A few days ago, Barbados Free Press published Message To Albert Brandford: The Owen Arthur Government Will NEVER Audit Cricket World Cup Government Expenditures.
Barbados Underground took a different perspective on Mr. Brandford’s article. We think that it is worth reading…
Barbados Becoming A Society Of “Fat Cats” And Soft Corruption

I think that there is room for dishonesty as we have seen from this party that once given the room and opportunity the corruption will set in that is why I favour an american style program you have two terms and you are out of there, this party was ok in their first and second term but in this last term the level of corruption is at an unbelieveably high level ther are stealing like there is no tomorrow and maybe they feel this to be the case and the are speeding up contracts awarding them to friends of the party for their cash back scheme just look at the flyovers as an example of this fast track system have you ever seen a gov’t contract get awarded in such haste and what do we know about the players involved if look deep enough you will find Bannister and Nicholls showing up in there by extention that includes Owing as well.
We need to break the cycle up and give the leadership to a new party maybe for 5 years and if they are working well 10 but then after that there needs to be a change of gov’t once again.
Never should we allow three or four terms in office it just breeds dishonesty, arrogrance and corruption thats my take on that.

Our elected leaders have removed themselves from the ordinary Barbadian, they have allowed power to blind them and in their arrogance corruption has become the norm. It is as if they intend to gorge themselves to the bitter end. There is no shame in their wrongdoing, because everyone knows of it, so why pretend.
Those who have greased their filthy palms, or thrown sweetners in their troughs, do not respect them, because they know their worth and in the greater scheme of things, it is not much.
Decent people cower in the shadows, ashamed to show their faces or speak, as this merry band mouths agape, only come up for air.

ha ha ha so called decent people are attacking anyone who dears to tell the truth about these people. It seems as if in their minds Barbados identity is tightly wrapped up in the image of it’s PM and senior politicians and therefore they see an attack on these individuals as an attack on Barbados and by extension themselves.

Adrian
You are bang on.
The mess depends on “decent people” keeping quiet because of their perception of how the game should be played.
It remains to be seen if in the light of such glaring home truths what decent people will do!!
Have they forgotten how to hold up their clothes and get on bad as their forefathers would have done with no hesitation given this debacle?
We will see.

John if Malcolm Speed is to be believed, it is the Barbadians, as members of the LOC that sought to deny calypso cricket loving Barbadians, their cultural practices, of revelry at de Oval . So i would hazard a guess that they have forgotten, and wish to force the rest of us to do the same, well except those who live in gated communities, and that still find utility in beating the living daylight out of their female, companion while keeping the police at the gate and themselves accountable. Here Mia your law is not my law will get worse.

I am told that Rodney Wilkinson – lost quite a bit of money with his CWC village concept. Apparently at Dover the people walked in free one night and he wanted them to go back out and pay to come in but it was too late. And the other nights hardly any crowd could be seen
How can you ask a bajan to exit a free venue so that they can pay and come back in.
Retribution is a ghastly thing for those who have sown and are now reaping.
He who laughs last laughs best!!!
Barney Lynch… are you laughing yet? I know I am

Well some would say that it wasn’t his money in the first place.

Don’t worry he has enough left over from the GEMS Project as well as the money he is holding for Owen. He has plently of money and if you frequent Lucky Horse Shoe as I do you are sure to see him playing the one arm bandits on a regular basis. If you passed by Simpson Motors recently you might have noticed the Suzuki Vans in the used car lot he and Owen returned a few weeks ago.

Retribution is a hard thing to face. But it coming for them.

Did anyone notice the picture in the Nation last week of Rodney Wilkinson, Leroy Parris and Peter Harris? I guess it is what you could call a “wow” moment : – )

I hold no brief for anyone but honestly it makes me smile when I read or see reports as above re Wilkinson it could not happen to a better person, nor will it upset me to hear the same of the Nicholls’s , Bannister’s, Lynch’s, Owing’s, Storey’s, Cox’s, Hobson’s all of the above are part and parcel of why we are the way we are today corrupt and broke we have allowed this gang of criminals to ride into town with all guns blazing and rob us all, and that is what they have done they have robbed from the richest to the poorest we all pay taxes and VAT and we are allowing them to ride out of town without holding them and lynching them or hanging them in a public centre and to make examples of what dishonesty, corruption and bribery will get you.

Does anyone have the time or resources to create a complete list of these clowns dishonest acts while in gov’t it would make good reading even if it would be a long reading, I have been considering this for some while now but have not found the time to start the process.
