One Of Us…

In our minds but not in our hearts, we have accepted that this will be the last Christmas for one of our family.

There is nothing to be done. No one to call. No lack of anything. Prayer is good, but this prayer will not be answered.

A journey is almost over. But not quite.

A friend who knows what is happening sent me the link to the award winning short My Name Is Lisa. You can see it at YouTube by clicking on the photo above, and then you will understand why this will probably be the last Christmas for our loved one.

  • I understand BFP. So sorry for your family. May God give you strength.

  • Total lack of respect and ignorance is hard to take at the best of times and totally uncalled for. Did Bessie never learn to comprehend what
    he/she reads?

    BFP Editor’s Note…

Comments by “Bessie” were violent, obscene and have been removed.

  • After watching the video I am presuming that this focuses on long term effects of Alzheimer’s Disease: it s interesting to note that there has been some recognized research into the effects of medicinal Sage on early onset Alzheimer’s Disease and memory loss. I recently profiled Sage on my blog: GoGrow: Barbados (http://greenbb.wordpress.com/2007/12/04/dies-ma)rtissalvia-officinalis-translation-tuesdaycommon-sage/

Best wishes through this difficult time…

  • Sincere thoughts your way BFP. Some of us also have family with other medical issues that could also put us in the same boat, though with less certainty.

Funny how such a circumstance changes one’s view of life.

    Peace

  • I am surprised that video only placed third, I wept, very triste – excellent work! I am so very sorry for your time of stress and tribulation…

  • I sit here and I read the utter tripe from the misguideded souls who call themselves BFPE and the others who have not yet formed themselves into any group.

I am not naive to think that in 2007 Barbados race or class does not play a part in daily operations. I have been exposed to it from black, white AND indian Bajans.

However, I refuse to submit that in the face of personal tragedy or even in the face of death, the grim reaper will say “Klong, not you today, we are only dealing with white people, or black people or indian people”.

We need to get to the realisation AND UNDERSTAND that at the end of the day, our blood is still red, we still put our pants on one leg at a time, we still suffer from pain, loss, emotional upheavals whether we are black, white or other.

So, please, STOP THIS CRAP, get down on your knees and hope that one day, when you are down and out and need solace, that someone will offer you a helping hand.

  • Lady Anon, I did not want to dignify the BFPE and Klong submissions with a response, but in a way, it’s good that we should all see that sad and twisted minds exist among us. We should feel sorry for them, because for sure they are very lonely people, as are most people who show nothing but hate.

  • Why does this happen? Job asked this too.

Anyone who has, or has undergone, the loss of a loved one knows. There is no ‘why’, only pain for everyone concerned, and the long-suffering demise of a once strong, spirited, valuable family member.

At Dukes Tenantry we wish to record a member living at the back door of this contested proposal, who is suffering from Alzheimers.

Why should this particular resident have to suffer additionally by the loss of peace from an illegal track that has no planning permission?

  • Goodenough… Imagine that you don’t even have the dignity or respect to keep our petty argument out of a discussion such as this.

  • Respect for our community is something I have a lot of time for.

Keep your cars away from us.
