivery of the residencies to those most deserving of owning their own homes a stroke of genius and goes to show the placement of the gov’t priorites it is putting people first.
So unlike the previous gov’t where things were done based on the kickback factor to their own bank account.

BFP says,
What cow manure, WIV!
David Thompson has failed to adopt a Ministerial Code so the whole place is operating without Conflict of Interest rules and accountability.
Thompson himself is anything but transparent especially in his use of private business jets.
Same old same old. Just new piggies saddling up to the trough.

Straight Talk
Last night on CBC the appearance of sinkholes in St. Lucy was revealed.
While the footage is nowhere as spectacular as that of the one in Texas, hopefully the big maguffies will spend some time addressing this problem as it might be embarrassing (not to mention costly) to have a plane or helicopter disappear in a hole when it lands.

?? I am sure that even you if you were honest with yourself you would agree that it is a breath of fresh air blowing thru the island with the installation of a new gov’t.
You are in caring safe hands and your money will be spent honestly and it will not end up politicians hip pockets.

I see Liz is now all for the Government going to Greenland.
Says it will be too costly to dig out the rock.
The rock is saleable and a profitable activity as most quarries will confirm.
Perhaps Barbados will be presented with a ready made landfill.

I was really addressing my mind to the other 28.
We know numbers one and two, the most and second most brainless politician in Parliamant.
Who would occupy #30, ie be the least brainless politician in Parliament?
May 9, 2008 at 7:38 pm
why do the govermment of barbados tell the people especially the poor stop selling their land because after it sold, them and their gentration will not having any claims that there own a piece of barbados and the money would be soon gone and their children will have to rent someone else houses to live ,wake up barbadians
